Breathtaking view of lake from bedroom & amazing scenery of hotel grounds.Spacious room, was so peaceful & excellent breakfast not to mention quick service. Like the idea of staggering breakfast times for guests. One of the best hotel breakfasts ive had! John is a lovely host & very accomodating!! Old features of building & rooms retained which gave it a lovely cosy victorian feel

As it is an old historic building understand floors maybe slightly at a slope which meant bed also sloping when laying down. Toilet door lock was off centre so couldnt lock or close fully was always ajar (Rm5) Salt & pepper would be nice on breakfast table. Drive upto car park alittle tight not enough room for 2 cars- oncoming would need to reverse or vice versa. Not bad things just improvments. Despite this shall defo recommend & stay again!!

Dale was a fantastic host and couldn’t have done enough for us. He kindly informed us we’d been upgraded to a nicer room which had an amazing view of Thirlmere with a patio and asked us for any dietary requirements for breakfast. We told him we’re both vegan but didn’t expect much, they actually took the time to nip out and get some vegan sausages and oat milk. We had an oat meal porridge with toast for breakfast which was really nice however there were other options available. Breakfast doesn’t usually start til 08:15 which would have meant we wouldn’t have had time to eat on our last day due to an activity we had booked early morning. I spoke to Dale the evening before and he was able to see to us at 8 so we could make it. Great experience, we will definitely come back

Nit-picking here but the breakfast room could do with a little music or something as it’s quite a small room and can be a bit awkward dining with other guests very close in an echoing room. Everything else was perfect.

All the staff were very attentive and friendly. The property is by a lake and has a well-maintained garden with incredible views across the lake to the hills on the other side. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of food available. They also provided me with a vegan breakfast as requested. Our room was in a part of the property from the 1570s and you could feel the history.

It was a great hotel for visiting the Lakes so I have no complaints. But, in an ideal world, faster WiFi would be good. And a smart TV with access to catchup TV, YouTube, etc.

Conversations with the very friendly manager, who cooked us a fine evening meal and talked with us about the history of the place. Breakfast was also wonderful - best bacon that my wife has ever had cooked for her! Wonderful location, where we had a good walk in the grounds the next morning, before we left. Beautiful views of Thirlmere. Very comfortable and clean room, and bathroom. Facilities all worked well. We loved the uneven floors, originality and character of the place, including the 2000 extension. Convenient, onsite, nearby free parking. Great value for money!

Nothing, to be honest. We will look for a chance to stay again. Sorry that you want a little more, but nothing else needs to be said!!

Dale greeted us when we first arrived and talked us through breakfast times, took us to the room and gave us some tips on where to visit and the local area. The guy who served us at breakfast (didn’t catch his name) was so friendly and breakfast was served very quickly and it was lovely! The room was clean and tidy, comfortably bed slept very well and nice and quiet. Loved this place and the family vibe and would definitely recommend to others plus look to re book in the future

Nothing - everything was great

This hotel is situated literally lake side. Wow !! The grounds were magnificent , exceptionally well maintained with chairs and tables outside overlooking the lake , We had a lakeside room with 2 large windows overlooking the lake . The room was spotless ! And was beautifully decorated. Large bath , shower pressure was a bit slow. Breakfast was delicious, the dining room overlooking the lake . Lovely host and staff.

There was nothing not to like .

Setting and the quaint peaceful grounds. Nice and homely & the manager was really helpful and welcoming. Check in and out easy and nice selected times for breakfast. Clean towels and bedding.

Perhaps more condiments for breakfast (great times though) was very last minute for a Saturday. Finding the main reception was tricky from outside when getting dark. WiFi limited from the room due to phone signals being weak. Nice to have that peace and quiet however may be needed for some people organising their days.

This is a lovely old manor house, with a beautiful view over Thirlmere reservoir, set back from the road in an extremely tranquil setting. The breakfast is all freshly cooked by the staff to order with a selection of traditional English breakfast dishes on offer. The room that we had was spacious with comfortable chairs and bed and an en-suite bathroom.

Nothing.

A beautiful and tranquil location, a hidden gem Lovely accommodation and very cosy, spacious, comfortable and well furnished. Views from windows were amazing. Accommodation is well placed for trips and days out. It was a nice surprise to get upgraded on arrival.

Don't like to be nit picky but feedback is as follows Towels provided were fraying and worn which looked shabby. It would have been nice to have a Welcome folder with some local information and tourist info.

A fantastic location with views over Thirlmere and the fells opposite and easy access to some beautiful walks and Thirlmere. The welcome I received was warm and friendly. I was taken to my room and given advise on how to walk down to Thirlmere. Breakfast was exceptional. Easy access to Keswick, Grasmere and Ambleside with loads of fantastic walks close by. The bus stops a 5 minute walk away and it's an easy drive with parking on site.

I couldn't stay longer and hadn't known about Dale Head Hall Lakeside Hotel sooner..... I didn't try the bar but it looked inviting
