Newly refurbished. Beds comfortable, rooms quiet. Huge potential to be a really great place to stay.

No wifi which was bizarre. Mobile data very poor reception in rooms. No menus in the room. Reception seldom staffed. Housekeeping only got to us at 4.45pm on our second day which seemed very late. No sign in room to put on door to say please don't disturb. Fire doors propped open along corridor. Maybe because they bang. But not great. Breakfast could have been delicious but everything was coated in spoonfuls of oil. My potato scone sqirted oil out as I cut into it. Very disappointing.

I said this during my stay to the lady at reception - the photo of the outside of the property on booking.com did not do this place any favours! The place and the location are so lovely from the outside, the photo made it look like we would be arriving at some sort of hostel or old fashioned hotel, we had really low expectations but we were just looking for somewhere to lay our heads after the Taylor Swift concert, so anywhere would do by that point, we were more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived, so it exceeded all expectation!

The breakfast was a bit chaotic the next morning and nobody seemed to know what was going on! But it was fine and we were fed, it was good and not expensive!

Pancakes for breakfast were amazing. Cooked (full scottish) breakfast was delish. Liked buffet style. Coffee made it.

There was a paint smell in room but opened windows. No telly remote but eventually staff found one from another room, staff said they were being taken by guests so when I left I took it to reception with my key card so that they knew I hadn't took it home with me, maybe it's worth thinking about dishing them out with key card on arrival and return with keycard at the end of their stay? Will save on buying more to disappear😩

Breakfast was lovely. We left a bit early and the chef made bacon rolls for us on the last day. The beds were comfy. Didn't try food in the evening. There was a man hosting karaoke on the Saturday, he didn't have many people singing as it was quiet. Felt bad for him. So if you go make sure you sing! If you stay make sure you go to Fife Zoo (don't believe the reviews!) and the deer sanctuary. The fruit farm is good too.

Room was a bit cold but there is a radiator. Hotel is a bit out the way of you don't drive. Had to get a taxi to places.

Everything was great. There were a couple of issues on arrival (not their fault) so they upgraded our room. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, I have an egg allergy so the chef made a fresh batter for the fish and chips without egg specially. The ladies who looked after the bar in the evening were lovely and put great music on.

We weren't particularly fond of the country music at breakfast but that's of course subjective. I slightly marked down the cleanliness score as the bathroom was in disrepair (missing grout etc.) and needs renovating hence would be impossible to keep totally clean but in general the room and bathroom was clean.

I would recommend a ground floor room for people with disability as there is 3 sets of stairs to get to the first floor but manageable if you can we had a superior room on first floor but would have been alot easyer on the ground floor there is steps and sitting area outside and a ramp into the hotel entertainment was very good and the barman was very helpful with us he helped wife with the steps to the bedroom 😀 👍 😉

The only thing I would say was the stairs to the room it was a struggle but managed slowly

All the staff who work there are super friendly and can’t do enough for you . The food was great and a pint of lager at only £4.30 topped of our stay .

The room we were in was lovely it must have been just renovated as you could still smell the newness of things the only slight annoyance was that there was no privacy netting on the window so on ground level anyone passing had a clear view into the room if your curtains were open but I would not let that small thing detract from a wonderful stay

The difference from this stay to our last stay was big! We had a lovely upgraded kingsize room on the ground floor. Very simple but tasteful decor. Bathroom very nice & fresh too. 2 pillows this time & a hairdryer that worked! All the staff are lovely, especially the night manager who is so polite. I believe he may have cooked the breakfast we had which was just beautiful. Excellent choice & quality. Have also extended breakfast time on a Sunday by an hour which was appreciated.

Nothing to dislike

A great location, room was massive and had everything you need. The bathroom was large and clean. The staff were all fantastic and friendly. The breakfast was great value for money and really quality ingredients, the only negative was the sausages, they weren't great quality unfortunately. The restaurant/bar itself had a great atmosphere and the menu had plenty of choice, the food was all fresh ingredients and good value for money.

Nothing

The bar food was exceptional, plus the staff were right on the ball and were very helpful. Ten minutes after each order, my food comes, which I think is somewhat impressive. Next time if I am near that area in Fife, I will go there for sure, as for friends and family having a holiday in Fife, that will the place I will recommend.

Well, it was Xmas, as we all expect that people can get drunk and loud that time of year; the beds were comfy as I slept well like a handsome log and the party people were loud, which kep me awake, just a little bit, apart from that, I just used the initiative looking for a way to get comfortable - take ear plugs for example
