The service was SUPERB ! When I asked them a question about the room I wanted to booked, they immediately responded through email, hence I didn’t hesitate to make a reservation. Our room was in the second floor and the hotel didn’t have elevator. HOWEVER, they helped us carry some of our luggage. They were very kind to my 1 year old, making me feel less anxious. Traveling with a baby can be stressful but they made us feel so welcomed so thank you. Eating at the balcony was a beautiful experience. The food was exceptional and again the service was fantastic. Even though we already checked out, they lent us some umbrellas and when it rained.

it’s authenticity and individuality. Beautiful position right on the river. Run by people who take hospitality, and food, with the right amount of seriousness and respect. Professional and charming, great character, elegant and quintessentially French.

We have not stayed at The Charbonell before but will most certainly be returning. From the initial interaction at reception with a most engaging, polite & helpful lady to the wonderful dining experience made possible by the very passionate & professional waiters & beautifully prepared & presented food.

Staff, food, room were excellent. Clean, very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you.

No kettle in room especially when staying for 3 nights and one night restaurant/reception was closed. Could do with more storage/drawer space. These are just suggestions rather than critiques.

Great location in a beautiful village. Staff made us all feel very welcome especially Caroline the manager she was very welcoming.

Need to offer alternative milk options. Only cows milk available even though on the 1st day I asked for none diary and was there for 5 days

The hotel setting is beautiful on the river front with a lovely terrace for dinner/drinks and breakfast in the mornings. Staff very friendly and helpful Room clean and had all necessities provided

We ended up having a room in the annexe building which was quite small compared to some of the other rooms we saw, but not really an issue!

Lovely staff, excellent location and very good dinner menu with a good vegetarian meal provided when we asked. Our room was small, but with a super river view, and very comfy.

Well, it isn't cheap, but then it is very good value.

Beautiful charming hotel. Went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. We were celebrating a special anniversary and had the pleasure of eating in their restaurant. It was the best tasting menu that we have had , especially for a vegetarian. We chose a beautiful room overlooking the river.

Loved everything.

Gorgeous room in a classic French style. Very clean. Comfortable mattress. Friendly staff who really look after you and are more than willing to help with our poor french language skills by being patient and speaking English. The food was incredible. The location is stunning and we loved sitting out on the terrace to eat.

Would have benefitted from a fan in the room, but I’m sure if we had asked, they would have provided one.

Beautifully located, charming hotel with wonderful staff. There were always kind, personal, flexible and willing to help out. Food and drinks were splendid.

The rooms were cute and cozy but also very small, yet pricy.
