If I could rate Palazzo Carletti more highly than ‘10’ I would. This is definitely one of my favourite hotels in the world and I have stayed in several hundred different ones. Federica truly is the perfect host. Her Palazzo is beautiful. Full of history, large but extremely comfortable. Elegantly decorated with frescos on walls and ceilings. The hand made breakfasts, different each day, are the perfect start to a day exploring Tuscany. A free mini bar and lounge bar were included in the price we paid. Federica is extremely helpful in planning your travels and nothing was too much trouble for her. We will definitely be returning and can unreservedly recommend Palazzo Carletti.

I can’t think of anything I would have asked to change. This is a perfect place to stay in a lovely part of a stunning Tuscan hill town.

We stayed in the luxury suite (2 rooms) for 10 days. Wow! Our view (and balcony) were simply fantastic. We could look out of our bedroom sliding doors and see all of Tuscany and it was marvelous. This Palazzo is very centrally located on the main street of Montepulciano, so you can walk everywhere. There are numerous fantastic restaurants nearby and the staff will reserve them for us (and make recommendations). The staff (Frederika and Eleana) are so very nice, helpful and wonderful....I can't say enough. They also speak English well, so if that is your language you are in great hands. The breakfast was lovely each morning. Pastries, hard boiled eggs, fruit, juices, fresh coffee....a wonderful start for the day. The hotel is only 5 rooms. It's on the second floor and there is no lift. It is extremely safe and secure, so if you are traveling alone, you will feel well-cared for. The Palazzo is gorgeous, with frescos on the walls (and in our two room suite, which was huge, there is a frescoed vaulted ceiling), beautiful floors, and nice furnishings. There is a bar set up in the main public area that is complimentary, as is everything in your mini-bar in your room. The rooms have a Nespresso coffee maker and an electric kettle. Our suite had a huge two person Jacuzzi in the bathroom, which also had a separate shower, bidet and double sinks. We would absolutely stay here again. You will love it.

There was nothing we didn't like....it couldn't be any better.

Location is totally amazing. We didn't expect the view of the tower to live up to the photos posted on the booking site, but the view actually exceeded expectations. There is no other lodging option that gives such a close up view of the tower directly out the window. 100% worth it as a way to take our last night in Italy before returning home.

Air conditioner could have been stronger. Having to crawl under desk to unplug coffee maker so we could plug in the teapot was inconvenient; would have been better if both could be plugged in at same time.

What a charming little hotel! We stayed in the double Carletti and was wowed from the second we walked in. The building is lovely, and the staff is just marvelous. Our room was huge, with a full Turkish bath plus a normal bathtub and modern bathroom. The high ceiling and frescos made us feel like royalty. Breakfast was simple and continental style, and taken in the main room which is divine. And the staff! Thank you so much Elena for helping us get a reservation on short notice and giving us an overview of Montepulciano. She was our on demand TripAdvisor plus Yelp plus OpenTable, except faster and more user-friendly. Parking is off site and a little unnerving to get to, but that’s obviously a function of the location being literally on top of a mountain and hardly the fault of the hotel. Elena helped us park and lug luggage up to the hotel, which I greatly appreciated at 6 months pregnant. :)

There was some street noise from loud people given the old windows, but everything quieted down by around 11pm and we ultimately had no issues sleeping after that.

This trip exceeded all our expectations. Our room with its spectacular view was just perfect. Location could not be better and the welcome from Federica was lovely. Federica was always so willing to offer advice and help throughout our trip and this was much appreciated, nothing was too much trouble. It is a peaceful and welcoming environment. Breakfast was beautifully laid out every morning on our table. We would highly recommend Palazzo Carletti

My stay at Palazzo Carletti was wonderful. The room, staff, breakfast and location were all perfect for my needs. Montepulciano is a beautiful small town and it was easy to walk anywhere from the hotel location. The staff were really nice and accomodating. The breakfast was laid out and ready for you when you woke up, as well as some extra items and fresh coffee on request, if desired. If you let them know in advance you are gluten free, they can apparently make a special breakfast cake to meet your dietary requirements. The room and bed was comfortable and well designed. I really loved my stay and hope I can come back!

My room was near the staff kitchen, so I could hear the breakfast being prepared from an early hour. It was not too much of a bother for me as I needed to wake early but maybe a set of ear plugs if you find yourself in that room and are a light sleeper.

This is our third stay at Palazzo Carletti . We absolutely love the Albany room . Marguerite ,the Manageress is wonderful. She is very helpful, professional and always always very pleasant.

Breakfast. The food is very good BUT we would prefer it to be set out on a separate table where everyone can help themselves to what they need and therefore not as much food would be wasted every day.

There is no elevator. Breakfast is not healthy: mainly sweet pastries and cookies, there were not even vegetables. Our room was located next to the staff's utility rooms, it was noisy already from 6-30, they were moving tables for preparing breakfast and making noise with dishes. There was also an unpleasant moment with replacing towels; it turns out that when ordering a two-night stay and the cost is 448 euros, replacement is not allowed, so I listened to unpleasant words addressed to me.

This place is amazing. Like visiting a palace, our sitting area in our huge room had a fireplace and hand painted ceiling from the 1700’s. The room also had a stunning view of the countryside and a large bathroom with a fantastic hot tub. But the real standout here was Frederica, she booked us dinners and organized a somewhat hard to find taxi when we left. Nothing was too much trouble. She is also very friendly and her English is good. She also organized a very good breakfast. If you are in town for a visit do yourself a favor and stay here!!

Our room was very luxurious. The steam shower was great after cool, rainy days. Comfortable room with lovely painted ceilings. Breakfast was very nice and we got wonderful directions from our hostess. The parking is a bit tricky, but we dropped our luggage and were accompanied back to the parking area. The streets are very tight and not easy to navigate.
