I normally stay in modern hotels, but this was fine for the night. clean, secure, comfortable. the husband and wife management team are very nice and friendly. plenty of decent restaurants right next to the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 5 minute walk from the train station. 8 minute walk from the bus station. The air conditioning was very good. 24 hour reception.

not enough charging points in the room for tourists these days (we have 3 devices each!!). maybe a second pillow for 2nd guest would be good. I probably would have chosen a different hotel for a 2-3 night stay but it’s fine for 1 night.

Maybe not appealing from the outside but this is a lovely small budget hotel in easy reach of the station and not far to walk into the city. The room was a reasonable size and very clean , nice bathroom with good quality towels and bedlinen. The staff were really friendly and helpful, giving advice and booking a taxi for us the the airport. There are plenty of cafes in the area so we ate breakfast at 'Nelson' which was recommended by the reception staff. Areas around stations can be a bit unpleasant but here it was fine and we felt very safe both day and night.

Nothing really - getting to the upper floors is best by lift and although I'm a bit claustrophobic it was fine and made me wonder what I was worrying about !

The hotel is around 20 minutes away from the airport. As we landed the bus to the city left and the next one was 3 hours away. The only option was taxi, which costs 45 euros. But if you find fellow travelers (who also search for cheaper ways of transportation) Taxi would be divided through the number of passengers. The hotel is located 3 minutes away from bus/train station - very convenient. The walk to the old city (including to all Game of thrones places) is a 20 minutes relaxed walk, it’s on the other side of the River. The hotel itself is little and cosy. Overall no big complaints. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. There is no breakfast at the hotel and no good place close. Pillows are a little hard. But if you plan to stay there 1-2 nights, it’s perfectly ok. If you search for Budget but tasty food, Visit Bali fresh bar restaurant for lunch and König chain restaurant for dinner, both 5 min walk from the hotel.

Toilet downstairs in lobby was broken. Pillows were hard.

Great location in the centre of town. Nice clean hotel with basic comfortable clean rooms. Clean towels, powerful shower, comfortable sheets. Spare blankets available. Friendly and helpful staff.

We could smell that other rooms were smoking rooms, though ours was fine. A guest in a neighbouring room was up all night making noise, although this was not the fault of the hotel and was just baxd luck, thicker walls would have helped.

I was so impressed by the fact that I was able to check in really early without having to pay any extra fee Staff were so nice! excellent location, very close to the train station, good water pressure in the shower, and I appreciated having the outlet very close to the bed. I also arrived to Girona very late as my train was delayed by over an hour and I appreciated the front desk being open.

some street noise that filterd through to my room late at night, but that's not the fault of the hotel.

Hotel Europa is very comfortable and super-convenient small hotel. Its close to Girona train station and the old city - just across the river. The reception staff were so very helpful and friendly at all times. The room was basic but large, clean and comfortable, and the bathroom spacious. The cost was most reasonable.

The only issue that could do with attention is there appears to be a damp problem in the hotel stairwells.

Great location! Had air conditioning so finally could sleep with windows closed! Staff was great!

Air conditioning was so nice but in the quadruple room it wasn’t quite enough to be cool but enough to keep windows closed. The one issue is the key in slot means when you leave and take the key, you also lose air conditioning so you lose the cooling you may have acquired and start all over again. Room is very outdated. Not terrible though and location outweighed decor. :)

The beds and the pillows were new and amazing, we had a very good rest there and I think I had the best shower in my life. Marvellous. The location is pretty good too, just 5 min from the city centre and the train station, so it's perfect for travellers / tourists. Also the room had a balcony which was an extra bonus. The personnel was very nice and pleasant, as all the stay in general. Very good experience.

The curtains were very dusty, I am not sure they've ever washed them. I wanted to open the balcony, touched the curtains and I could feel the dust on my fingers. The furniture was also dusty, like the headboard or the table drawers. Also it's quite an old building and it just smells old inside.

Hotel Europa is located a short direct walk from the train and bus station (we caught the bus from the airport). Arrived early and the lovely staff kept our bags for us then put them in the room for 1.00pm. Large room with balcony and very large bathroom. It's a short walk over the river into the Old Town. Cafe Oasis over the road in the corner serves a good breakfast (closed Sundays). Lots of excellent restaurants in town including Brots de Vi on the C. Cort-Reial. Girona is such a lovely city; walk the walls, see the Arab Baths and visit the architects house Fundacio Raphael Maso (book by ringing the doorbell). Oh and the Cathedral of course. Then go back to the railway station and get the AVE train to anywhere in Spain - the trains are truly fantastic (book via The Trainline for the best deals- it's easy). Many thanks to Hotel Europa for making the firsts two days of our adventure so special.
