We love this region of Portugal which is very authentic. The hotel is built on an old Quinta of traditional farm surrounded with of grazing pastures and almond orchards. The traditional architectural style of the Alentejo has long low buildings with characteristic high chimneys. Lodge Monte Do Sobral, is a good example of repurposed traditional architecture. it is one of the best ways to preserve portugal’s heritage buildings as well as it’s lifestyle. We appreciated our host’s and her staff’s welcome, the casual comfort of the place and the traditional breakfast.

There is always room for improvement. The hotel has only been open for a short time and this was their first summer season. We would suggest there be a little more living room furniture in the Loft we stayed in. The interiors are beautiful but lacked lounging furniture for 4 people.

The surroundings where beautiful Relaxing peaceful & quite as the accommodation is quite isolated Bedrooms where comfortable with great a/c Anika the owner was lovely and helpful

In a middle of a country side this property is a real gem. Stables beautifully converted into modern rooms. Quality linen and comfortable bed. Good shower. Common areas converted to a high standard. Best croissants I ever had for breakfast. Very tranquil surroundings, foggy fields in the morning, bird songs and smell of orange blossom (we stayed in early May). Hostess Annicka is lovely and makes you feel at home. We only stayed one night, I wish we stayed longer.

There was no wifi in the room but as we only stayed one night that wasn’t the issue at all.

The size of the room was very good and had a door leading to the garden and pool The breakfast was great and was constantly replenished, and was served in a lovely relaxed room

We found the walk from the parking area to the room was a bit far for us, as we’re not as fit as we should be

What a quaint elegant chique country farm. Everything was spot on, the decoration was effortlessly elegant, restoring and bringing to life what seemed to be horse barns and stalls, done in such good taste and attention to detail. Bravo for bringing a little touch of French savoire fair into the beautiful countryside of Alentejo in Portugal. An amazing backdrop for this little gem. Definitely coming back

The beds were a little on the "very soft" side, for us they were too soft. Also, the bathroom was stunning but had no shower glass so after one shower, everything was wet. It wasn't so bad for us but in a few months time the wooden sink counter is going to show signs of water damage.

The greatest curiosity, Monte do Sobral was the place where Capitães de Abril reunited for the first time in 1973.
