I had a great stay at The Usual Brussels. The staff was really nice and helpful. I arrived early and the staff tried to find me a room which was already cleaned, so I could already check-in. Thanks a lot. The location of the hotel is very central and close to the train station BXL nord. Due to traffic calming the area is very quiet. It's also very handy that the hotel has a small coffeeshop/bistro where they serve snacks and drinks.

The young lady that checked us in went out of her way to provide us with hot sandwiches in the cafe despite the late arrival hour. She also provided a seamless and friendly checkout experience in the early morning hours. We could easily recommend this hotel based on her service alone, but I should include that the room was clean and larger than expected, the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water and it is located 210m (less than a 5 minute walk) from the subway line that easily provides service to other parts of the city, as well as the main train stations.

We loved most things about the hotel. The location is as good as it gets - a few minutes walk from Brussels Nord and a very short walk from the metro, which is inside a mall. The street is lined with shops and restaurants and is generally a good, well populated area. The hotel as a restaurant/bar at the entrance, so you can grab a quick bite / breakfast / coffee. The staff was incredibly pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was VERY clean and spacious. The bed was insanely comfortable, with some of the best pillows, sheets and comforter I've experienced. I slept better than at home, lol. We also had blackout curtains, which was very welcome. I honestly couldn't tell whether it was day or night.
The only thing we didn't necessarily love was the shower. The walls didn't seal properly with the floor, so water kept escaping into the bathroom. It was pretty annoying if you had to use the bathroom afterwards. Not a big deal at all, but if this didn't happen it would have honestly been a 10/10 experience.

The staff at the reception were very nice. They explained the purpose of the design. The room was very nicely presented and I liked the use of recycled materials. The location was perfect as I was there for business and it was only 5 minutes walk per day.
I was surprised that the room wasn't cleaned every day. I received a Whatsapp that explained that this could be done for an extra charge. I didn't mind this and realise it keeps the costs down. However, I would have expected some basic cleaning, like removal of litter, checking towels, etc.

Where do I start? Everything in this hotel has been thought through - sustainable with paper bins and recycled toilet paper. No fussy items in the bedrooms and a switch that will turn all lighting and electrics off when you are out of the room. The staff were lovely and always on hand to serve you and answer your questions. For me the best part was gluten free breakfast option..beautiful focaccia bread toasted and filled with egg tomatoes and cheese. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and just a couple of minutes away from Metro and Bruxelles Nord station. Lots of bars and restaurants within 5/10 minutes walk. Easy and speedy check in and check out if you pre register. Oh..and I mustn't forget the beds...so comfy!! Best undisturbed sleep I have had in a long time. So pleased we chose this hotel - would definitely recommend!
Nothing.

This place was simply immaculate. I don't have one bad thing to say. Firstly, the location is in the heart of the city centre, brilliant for seeing a lot of the attractions in Brussels, in walking distance of the Grand Place. Then, even though we arrived earlier than our check in time, the staff gave us a very warm welcome and offered to keep our bags while we could go and explore the city with peace of mind that our bags are being looked after. The room was all that we needed and more. Very comfortable, great layout and the bed was super comfy. The staff were all fantastic, Mathieu and Daniel (and the ladies that I unfortunately didn't get the names of) were so friendly and once we required any assistance, they dropped every thing to attend to our needs and nothing was too much of a hassle for them to sort out. The cherry on top was that they went out of their way to offer us a shower after running the marathon, even after checkout. They didn't need to do this and they did this without us even asking for any of this, so this just shows that in a world of being usually very transactional with hotels, that they go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome at all times. Highly highly recommend staying in this hotel when you visit the beautiful city of Brussels.
Nothing, everything was top notch.

Quite convenient for the center and the work meetings I had in the area. Courteus staff. The bed was ample and comfortable. I enjoyed the kettle and complimentary coffee. The attention to recycling is a good point.
I really missed a table or anyway a place to sit (apart from the bed) and work with my laptop. Also the storage is almost inexistent and I had to keep my stuff in the suitcase - yet ok-ish for a couple of days. The breakfast is clearly minimal (choicewise) compared to other structures (but was enough for me). This reflects on the value for money.

I had an awesome stay at The Usual hotel in Brussels! It’s such a cute, clean, and friendly place – one of the best I've been to in a long time. The location is perfect for getting around, super close to the city center, metro, and train station. The staff were fantastic, always so helpful and welcoming. The room was just the right size, perfect for a good night’s sleep before heading out to explore the city. And the coffee shop in the lobby? Easily the best coffee in Brussels!
The staff were fantastic, always so helpful and welcoming. I genuinely don’t have anything negative to say about my experience.

My mom and I arrived in the morning in order to leave our bags and came back at check in time, but the recepcionist was so kind he made an exception and gave us a better room before check in time, without additional cost, considering we went for 1 night and my mom is an elderly woman, so we were very very grateful to the personnel. Also, the decoration was amazing and is a very beautiful hotel, 100% recommended.
The one thing I can complain is about the bathroom door which is very heavy and closes automatically. Because my mom is an elderly woman I had to help her open it

The location is very close to the center. The hotel is on a main street; one side is a bit quiet, but the side towards the center is lively and safe. Even though we arrived before check-in time, the staff helped us because the room was available. It's great that there is free water service at the entrance. There is a kettle and various coffee and tea options in the room. The hotel is quiet and the rooms have good sound insulation. The room decoration was very nice. The hotel felt safe.
If you are going to book a "Usual" room, you should know it is 12-15 m² and really small. It is hard for two people to move around after opening the suitcases. The hydraulic system of the bathroom door is really stiff, and the door doesn't stay open. I found it pointless to place large metal wrought iron recycling pockets in such a small room. You should know that the room doesn't have a window that can be opened. If you get cold easily, the air conditioning temperature is connected to a central system and cannot be changed. I can't say the bed is very comfortable. For this price, I expected a slightly bigger room. However, it is still a nice choice to stay in Brussels city center.
