Big comfortable beds, big room, good location. The breakfast is also good and plentiful considering the size of the dining room, freshly prepared juices, good coffee, we only missed a little more fresh vegetables. Very friendly staff at the reception and in the dining room.
The problem of parking - but we knew that in advance. Very small and slow elevators - it can be a problem for those with a lot of luggage. Perhaps the cleaning could be improved a little, especially the floor, but in general we were very satisfied. .

It was great to have a family room option as we have 2 young children and not every hotel offers this. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a retro games room which our kids absolutely loved. The hotel is not right in the central tourist area, but all the major sights were only about a 15-20 minute walk away and we didn't mind at all.
Parking was a bit tricky as there were no spaces in the closer parking garage, so we had to go to the one around the corner and even with some discount as hotel guests, it was 24 euros for 1.5 days which was more expensive than other Spanish cities we stayed in. There was a loading bay right in front of the hotel though, which was great for loading and unloading suitcases!

The location is brilliant, just on the outskirts of the Historic District and about 15 minutes walk to the Port (the furthest point). The underground parking garage is accessed from the street at the back of the hotel but there is a pedestrian door into the hotel itself. Breakfast was better on the Sunday than the Monday but it was still good: Bread, rolls, a toaster, yoghurt (both dairy and soy) whole fruits, juice, chopped bowls of fruit salad, boiled eggs, salami, cheeses, hot cooked items, cake, pain au chocolate etc. A lot of variety and good quality. The bed was comfortable and the room dark, shower hot and powerful with a normal and rainforest shower head. Bathroom was tiny but adequate. Receptionists were helpful with city information. The lift worked fine Cartagena is a fabulous city and I'd stay here again.
There was supposed to be WiFi throughout the hotel but it did not work on my floor or in my room for the duration of my stay. I did tell staff 3 times and it was not rectified. I could do everything I needed sitting in reception and they did deliver a cut fruit platter to my room as an apology.

Definitely would use this hotel on another visit to cartegena. Very well located. There are lots of local places to eat and drink without having to walk down to the main part of the city. Also a few lovely plazas for a coffee or a drink just to relax. The hotel reception staff were all nice. Our room was a queen 805 and we were completely satisfied. A sizeable room and an excellent walkin shower. We were happy with everything. There us no view but we didn't care because we were out exploring all day anyway. There is a mini fridge, tea abd coffee facilities, and if you forget your toiletries they have provided all those as well. As with so many hotels there was no mirror other than in the bathroom so to do hair and makeup was in there and no long mirror to see outfit. Small niggle but loads of hotels are the same. A really good hotel, a really good price, great location fur everything. Parking is in La Lonja underground parking. The hotel give you a 15% discount ticket to use when you leave. Its easy to find and a very short walk to the hotel. Expensive but then city break parking always is.
Wish list...full length mirror would be great

The hotel was absolutely perfect for our short stay in Cartagena with family. The location is convenient and just a short walk from all the popular tourist areas in the city centre. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating with check-in requirements and were helpful. The room was spacious, well equipped, clean, comfortable beds and had all the amenities you would need. Overall, excellent value and a great option for a family of 4 visiting Cartagena.
No complaints, we were happy with our stay at Sercotel Carlos III and would be glad to stay there again.

The air-conditioning in summer worked perfectly and kept the room temperature nice and cool. The staff were extremely welcoming and very professional. The room was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and had more than enough choices.
I guess the immediate surroundings of the hotel is less 'pretty', the view from some of the windows is either the street or back yards to other flats. However this doesn't take away from the quality of the stay and access to the cities attractions.

It is a modest property but one that is spot-on with my expectations. A remarkable rate is what drew me to it - and it proved to be a property that doesn't over-promise. It has comfortable rooms with an efficient staff. A good breakfast and a convenient location to the parking garage for our car. They have rather less noise that the Alfonso III Hotel they also own.
It has rather limited options for dining. Not the fault of the hotel but just where it is located. Could use some more options like vending machines or a small kitchen for later in the day. Room service is available in the evening but is rather limited.

Staff at the reception, Rocio, Jose, and especially, Alfonso. They were all super kind and the suggestions were great. Also the breakfast buffet and staff were outstanding; they had a little trolley with kids' stuff like sweets, cookies and colorful plates and glasses.
Nothing at all. It'll be our place to stay in Cartagena in the future.

We did not have breakfast so can not comment. The staff were all friendly . The person we saw most was Isabel on front desk spoke perfect English and very friendly. We met some cleaning staff on the Saturday and Sunday again very friendly. The hotel was very clean We could not fault anything. Friendly ,clean ,comfortable ,bathroom had all basics needed a good hotel central easy to get to around. We enjoyed it very much
For us nothing we enjoyed everything If there was one thing and it is a silly thing more hangers, anywhere we go there are never enough

we found parking on the street, check in the front desk to find out about the color coding for resident permit parking and street parking. Parking could be real issue otherwise as the hotel does not have its own parking lot.
The views from the room were really run down old apartment buildings. But then Cartagena is a city that is very industrial to its military base. The city seemed to be Spain from the 1970ies. Lots of the historic area unfortunately falling apart. Lots of bohemian / industrial charme though.
