The room was larger than i expected, clean and well presented.
The TV did not work. I would have liked a better range of hot drinks eg drinking chocolate, and some biscuits. Because it was a cold day I would have liked to room to be warmer. I turned up thermostat but it took a long time to warm up Not in my room, but i did have an accident in the reception are due to a damaged chair. This was dealt with efficiently by the receptionist, and the chair remived

The Staples is a gem of comfort. Its a re-invention of the Premier inn - the previous owners - the beds, the linen, the towels are all new - top quality - much more comfortable than the occasional four star hotel I have stayed in. The staff I met Anna and Julie on reception. They knew so much about their 41 room occupants and really did their best for them. I was so impressed. It's a real credit to them and the organisation that 83% of bookings are re-turners. My charge was on a par with premier inn .. for a double the normal charge of such comfort. I would love to visit after the next refurbishment (decoration, bathrooms, carpets). Very best wishes The Staples - I am so pleased I found you. Thank you best wishes David

Ease of checking in.
One thing that the hotel didn't have control over was a guests alarm that woke us at six. They must have already left for breakfast as it went on for almost an hour. The other was when we came back from breakfast at Toby Carvery I wasn't happy to see workers who were erecting marquees for Aintree working around my car to the point I had to wait for them to move lengths of aluminium extrusion etc. before I could move my car. The hotel must have given permission for them to use the car park and could have cordon off an area.

Cheap and cheerful overnighter. Free parking is a blessing and the train station straight into the city centre is right accross the road ( £8 return!). A much cheaper option than paying city centre hotel prices, staff pleasant and really helpful . toby carvery and kfc next door.
Its no biggy but we had to call reception as couldnt get the tap to turn off in the bath. It just needed abit more force than we were giving it lol... and it was sorted straight away so no issue .

Very clean and good TV able to get YouTube and other apps which is unusual for a hotel but very modern. I like the design as it made the room appear bigger and spacious which is important in a family room.
The beds were not comfy at all and the shower was old fashioned. It could do with more plugs aswell if it’s a family room with only 2 plugs that were taken up anyway by the kettle and other facilities.

Very clean and comfortable room. Very quiet considering next-door to Aintree racecourse during the National meeting. Staff on reception helpful and polite. Parking is also a major plus!
After reserving a room for a couple of nights for April 2025, I received notification that the booking was cancelled, which was extremely disappointing as at the time of booking, there was plenty of availability and the hotel should of honoured the booking.

Location is good for easy access to other areas in the northwest. The hotel rules about noise seem to work quite well too which meant a quiet night for sleeping
A little bit worn and grubby though effort had been put in to paint etc. the dust accumulated behind the bathroom door on the floor and the stain marks around the bath/shower were a little off putting but other to that the bed was comfortable and there is nice space in the room itself

Only stayed 1 night, didn't have breakfast. Was very impressed with the price & location and how it was literally right on top of aintree racecourse for ridiculously cheap! The room was lovely, all colour coordinated and had all the amenities you need for a stay, including a hairdryer! Linen was clean, other than a few marks on the cushion on the chaise lounge and some debris on the carpet in the corner of the room, everything else was perfect! The bedding was just right, not too thick or too thin, but the mattress wasn't the most comfortable, a few springs poking you in the back, but we still slept alright once settled, area wasn't too noisy either.
There was one thing which I didn't really like, for some reason, the room we passed when going to the foyer, when you passed if an overwhelming smell of cannabis hit you in the face.

Fantastic staff. I was awoken early hours by a noisy hotel guest in the room next door. I called reception they went and spoken to him, the next morning I went to reception and was moved as requested. Spotlessly clean. Reasonable price. Excellent location.
Homeless people being housed here. I asked reception if this was happening because there were people hanging round outside when I arrived. Reception confirmed that this has happened on occasion. Social services are using booking.com to book rooms without hotel knowing and hotel are having to deal with consequences of homeless people staying.

Location and availability of parking even with the Racecourse having an event on two of the three day stay. Staff was respectful even mentioning thing that we might of missed out with the breakfast charge but we had already paid for so I was really greatful to at least offer
Though it was a minor issue but the temperature in the room was too hot and there is no climate control. Had to have the window open which made me abit insecure even with the window locks limiting the amount they can open
