Location was excellent, breakfast was good, host was friendly and welcoming. Parking our car was convenient on the street. Host communicated by email ahead of time so we knew what to expect

Our room was on the 3rd floor and no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up the steps. Not a problem but might be a concern for some. When we arrived the door was locked. Host had sent a message with the passcode, but we didn't see it until arrival.

Location: It is very close to the city centre, bus station, and 18 minutes walk to the train station. Breakfast: I did not take the breakfast as I had to go to university in the morning. However, the manager was kind to offer me a coffee before I leave and even called me a taxi. It was very kind of him. The staff were lovely and very friendly too. Room: The room is small and suitable for one person. It is an en-suite bedroom with shower. The view was not pleasing, so I had the curtain closed most of the time. The bedroom was warm and comfortable.

Upon arriving at my bedroom, I noticed some dust and hair on the floor and sink. I could not use the kettle and the cups, as these were all dusty and dirty too. The kettle was dirty, as if it were not cleaned properly. I just could not use any of it.

We were staying just one full day so the location was perfect to get around all the sights of the old town easily. The breakfast was ample with a good selection that included gluten free options. Our room had a great view over the wall and surrounding streets. The beds were comfy and the bathroom warm. There is a cosy sitting room.

Being a twin, it was a bit squeezy but we managed. The perfect location comes with a caveat - it is a big walk uphill from the bus station. Lots of stairs in the property so don't book it if you are bringing heavy bags.

From the moment we stepped inside Number 8, we felt at home. Kieran is an excellent host and a warm and funny guy. Our room was gorgeous, lovely attention to details in keeping with the period house, the bed was so comfortable 😍 The bathroom was roomy and had a great shower. Breakfast was ideal, loads of good coffee, and plenty of butter😉. The location just inside the walls is perfect for exploring the city, which is well worth visiting. I can't recommend here highly enough. Thanks a million Kieran!!

I only wish we could have stayed longer and used it as a base for Donegal.

Fabulous location , love this area of the city, and the Playhouse theatre is a few doors away. So central and close to the Derry walls. Lovely comfy room and the family room had a lovely single bed in a corner of its own for my teenager ! Great continental breakfast and chats with the owner Kieran. Would highly recommend a stay at No 8. Make sure you visit the Bogside and the Free Derry Museum !

The parking is a funny business altogether, only 1 hour allowed so no long term parking outside. Handy enough to drop off bags and collect in morning but I would figure out long term parking close nearby as it can become a hindrance to your plans. Derry is a compact city so shouldn't be an issue. Just be aware. 😜

The location is so central, right by the old city walls. Very charming historic house with some old style, which means it is not as spacious but that adds authenticity and charm. Be ready to cozy up with your partner or friend. The best part is Kieran the host, who is a Derry native. If you have any interest in the history of Derry and The Troubles (and you should really read up on it, because it extends internationally), you should chat up Kieran. He is an impressive person with a wealth of international life experiences that are probably worth writing a book about.

The breakfast was pretty basic, but still nice to have.

Right in the centre of Derry with the Derry walls just outside the front door. Continental breakfast was great, lots of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, tea, coffee and various white and brown bread. Kieran was a fantastic host. Full of information about the city.

Well, it’s a small point. The room we had was on top floor which had a lot of stairs. I should have asked for a lower floor as my wife has some mobility issues. I am sure if I had asked, Kieran would have put us in a lower room.

The guesthouse is perfectly located, just inside and overlooking the city wall. Great proximity to pubs, restaurants and shops but very quiet and peaceful. The room was warm, welcoming and comfortable. At breakfast, there was a good number of options and more than enough food and coffee to set me up for the day. Kieran is an excellent host, friendly and very accommodating. I would recommend staying here and will return when I'm next in the city.

The room was nicely decorated with antique furniture and it was right next to the wall which is a nice walk. Our host Kieran was very friendly and the homemade granola and yogurt was delicious

Parking! There was no parking available anywhere in the area and we drove around until we found a spot about a quarter mile from the property. We had to move our car several times until we were able to park in front of the building finally at 6 PM when workers were leaving. our car had to be moved by 9 AM so we just checked out early. Had parking been better, our experience would have been much better and we weren’t prepared for where to park. the location isn’t bad for restaurants, but remember everything closes very early so by the time we were settled in, we didn’t have much time to get dinner.

I travel independently without transport. The hotel is conveniently placed for the bus terminal,a few minutes away, and about 10-15 from the railway station across the river. More importantly, it is located in the historic centre of Derry, within the city walls. Cafes and restaurants, and some lively music pubs, are a short walk. The guided walking tour of the centre and around the walls begins about 2 minutes away. The other essential tour - of the Bogside - currently begins about 7-8 minutes away at the beautiful Guildhall, near the Tourist Office. The owner, Kieran, is a very welcoming host, and provides a good breakfast of cereals, fruit, yoghourt, and tasty breads, tea and coffee. Number 8 is a charming house with very comfortable and cosy ensuite bedrooms.
