The property is a short walk from the Kii Tababe train station. The host is exceptionally kind and caring. She agreed to store my luggage for the 3 days before I checked in. This was a big help to me! It allowed me to walk the Kumano Kodo trail with no burdens. Communication by the host was wonderful. She took the initiative to ask for updates to our arrival brine, especially as we were running behind our schedule. My husband and I found the room size generous as it could accomodate 6 futons. The futons were wonderfully clean and comfortable to sleep on. The airconditioning temperature could be adjusted well. There are no supermarkets nearby but a 7-11 next to the train station was well stocked with food we could warm up using the microwave oven just outside our room. Good layout: Shared Toilet and wash basin was just outside our room; it was convenient for us. Shared use of shower and laundry was downstairs.
Take note that there’s a flight of stairs up to our guest room. The host again helped me very much by carrying my heavy suitcase up to the guest room.

The host was wonderful and so was the self serve tea station.
The house is a little loud, meaning if there are early risers staying over you'll here them in the morning.

Convenient location for station and bus to Kumano Kodo (5 mins walk, outside train station). Large room, well-equipped with fridge, good WiFi, towels and comfortable traditional bedding. Basic washing facilities and a small, dark kitchen (shared with the other rooms). Free laundry machine. She kindly let us leave luggage for the day.
It is a room in a repurposed older house, which is not a problem in itself. Just don't expect a hotel! No bathroom, only one separate toilet, separate shower, and a basin next to the kitchen. Overall very comfortable for a basic and budget single night stay.

The location was excellent being just 5 minutes from the bus & train stations, The traditional bedding was very comfortable & the room a good size. Overall it was excellent for the price.
It was a bit noisy at times hearing people talking outside on the street & the karaoke bar people singing until 4.30am which affected me as a light sleeper. Also the room didn’t have any locks on the doors so had to be let open all day whilst we were out and about. A locksmith could install many door locks in a day & guests could then lock their rooms. The property should do this.

Good location and friendly staff. It’s only takes five minutes walking from the JR Kii natabe station. The room is very comfortable, cozy and clean. Though the toilet and bathroom is out of the private room, it’s still easy and comfortable to use public facility . The best thing is the price. I’m very surprised in the price with the high-quality of the accommodation. Highly recommend.

Conveniently located guesthouse for those coming in for the Kumano Kodo trail. Good kitchen facilities and kettle, though I didn't cook there, it was nice to know that that was an option. Had a good night's rest.
Getting to this room required going up and then down a flight of stairs each way. It's not a con, but important to note for those who are not very mobile.

The hostess was very nice and accommodating. It a shared bathroom and shower facilities. It was nice that there was microwave to warm up food should we need it. The location was very convenient since it was close to the JR train station. We had to catch a bus to Kii Takajiri for our Kumano Kodo hike the next morning. , a pleasant experience.
Not that we didn't like, but the location was a bit tricky to find since the entry was small.

The location is perfect, just a few minutes' walk from the JR station. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, and very communicative with info and details so I was never anxious about my booking even in the middle of typhoon season. The room itself was quite large, with even a fridge. The whole place is spotless and exceptionally clean. I would go again if I go to that town again.

Room is clean, no smell at all, walking distance from train station. Plenty of food options around the area. It has fridge in the room! Perfect to store our rice ball from 7-11. Owner is kindly allow us to store our luggage without cost for 4-5 days during our kumano kodo hike. Lastly, we also impressed with the light in our room (not sure other room has same light), it allow adjustments of brightness and set to night/sleeping ambience mode.
Nothing really. You can hear the train, cause its near railway, but jr lines doesn't run overnight, it stopped at some point, not exactly sure what time.
