Lovely setting with a nice pool area and great location. Nice spa bath and I liked the little outdoor kitchen and sitting area (but not everyone would like this especially if bugs were around). Peaceful setting, not a party place. Nice BBQ area. Really close to the beach and everything you need.

Providing more than one bin bag for a five day stay and salt and pepper for the kitchen would be nice touch. We loved the outdoor kitchen and dining area but some people would not especially as it wasnt lockable. Walls are thin and you could hear everything from neighbours and those above. The maintenance guy using a super loud leaf blower for about an hour outside your window every day.

The Reef Retreat is half a block back from the main street and beach, which means there is no traffic noise from this road. The establishment is well established with a beautiful lagoon style pool surrounded by towering paperbark gum trees. The rooms are pretty straighfforward and spotlessly clean. Our room was on the top floor, which had the advantage that no one could see into our room. It also had a small balcony, which we didn't use but comes with a small table and chairs. Ideal for sitting around and enjoying a drink.

It appears that everyone in Palm Cove owns a leaf blower, which is a shame because most of the time a broom would be more suitable for moving fallen leaves from one location to another. That said, while they are pain they are not always about.

We were in room 16. Loved the room, but needed another comfortable chair. The bed sadly was not good. My husband was very uncomfortable and when I slept on the side near the window i could see it was not good, and had to sleep the other way. The bed sagged and meant my head was lower than my feet when laying in bed as you should. So I laid the opposite to get some sleep

Loved the swimming pool and the facilities.

Quiet property close to beach and main strip. Room was a good size and outdoor kitchenette and dining setting was a pleasant alternative in a tropical setting. Pool area was shady and quiet with adequate deck chairs provided. Staff very helpful. Will be on my list for next visit.

Room was due a deep clean as dust was evident on sills and floor corners. Room was close to street boundary so a little noisy at times but bearable. Access stairs to room were a little tricky when wet.

The location was great, just off the main street. Doesn't have the ocean views but a 10metre walk to the beach and within a few mins walk of all the bars and restaurants. A handy kitchen available to use. Bed comfortable enough, the room was nice and clean, with great aircon. After hours check-in was easy to do.

Two flights of stairs to get to the room. I am not a fan of only shutters on sliding doors between the ensuite and bedroom for privacy when using the loo! Internet seemed a bit slow, ended up using mobile data instead. Would be great to have the ability to sign into Netflix or similar on the tv, but no option. Regular TV only.

Clean, luxurious property, quiet. Lovely staff. Heated pool and spa on site. Small kitchen on the room laundry, tour desk…. What’s not to love???

Probably the only issue was the less than perfect WiFi and if you are with Vodafone- the very average phone reception but that was Palm Cove in general not the property.

Great location close to beach and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff.pool and spa was great. Comfortable clean apartment.

The paving was a bit uneven so you need to be careful when walking around.

This place is very central, yet quiet. We love the tree house feel and the fantastic Melaleuca trees that provide relief from the heat. Staff and managers are all helpful and pleasant. Note: we have stayed before and look forward to coming again.

We loved it . If you have limited mobility, ask for ground floor units as no lifts.

Fabulous location in a quiet area just a few minutes walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The living room/ kitchen was spacious with a lovely balcony. Large comfy bed and a good size shower. All rooms clean andl beautifully decorated. There is a large outside decked dining area in the shade with a good size pool and spa pool The owners/managers were really helpful and I would recommend staying here if visiting Palm Cove. A bit like living in the rainforest in the town.

The only downside was the pool area which was quite shaded as the day progressed due to the tall trees.

We came to Palm Cove over the Easter weekend. We were not expecting it to be so quiet at The Reef Refreat! No kids!! And we even had the pool area to ourselves for a few hours on a Saturday. I said to my partner I wanted to go to a place that felt like we were in the rainforest and this accommodation was exactly that! Plus the beach is 100m away
