You are not just staying at a nice hotel, you are staying inside a WORK OF ART - A MASTERPIECE! Paéz Vilaró was a great artist and this hotel, his own creation by hand, is the highlight of this city. The sunset from this hotel is on every tour guide, blog or recommendation in Punta del Este. All spaces are equally beautiful. Rooms have balcony, ocean view and a front row ticket to every sunrise and sunset in Punta del Este. Right next to the hotel entrance, there is the Museaum, which you can enjoy for just $10 extra. Also, I got a great price deal on this property through Booking😉

I lOVED everything about Casapueblo, but just keep in mind that is not in the center of Casa Pueblo, 10-20 min away from the city center. But don't let that keep you from the unique experience of Casapueblo.

The location on a cliff is spectacular. The property is relatively isolated but its restaurant provided better meals than we had in top rated Montevideo restaurants. Breakfast was generous. The apartment was reminiscent of a “dugout” house on an Australian opal field because each room was at a different level and because furniture items and even light fittings were part of the building construction. Definitely not your usual space!

Parking was either $US25 or on the road. It wasn’t a problem for us but must be in a busy period.

A sojourn at Casapueblo is like stepping into the imaginative world of Carlos Páez Vilaró. The architecture, a beautiful defiance of straight lines, sets the stage for awe-inspiring views and a poolside retreat with a distinct charm. Plus, with a single admission fee to the museum, guests can freely wander through Vilaró's diverse creations, creating a stay that effortlessly intertwines art, nature, and tranquility. What's more, they don't charge extra for delivering orders from the bar to your room.

As the sun sets, dealing with parking hassles at Casapueblo seems a small price to pay. Sure, it's a bit far from the city, making parking a bit tricky and cabs pricier, but the bar prices reflect the unique spot—high demand, unmatched location, and not much competition. Despite these quirks, the place is undeniably worth it, with its captivating setting making up for any challenges in the overall experience.

More of a troglodyte folly than a hotel, a photogenic fantasy, with sunsets, sea birds and a short hike to a hidden beach. Decent dinner (the rack of lamb is perfection) and hearty breakfast are a bonus. The staff try their best. Definitely the most eccentric, magical place to stay in Punta del Este, if not the whole of South America.

It is relatively expensive, as you are paying for the high maintenance of white-washed "ruin", pretending to be a hotel. But worth it. $10 for hotel guests to visit the museum is penny-pinching. Another issue is that, without a car, you are paying for $25 taxi rides into town. The restaurant should focus on quality, crispy calamari over a large quantity of rubber bands.

It is so unique. The architecture is so interesting as is the story that goes with it. The layout and levels are fascinating and having a room seaside was lovely.

Some of the charm was lost on the condition of the bathroom that needs not just updating, but maintenance. Sorry. Hate to leave reviews like this, but it’s true, especially for the cost. Its age is showing.

Staying in Casapueblo is first of all staying in a museum. Facilities are a piece of art. Everything was excellent. Giant room with the balcony and the gorgeous view. The restaurant serves delicious food, we had dinner there 3 nights in a row, room service was also quick and without additional price. Spa is working fine. There was a sea lion resting just at the shore in front of the hotel and there is a very pleasant walk on the bottom of the hotel.

The hotel is really pretty and has a lot to do - from yoga classes to sauna and 4 different swimming pools. It's an unique experience for sure. The breakfast was also really nice and every room has a private balcony.

It's impossible to have parking close to the sunset hour, and the hotel is far away from the city, so guests usually go by car. The security staff was also rude when we asked about parking, their response was literally "it's not my job to know this, what did the reception say? you have to ask them, not me". Also - the toilet paper is really cheap, which is not common for a hotel that is more of an expensive experience like this one.

The environment is a Wow!!!! Every sunset was a pleasure, the view from our room and from every terrace of the place are Gorgeous. The history is a plus, the museum with Paez Vilaró collection and it’s tabern are great. The place is iconic and is dreamlike. It’s a place to stay and rest and find yourself. Staff is very friendly.

Kids allowed is a big question mark. The general style is rustic but some small maintaining details may need attention. Nothing important.

hands down this property is over the top beautiful! Feels like a once in a lifetime stay! With the sea at your doorstep, Art all around and the beautiful and unique structure of this place is top tier!

The faucets/bathroom is definitely outdated but I’m unsure if it’s a dislike or not bc it gives it the authentic charm of its history.

The view definitely is unique and worthy. Staff very helpful and lovely

The location is not the best, you’d better get a car whether you wanna go there. Is not the most comfortable hotel and I guess is not a concern when it comes a hotel built in a hill
