As we knew would happen, Cape May was hit with 8 inches of snow on the night after we arrived, followed by brutally cold wind chill. We could have chosen to have a miserable time, but our goal was to have a romantic couples time, and this place met our needs perfectly. Service was impeccable. Food was wonderful & plentiful. Decor was romantic. Close to beach. Views were nice. Rooms were warm, well-maintained, & clean.
King bed had lump in the center -- was this two twin beds held together? Very little closet space. Important disclaimer: I can't recommend this place for families with young children, as its focus is for couples.

The food was great, both the quality and quantity. This was arguably the best breakfast in Cape May! Only a 5 minute drive from downtown and a short walk to the beach, the location is super convenient. Also, there is a nice size parking lot on the property. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are very old. We understand that bed and breakfasts in this area are supposed to have a vintage feel, but they were too old for our liking. It is a little odd to have a marriage portrait and marriage certificate framed hung over the bed. While the bathroom had some upgrades, the bathtub was something from the 1800s.

We loved the gourmet breakfast, and were very appreciative of afternoon tea (we were offered multiple wonderful sweets). There was also a wine and antipasti service. Food offerings make a big difference when we choose lodgings: they make the lodgings more welcoming and enjoyable. The excellent service offered by the food service staff contributed greatly to this enjoyment. The Victorian architecture and decor is wonderful!
Front desk service was adequate but not stellar. We were located on the third floor and had to carry luggage up. We are able but older, so next time we will choose a room on the 1st or 2nd floor.

The property was close to the beach and within driving distance to the boardwalk/town. It was quiet at night. The ambiance of the bed and breakfast was very nice. The rooms were charming. The breakfast, afternoon tea, and wine and cheese were excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. They offered beach chairs, beach towels, and umbrellas to borrow for free.
The shower in the bathroom was a bit tight and somewhat difficult to enter due to high sides. Other than that, the property was great.

It was the cleanest place we ever stayed! The girls that clean & serve breakfasts & snacks were so nice & polite, very friendly. Loved our room, cozy atmosphere, comfy beds. Loved the wicker furniture on porches & balconies.
The desk clerks, the young guy & woman with blond bangs, can use some training in making the guests feel welcome tho! ☆But the gentleman there was very, very nice to us welcoming picture taking & well wishes for safe travels when we left. And the only thing we didn't care for in our room was the very tiny slippery shower stall.

The chef is a keeper; the breakfasts, afternoon tea/coffee, early evening wine/cheese and the special New Years dinner were 5-star worthy. The staff was more than friendly and accommodating - they were literally family and treated us as such. The sister buildings are just another well preserved example of the Victorian era buildings that make Cape May all this it is. We felt snug and safe and well cared for.
The only downside was the 18 steps up to the second floor that only got old on arrival and several days later on departure. The bathroom offered a period-piece tub on legs and hot/cold/tub-to-shower faucets and a wrap-around curtain requiring a learning curve and some TLC. Decor was nice but some touch up was needed on the ceiling tongue-n-groove treatment.

Angel of the Sea was a lovely B&B just a half block from the also lovely Cape May beach. The house, though an "antique", was beautiful, well-maintained, clean, and had everything we could ask for, and more than we had time to use (bikes, beach stuff, etc.). Each day they served a full breakfast, tea and sweets, and wine and snack service, and the exceptional staff encouraged us to partake in everything! The staff was no friendly and professional, something that is surely lacking in many establishments.
I can't think of anything! It was more than perfect.

Loved the Victorian atmosphere. Loved the Tea & Sweets every afternoon. Loved the breakfast every morning. The place is absolutely beautiful! There was also a bar nearby that we were able to walk to.
The only thing (and nothing with Angel of the Sea personally) is we had to switch rooms for the second night. We were not aware but if you book through another site and not Angel directly that may happen. They were very accommodating by offering to move all our belongings for us and we actually had a nicer room the second night, but it was a bit of an inconvenience. So I do recommend booking with Angel directly to avoid that.

The friendly staff service, especially Tiffany who served us breakfast each morning. The overall facilities were is fantastic shape. The free use of their beach chairs, umbrellas and bicycles was very convenient. The location is only half a block from the beach and in walking distance to downtown Cape May.
Our room, #5, was small and outdated. The raised shower stall was awkward to get in and out. A little unsafe for someone with disabilities.

The Bed & breakfast was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Everyone was so kind and helpful. I loved the breakfast and my husband also enjoyed the complimentary evening cheese plate and wine and the fact that they also offered complimentary afternoon tea and sweets. We never had a chance to try the afternoon tea and sweets because we were out and about riding around on the complimentary bikes. Angel of the Sea bed and breakfast also sell a cookbook with over 200 of the guests favorite recipies guests have enjoyed over the years. I bought the cookbook and the recipies are simple and sound amazing! I cannot wait to try all of them!
I didn't like that I had a shared balcony with the room next door. I couldn't enjoy it much because the person in the room next door kept their balcony door wide open the entire time including throughout the night. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. So we didn't really get to sit out on the balcony.
