I grew up in the area and it’s always been a place close to my heart. All the character you’d expect with modern comforts. In many ways, nothing has changed but also it has changed a lot but this is absolutely not a negative at all. It felt like coming home. Every member of staff was friendly, knowledgeable, smiling and on hand at all times. Well done! The food we had was delicious and well portioned, excellent service from the young waiter, very much appreciated. The cleanliness was exceptional, another aspect that certainly didn’t go unnoticed. The rooms are surprisingly spacious and airy. Well stocked with tea/coffee/water. Comfortable beds and extra bedding if needed. In conclusion, i wholeheartedly recommend a stay here. You won’t be disappointed (unless they are fully booked of course) and we will definitely be returning.
There’s absolutely nothing to moan about in any way.

We got a great welcome on arrival. The room was really nice - more than ample for the two of us and overlooking the back so lovely and quiet. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was particularly good. Lots of choice - between us we had the full English breakfast, the veggie breakfast and the pancake and fruit over the two days and all were faultless. Parking can be a little challenging but we got lucky and had a space outside the first night and on a nearby road the other night. The location is fantastic and there are plenty of good places to eat out (including the pub downstairs).
Nothing not to like but just be aware that this is an old building and as a result the floors are creaky and you can hear people moving around. However, overnight, it was lovely and quiet and we slept very well.

We loved the location , the food was excellent, the staff were super friendly and was a very dog friendly place to stay . The dogs dinners were huge , so our Yorkies shared and there was still some left over . One unfortunately went to waste . The singer on Friday was so bad he was good , a very funny guy . A Busy pub with a great atmosphere .
There was a very strong smell of bleach that hit you soon as you walked in , Mrs halls room desperately needs painting although it was cosy and clean . The view was the roof . Would have liked a bit of a view, ( as booked 6 months previous) so if I went again would be nice to have a view of the square, maybe we were put there as we had dogs, not sure .

The Devonshire is located in the beautiful heart of Grassington. They are attentive to a number of small details that a traveler might need to have in their room, including a portable fan, tea/snacks that are replenished daily, and a shoe tray to leave your dirty hiking boots. Every staff person I interacted with was courteous, friendly, and willing to help. I was able to arrange an early morning check-out without any issues. The food was EXCELLENT. They have an extensive offering of traditional and uniquely distinct food options—there's something for everyone! I thoroughly enjoyed the full English breakfast option included with my lodging, which was delicious and sufficient to fuel my day till supper time. They also served great-tasting coffee, which is not always the case at hotels. I'm also an "All Creatures Great & Small" fan, and I appreciate all the little tips of the cap to the series throughout the place (the Devonshire's exterior is featured on the show). The pub is cozy and dog-friendly, and the beer I tried was fantastic. The pub closes at a decent hour, and even when the pub was filled with people, I did not hear any sounds from the pub while in my room, although there was no live music being played during my stay).
I absolutely loved staying at The Devonshire and would stay there again in a heartbeat. My sole piece of CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK is that there was some kind of emergency security system right above the door of my room. The system had a bright green light that remained lit at all times, making it difficult for a lodger to darken the room entirely when all the room lights are off. As it is likely a necessary security/safety device, there may not be much that can be done to address the light. If nothing else, lodgers who prefer sleeping without a green night light should consider packing a sleeping mask.

I very much loved my stay at the Devonshire and already look forward to returning again in the future. The location is wonderful, situated in the main village square in beautiful Grassington. It is within walking distance to the National Park Tourism Centre with beautiful walks down to Linton Falls and the amazing Dales Way path. The property itself is beautiful inside and out. You can really see how much care is taken in ensuring it is a wonderful experience for guests. Furthermore, the nods to All Creatures Great and Small throughout the property is fantastic. The food is excellent. I had an evening meal and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast - both were delicious home cooked meals made with local and quality ingredients. To top it all off, the staff are absolutely brilliant. You get such a friendly and warm welcome from the moment you walk through the doors, they take the time to know your name and talk to you, it’s the little things that make a big difference and this team have truly got it right. Thank you so much to all of the wonderful staff.

The staff was friendly and attentive! The breakfast was a great selection of meals as was dinner. I would ensure you make reservations for dinner as it is a very popular place! We were in the Tristan Farnon room which I had heard was smaller, but honestly it was quite roomy for two. We had a very comfortable bed! The new decore is lovely and fits the era of the inn. Lovely natural light too. Great hub for exploring All Creatures filming locations!
It is a bar, so Wednesday night there was a group of men performing which must’ve been just under our room. But they were done by 10 pm and we actually got a kick out of hearing their American classic rock songs :).

when we arrived we were met by a lovely lad behind the bar who checked us in and showed us to our room, the room was spotless clean quite a small room for a suite so was glad didn’t go for a standard room..we booked to have a meal in restaurant unfortunately i was feeling very unwell so didn’t eat mine but my wife loved hers..we then went up to bed around 9.30pm but unfortunately could not get to sleep due to the music downstairs in the pub it was very loud and this went on until after 12 so not great..the bed was not the most comfy either and think the mattress either needs upgrading felt quite cheap..felt super tired in the morning due to a restless night then went down for breakfast was a good breakfast but not very hot by any means..the restaurant staff were great very polite and helpful and the bar staff were so lovely engaging in to conversation with us even though they were incredibly busy…the ales and lagers are vast you won’t struggle to choose a drink there is a very wide choice even soft drinks..just wish we could of got a good nights sleep..so if your planning on going on sat night please bare in mind they maybe a dj on until late if you want a relatively early night because you will struggle to get to sleep before 12 at night
the bed was not comfy but personal choice to everyone in that one..the music seemed to go on quite late i’m sure it was after 12 before they turned it off..

Our room was beautiful, really comfortable, well equipped and the bathroom felt luxurious. The staff had also taken the time to ensure that we had access to an iron and ironing board in our room already when we arrived as we mentioned we were staying for a wedding. The pub also had an amazing selection of beers and live music on the Friday night, felt very welcoming.
Couldn't fault the room but considering the price per night the breakfast was a little underwhelming, the scrambled eggs for example were quite powdery for our tastes. The service from staff however was brilliant and they were on hand for top ups of tea etc which was much appreciated!

Lovely traditional pub in a perfect location. Breakfast was very good and attention to detail given with the All creatures great and small theme. Room was a very good size and well equipped with comfy beds and good quality fluffy towels. Staff were all very welcoming and attentative. Would stay again.
Could be a little cheaper but think I paid a premium as it was the last room available for the next few days and between Christmas and New year. Live music could be heard from the room but not too bad. Mould around shower tiles could be removed easily with bleach and a toothbrush to make it as clean and perfect as the rest of the bathroom.

While the stairs were difficult to climb with heavy luggage, the room was as pictured and quite comfortable. Lovely old hotel and pub. The village was very quaint and exactly what we expected. Staff was welcoming and very friendly.
The food in the restaurant was not very good. We had dinner the first night there; it wasn't great. Breakfast wasn't very good either. I would say for the price charged for B&B they should step up their cookery
