I only stayed for one night, but the hostel made a great impression on me - staff were very kind and helpful, I was allowed to store my belongings at the reception before the check-in. Notably, the hostel is very clean and quiet. Showers and toilets are comfortable to use. My bed was rather pleasant and allowed me for a good night sleep. Each bed had two outlets and a small light next to it. There was also a cabinet for each person in the room (you have to bring your own locker). For the breakfast I chose the continental option (pastry, cereal ect.) and was satisfied. There is also a communal kitchen and a TV room available for the residents. Obviously, the location is great :) Overall, I had a great experience and would definetly stay again!

I was attracted to this place simply because the price, £20per night for a bed. its located right in the centre of the village, next to a couple of pubs, which is good. The place is well maintained and clean. Staff were great. Breakfast was better than I expected and although it £10, its worth the money.

OK, you have to share a room with strangers, not ideal, but for £20PPN its a good option particularly for solo travelers. Walls are a bit thin, and sound travels, particularity from a groups of friends in other rooms who stay up late/get up early.

For the money it was a great place to stay. It's a hostel so dont expect luxury. But it was clean, beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped, and the staff were helpful. They sold a lot of things in the shop as well, and rented towels which was helpful. There was also a bike shed which was helpful. Its a quiet area great for walking and cycling. A little bit off the Way of the Roses route if you're cycling, but not too bad,

The village itself has little conveniences. There are a couple of pubs, one of them does good food and cheeses.

The staff were very friendly. Especially Luke who stayed late after his shift to give us hiking advice. They offered breakfast and a great cup of coffee. The rooms were very large and comfortable for two people. The facilities were clean. We appreciated the drying room after a wet day of hiking. Would definitely come back.

WiFi wasn’t the best but did the job.

Friendly and informative welcome. Warm, very clean. Comfortable lounge and bar drinks. Great cooked breakfast, tasty sausages. Drying room really did dry our shoes and the excellent and thoughtful addition of newspaper to stuff in our shoes.. We'll stocked, easy to use self catering kitchen. Excellent location for walking the Peninne way.

The location cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at The breakfast and the staff during breakfast was amazing Very comfortable bed Free parking Very quiet The self-service kitchen area

The staff during the night check in said 'we make food only when we have time, we are preparing for a group coming in 5 days'. This came across being lazy as the hostel info said we have a choice of dinner at the hostel and there was two members of staff at the time. Not a big deal but for people who have no cars /check in after 7 pm can be left without food as the nearest town is 11 miles away and no local shops nearby. Kindly make it clear in the hostel information during booking about this. Also will be nice for staff especially at night/evening to have information of closing time of pubs in the area.

Never stayed at YHA before and pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, even the shared facilities. Nice cooked breakfast in the morning and free parking. I've stayed in some expensive hotels that weren't this good.

There could be better lighting outside. The approach road was very dark and had to use the torch on my phone.

Staff were extremely efficient and helpful. The general atmosphere amongst visitors was relaxed, everyone willing to help one another. Though busy, it didn't feel crowded.

Little not to like. For those travelling by car parking was an issue, but it was only a short walk from the village car park.

Breakfast was hot, freshly prepared and delicious, plus there was so much to choose from.Bonus points from us because our kids loved it! The location was perfect, just set off from the main road and still in the heart of Malham. We were close enough to enjoy all that Malham village has to offer on an evening and the wonderful trails to Gordale Scar and Malham Cove during the day. The staff at YHA were always smiling and made us feel very welcome, they were really wonderful and helpful with any queries we had. Our private room was a great size for us, a family of 4. The shared bathroom and kitchen facilities were clean and everything worked! We spent a couple of hours in the lounge playing some of the board games. Although some were a little dated and worse for wear, we had lots of fun and laughs. The boys have learned lots of new games which we will be enjoying at home for years to come.

There were lots of spiders and webs in one of the shared toilets, and some in our room unfortunately. But we are ended up not minding too much in the end. Bonus - our kids aren’t so afraid of spiders anymore!

Brilliant location, parking easy and wash basin in our room. Lovely staff and they collect, save and label all lost property. Mine was waiting for me a few days later! Thanks!

I’m not a seasoned bunk bedder but even still, some protective foam or something for the one part of the metal bed frame (front entry/exit) that I seemed whack my head on , would be very helpful and a lot less painful indeed.
