The staff were lovely and welcoming and the old building is attractive and dignified. Breakfast was very good. Best of all was the location in the amazing old town of Laguardia, set on a hilltop in the heart of Rioja Alicante. We could easily reach the Balcon de Rioja (fantastic views) and the beautiful, quiet mountains of the Sierra de la Demanda. Don’t miss Frank Gehry’s funky hotel en route. The other amazing Bodega, Ysios, can be seen from the eastern car park for the town. Also watching town clock on the hour is quite a thing.

Well, you meed to park outside the old town walls and trundle your suitcases to the hotel. It isn’t far and we were prepared for this but wouldn’t suit some people.

Character, style of the accommodation. Felt like we’re in the old castle, because we almost were, it’s a beautiful historic building in a walled village of Laguardia. At the same time, the room is well equipped and modern, comfortable to stay.

Lack of natural light in our particular room (small window faced an internal wall), but wasn’t a big issue as it was only noticeable in the morning when we got up, as we were out all day.

Very cute, historic inn and winery close to everything in the town, including one of the gates near the parking areas, which are all outside the city walls. The husband-wife team that runs the hotel was very helpful and it was a nice bonus to have a great restaurant and a working, historic winery in the hotel. Everything was fantastic and we would stay there again.

The owner and the staff were amazing with us, they took time to explain us about the wine area, their wines, the town, the history. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The property was lovely, it was ancien style as from 1619 but very well kept so it had all the facilities to make the experience wonderful.

There was nothing we didn’t like

This city is beautiful and the hotel is in a perfect location.

The beds were hard and there was not a view out of our window. I guess that was to be expected from a hotel within a walled city,

We had an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant, staff was great, lots of good food and wine. Our room was great, very comfortable bed, a little noisy from the outside terrace hotel cafe that was right below us, however once the windows were closed it was quite quiet. We did not have breakfast in the hotel, as there were many nice cafes to choose from in the area.

We did not realize we could not drive up to the hotel and drop off our luggage. There was no parking inside the gated town, we had to find parking on the street and walk over the cobblestones with our luggage. Also, finding the hotel was definitely a challenge, as our Google maps kept taking us in circles. However, once we found the hotel and were settled, we were fine. There is not elevator in this hotel, fortunately we were on the first floor.

Everything was great! The room was big with a comfy bed and bathroom adequate. The food in the hotel was really good and we did a wine tour with the owner which was really enjoyable. The hotel was really old with lots of character and the wine cellar was amazing underneath it!

Stayed 2 nights with a friend, rooms 23 & 24. Great hotel with friendly & attentive staff. Lovely meal with their own wine in their Bodega one night - food and wine was very good. Both rooms reasonable size, although the beds were on the firm side. Secure underground parking available approx 5 minutes walk away. I'd definitely stay here again if in the area.

Amazing hotel, in a building that's 400 years old. Our bed was enormous and really comfortable. We loved to massive old beams and the patina of age on the floor tiles. The town is gorgeous to wander around and would be fabulous for wine lovers.

The shower is in a bath and a bit of a tight squeeze so might be an issue for those with mobility problems.

The managers of the property went out of their way to ensure that our family was comfortable and accommodated. The room was more than big enough for us and our luggage. The wine from the hotel’s vineyard is delicious.
