Convenient location to most shops. Walking distance to Kumamoto castle, the staff were friendly and helpful.

If you are driving, the Affiliated public car park is quite a distance away. No stopping in front of hotel to unload luggages and passengers. You have to park your car first and drag your luggages all the way to the hotel.

OMO5 Kumamoto is a fantastic choice with its great location—the shopping arcade is right downstairs, and Kumamoto Castle is within a 20-minute walk. The room is beautifully designed, with a well-structured, thoughtful layout that includes cute lamps and attention to every detail, creating a cozy and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. The self-check-in system made the process smooth, though better English proficiency at reception would improve communication.

Breakfast is café-style with a limited menu of Western options—delicious but lacking the variety of a buffet or any Japanese dishes, which was a bit surprising. A mixed breakfast option would enhance the experience. However, check-in starts strictly at 3 PM, with no flexibility for early check-in. Additionally, the dryer on the reception floor was ineffective, leaving my clothes still damp after washed. Overall, a well-designed and convenient hotel, but with a few areas for improvement.

Beautiful hotel overall, from reception to the rooms, everything was well designed. Super clean, shower head pressure was amazing even though the head itself was small. Awesome location, walking distance from the Kumamoto castle and right across the road from a tram stop that takes you to Kumamoto station. A range of shops right at your doorstep

Didn't make the beds when we returned after the first day, only towels were replaced which isn't really considered a room clean. Rooms are small space where you can actually use your suitcase is tiny due to tatami mats taking up most of the floor space, although this is nice it isn't practical.

Everything was fine, only the laundry service left a bit to be desired, the dryer didn't work very well. It was just 3 pieces of clothing and it took an hour but they still looked wet.

You come here for the price and you fall for the design. Smart contemporary Japanese beloved by both locals and aliens. The cafe and its quite large terrace are nice, and the locker room for your suitcase is a good idea indeed. Last but not least, location is better than good.

Why is there staff at all if their only job is to watch you check in on your own? Bring some earplugs in case your room is located on the very busy and noisy street.

Cannot fault OMO5. It seems like a pretty new hotel. Location was superb, right next to pretty much the centre and all shops, stores and Kumamoto Castle. Room was quite spacious and clean and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Carpark wasn't onsite and you had to pay for parking but it wasn't expensive so not a deal breaker.

Simple yet scrumptious food. The ambiance on the balcony was top-notch. The team was exceptionally welcoming. We stayed in the room with the loft bed and a couch beneath. I was so taken by the comfort and cleanliness of the couch that I dozed off on it the very first night. The bed too was snug and spotless. Situated centrally and adjacent to Kumamoto castle, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

There was nothing I did not like.

Love the atmosphere of the hotel, like to sit around the lobby and outdoor balcony. So relaxing. Highly recommend to the friends who are going to visit Kumamoto, surely will be back again soon.

No onsite carpark is an issue, as we need to park a bit away from hotel (5 mins walk) Under good weather is not problem, but the days we started there is rainy, so trouble.

The location (near to the tram lines and many shops/restaurants), the room which was modern and traditional at the same time, big and functional, the staff, very kind and the bar with the terrace who helped us enjoy a beautiful stay in Kumamoto

Great modern design. Love the room but didn’t have option of double bed but interesting design with table in the centre which was very usable. Not ideal for couple Location of hotel very close to Kumamoto castle which was the main highlight of the trip here
