From the behaviour of all their staffs, to cleanliness and the huge breakfast spread - everything was perfect! Me and my spouse are currently travelling around the world full time on a $100/day budget as a couple and this hotel was the perfect stay considering the value we got. The front desk person was so nice, she upgraded our basic room to their newly renovated smart room for free of charge. And their breakfast options are great and so is the food quality! We opted for their SPA service - booked for an hour of aromatherapy in their Spa room, which is basically a normal hotel room in their building. Unfortunately, though the massage was good, there was no aroma in the room. Music is also not proper, so that expereince could have been better especially when all other things are so well maintained in the hotel.

My stay at Hotel Minimal was delightful. The simplistic yet elegant decor creates a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a comfortable stay. The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and offer all necessary amenities. The customer service is exceptional, with friendly and professional staff always ready to assist. Quick responses to requests further enhance the experience. Not to mention, the delicious and varied meals served at the hotel add to the enjoyment. Overall, this hotel is an ideal choice for those seeking affordable and comfortable accommodation. I highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area.

Spacious room, clean, complimentary shampoo/body lotion/toothbrush, clean nice big towels, clean and big bed, work desk, big tv, AC working great, water dispensers in every hallway so you can always get water if you are thirsty. Very nice staff. Gym is ok, small but ok for a quick workout just to keep moving while on vacation/business trip. Breakfast is great, very big buffet, lots of choices, very nice people working there. Location is great, walk 10-15 minutes everywhere we liked or drove with Grab in 10 minutes everywhere else that was not walkable (malls, Malioboro street, etc.). Oh and great water pressure and hot water!!! Finally!!

Terrific service all around. I stayed for few days kind of jn between places and took advantage of room service, restaurant, laundry and all was great. My twin room was spacious enough for me and the bathroom was nice. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Generally a very quiet hotel despite it getting quite busy on weekends and during events. Walking distance to restaurants.

Breakfast can get quite crowded on weekends. But it only means just waiting a few minutes for a table.

Staff are great. Friendly and efficient. Rooms of high standard with all the usual facilities. Excellent food in the restaurant but expensive beer ( compared to Bali ). Three very fast lifts so minimal wait times. There is a pool and I think a gym but didn't get to use either. Breakfast buffet is exceptionally good with huge choice of Western and Indonesian food. Hotel held our bags during an overnight trip to Borobudur.

About 4 km from train station but on a frequent bus route. Reasonably close to the actual kraton complex but long way from ticket office/entrance.

Second one night stay between trip to Borobudur. Stored our bags for us whilst away. Very comfortable room with all the usual amenities. This time tried the buffet. Good choice of dishes but needed to be a bit hotter - typical of buffets. Very reasonable price. Very good buffet breakfast. No decaf coffee but I brought my own. Becak drivers out front for cheap and easy trip to the train station or kraton/palace.

Couple of screaming kids on our floor but not near our room luckily. Only heard and saw them when waiting for the lift.

It was a comfy hotel, and overall ok

I found the room a bit dark in my opinion, also I asked for water, and they told me it was not included in the price of my room (in the rest of the hotels it was always included) true that they had a jug which you could fill in in the corridor outside in a fountain but I found it a bit strange. Also the fact that the swimming pool is right in the restaurant's terrace so if you want to have a swim, there will be people having their breakfast looking at you, which also I found strange

Quite standard - room is comfortable and clean - water dispenser! No bottled water, yay! - very thoughtful welcome drink at the lobby. When we arrived, it was warm ans they served citrus water. When we came back on a rainy day, they served hot ginger tea. - near sultan palace

- would love to have better quality shampoo and body wash. They dun foam well and washing my long hair and body was difficult. - swimming pool is small - the in-hotel massage place is a little dubious. Their pamplet is in the room and lobby, but the massage place location was not specified. Have to go to the lobby for them to bring us into a hotel room on level 2. Although there is a stand that writes the massage place name, it is not stated on the lift floor. Masseuses were very unprofessional - they were watching tv and msging on phone while massaging and cut short the time. Booked 30 min foot massage, they started late but ended right on time. Overall, i would still choose this hotel when i come to Yogyakarta, just stay clear from the massage place.

Car reader on our door didn’t work properly but the staff put us in another room. Swimming pool was out dated and needs renovation Pillows were a bit too high, would have been good to have a mix of different pillows

The hotel was one of the most hospitable hotel I have ever been to. All the staff were very friendly, smiling faces and helpful. Their service was top notch customer oriented. They pay attention to every need and detail of the customer, especially Yoshi who even remembered what we liked to have as drinks. All the offered amenities were also really good. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to Yogyakarta!
