Excellent location, walking distance to the White House and the National Mall as well as other museums and restaurants. Easy access to public transportation. The area is VERY well served by buses and is an easy walking distance from two metro stations. Our room was very spacious, quiet and had a very comfortable bed. It had a Lavazza espresso machine with pods (similar to Nespresso) that we absolutely loved!
Housekeeping service was very inconsistent. Sometimes we had missing towels or dish soap, no water glasses, etc. We lost a white t-shirt that probably got scooped up with the bed linen and never found. Lobby service was also not the most helpful, e.g., no help getting a shower cap (why is that not standard toiletries?) or change so we could tip the staff. Also not particularly helpful with answering questions. My other main pet-peeve is the facility fee of $34.76. What is that for? We couldn't even get a tea bag from the lobby and you're charging us a hefty daily fee? That is usually only seen in resorts with tons of amenities.

Location was neither too much central nor too much far from the centre of the city area. Some guest might find the rooms rather "old", but I, having lived in London, UK for several years, found the room something familiar! Frankly speaking I enjoyed spending 4nights in Beacon.
In the morning of the 3rd day, there was water leakage from the celing in the bathroom. Though it did NOT happen again during my stay, worse water leak my happen.

The room was very clean and spacious. Really nice and the pillows were so comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was very friendly as well as helpful.
That there was an additional cost for parking and it wasn't a small fee. As a paying guest it should be free of charge especially in a city where there is no parking.

The hotel room was quite good size-wise for two persons, the bed was comfy and big enough for two friends to sleep beneath each other. Bathroom has been great, except for the slightly dripping sink of our bathtub. Upon report to the hotel reception, they wanted to look into it. It didn't bother us too much, as we closed the bathroom door at night. The nearest metro station is about 12 minute walk away, Farragut West.
The windows are not really sound-proof against noise from outside. It always sounded as if the window was halfway open. It's not been too bad though. Also maybe two separate blankets in the double bed would've been better, we didn't ask for a second one though as we sorted it out ourselves.

The room was really spacious and overall clean and comfortable, good for 3 people staying 4 days, the air conditioner was weird it was not responding well to adapt to the temperature we wanted, coffee machine was great, there were always enough towels and toiletries provided ... at the beginning not enough water was given but from the second day on i
I was having a fever one day and really needed help with a cup of hot water and one of the ladies in the reception was not really prompt to help or provide the correct information, another guy when I came back helped me out!! but I would say in the reception we did experience good treatment and terrible treatment... the ones that did a good job, great!!! but the other ones, terrible!!! =( service needs to improve, that is what you are there for!

The hotel was centrally located within walking distance to a good number of restaurants, store entertainment places. The room was clean, and the place was quiet. The housekeeping ladies were great very friendly and upbeat and whenever I saw them in the hallway they would ask if we needed anything. They kept the area very clean.
The front staff was friendly but did not go above and beyond in any way. The staff did not inform us of any extra's deals they may have in connection with tours, spas or anything about the city. I had read thru the reviews, so I was aware of the hidden fees and that the hotel was an older one.

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, with a spacious room, good wifi, and essential kitchen equipment. The isolation sound from the restroom is not good.
The freezer doesn't work even after requesting assistance at the reception. The isolation sound from the restroom is not good.

The hotel is convenient for those wishing to be close to the White House and other D.C. attractions. For those in good health, walking from the hotel to most D.C. attractions is doable. The facility itself has a rather cozy vibe, and the valet person seemed especially helpful and friendly. The two double-bed suite provided ample room for two travelers, and the beds were comfortable. Overall the place was clean and felt welcoming.
Heads up: For those driving to D.C. parking is $60/night. Although the booking.com listing indicated that the hotel had parking, the cost of parking was not disclosed. It was only upon arrival that I learned of this unexpected, expensive charge. The valet offered a suggestion of an alternative option that may have been less expensive, but I chose to leave my car with the hotel valet for the convenience.

The hotel is very centrally located. I lived in the Dupont area for decades, and this hotel is perfectly positioned between Dupont and downtown. My room had a great view of 17th street.
The lobby was a bit beat up. Nothing was in disrepair, but it could use some love. The 'fitness facility' was just a couple of cardio machines and a consumer grade cable machine.

The housekeeping service was great. They came in every day to make the bed and change the towels. Bottled water was always available and provided daily with housekeeping service. This service far exceeds what I get on the Hilton Honors program, Hilton doesn't give you any water and only provides housekeeping service on the 4th day of your stay unless you have thousands of points. So I would choose Beacon for a return stay in WA DC. Also the staff were all very nice, friendly, and helpful. And the coffee maker in the room and the coffee pods were excellent. That coffee was the best coffee I had in DC outside of 1 coffee shop I ran across.
The WIFI was not great but this is a problem I find in other hotel brands as well. Beacons wifi was comparable to other hotels. I would prefer unscented cleaning products. I did not care for the smell of the room when I first came in. I actually thought it was mold! The one poor experience I had at Beacon was the food in the restaurant. I thought it was terrible. I had a basic breakfast of eggs, ham, potatoes, and toast the first day. The ham was fried lunch meat and the other components were tasteless. I also tried their nachos which were about as bad. I am not sure how you can ruin nachos but they managed. I think having a resturant/bar is a great amenity but I expect the food to be better than that.
