This place is in an excellent location if you're going to the San Jose Convention Center. It was a short walk to get to the convention center in the morning and I passed by several great coffee shops en route. I was there alone on a business trip and felt safe as a single woman walking in the area in the morning. At night, I either walked back with a group of folks who were either staying there or close by, or took a Lyft back if I was further away, so I never walked the area alone at night. There were some lots with construction happening, so I would have felt a little uncomfortable walking by them alone at night but they could be avoided by navigating on the side streets. It was also a lot cheaper than the other hotels in the area, so if you're on a budget, this is worth it.

The hotel is an updated motel. All of the room doors open to the outside courtyard, which is open to the public so there is no real security. You can simply walk into the parking lot and then through the open archways into the courtyard. I stayed on the second floor and didn't find the lock to be very sturdy, so I did lean into my anxiety a little and push a chair up against the door. I would NOT have felt safe staying on the first floor as a single woman. A locking gate on the entrance to the courtyard would go a long way in making it feel much safer. I scored the Facilities a bit lower due to the courtyard situation.

There were many places to have dinner and/or breakfast within walking distance. The front desk was very friendly and attentive and provided great recommendations for where to eat. The room was clean and comfortable with a desk, fridge and microwave. The property was quiet and peaceful.

The only thing i would have preferred was different were the pillows on the bed. I struggled to get comfortable for sleeping with those. they're just really small, square like pillows, maybe a bit wider would be better.

I was in town for the week working at the convention center. So much better than just a tiny hotel room! It’s a quick 6-7 minute walk to the convention center, and I was able to come back to a clean, comfortable, roomy place and always greeted by the friendliest and hardest working staff ever. The mini-fridge is much larger than the average hotel fridge so if you’re there for an extended stay you can stock up on what you need. I loved my stay and really appreciate everything about this property.

I can’t think of anything I would change

The receptionist Nick is a cool guy when me and my friend stayed here. The hotel place is accommodating as stuff like temporary short parking before the day of our check in was pretty sick. Really quiet location, but it is like a 5 min walking distance from the San Jose Convention Center. Location I cannot stress enough is what makes this hotel shine including the small hotel complex feel.

The hotel room itself is pretty bare bones and was pretty obvious that it was on a budget. I personally am a simple person and only need bare essentials, so outside of maybe missing extra sheets lying around (which was accommodated upon request), it is a good baseline experience. Some additional things I noted: - The parking lot is pretty cramped, so maybe call in early to secure a spot - No guests are allowed; 20$ fee per person per night if they stay - This is a small hotel. So as long as you are respectful and reasonable it is a good place to stay

All the great reviews about this place are absolutely true. I was so impressed with the cleanliness, quality and comfort of my room. And the owner(?) at the desk is truly the delight that everyone raved about. So kind, friendly and informative. I felt well cared for. And happily the 2 friends I recommended stay here as well were also very pleased and impressed. Highlights were the comfort of the bed-so important and I slept great!- the very close proximity to the convention center and the surrounding urban area with so many choices for food and entertainment. And of course the man in charge-priceless! I can't say enough good things about this place and I highly and enthusiastically recommend it.

Not a single complaint.

Room is not only clean, but with very comfortable bed, spacious with dining area, everything-is-new bathroom. 2 TVs in single room. But the best of all was hospitality by Nick, the manager!! He was always reachable and so kind.

There are no convenience stores. Some coffee shops around corners but can't find a drug store nearby. But you could order Amazon to the office, and Uber is always available. I'd prefer stay here to spending lots of $$$ in big name hotels.

Excellent place! Clean, spacious rooms in the heart of downtown San Jose. The hotel staff are some of the nicest people you will ever come across. I was only there for one night and while it doesn't have a fitness area, you can't beat the location - including walking distance to great restos - value, and warm reception from the staff. I wouldn't hesitate in booking here again the next time I need to stay in San Jose.

No fitness facilities, but that was just a minor annoyance

This inn is remarkably clean & spotless. Though an older facility, it has new renovation feels and you can tell it is well taken care of. The owner is so kind & fun. He clearly cares about customers, the facility & loves his job. Though it is downtown, it does stay quiet which was a plus. Rooms are spacious and have a desk, chairs, fridge, TV and separated bathroom/sink area. Parking lot is a huge plus as well. I highly recommend this accomodation if you are in San Jose for work or play!
