Absolutely fabulous location. Close to public transport routes, shops, bars and restaurants, the marina, Polaria and main areas in Tromso. Staff were incredibly warm and accommodating. My husband got sick and I got extra pillows, cause he took all of mine. Reception desk seems always packed and busy, but it clears up swiftly. Very good breakfasts - LOVED the variety. The hotel uses Rituals body products, which I think is fantastic. No need for extra hair conditioner, they've got the good stuff. Good hairdryer also.

While our room had spectacular views, it could have been cleaned better. There was visible dust and hair on the floor my side of the bed and the windowsill. Last day I noticed stains on the curtains as well. Be careful when using the 'do not clean' tag, as the decision stays until you revert it at the front desk. The room was big, but the bathroom was tiny, just something to be prepared for. Can't wash your undies in the long but narrow sink, use the service the hotel offers. Absolutely no parking in the area, park underground in the tunnel. Reminder: Skybar is not open every night - check out opening days & hours if you plan on taking photos.

The location is perfect for tours and the views are excellent. You will see the Northern Lights through your cameras at some point. The breakfast buffet is excellent, get used to the sharp knife for cutting bread for those who like the most perfect toast… keep your kids away from it though! The room was fine with a good bathroom.

The internet where our room was, wasn’t very good, an essential these days for booking tours etc. We didn’t have a safe which was surprising. Although we stayed over NYE I still thought the hotel was pricey for its rating and should have included more, free mini bar, maybe the odd evening dinner offer.

The hotel is in an excellent location near everything a tourist would want to do while in Tromso. Most tour starting points and shopping are a few meters away. View was beautiful from our room. Breakfast was good choice. Bathroom amenities were lovely. We just had to walk outside to view the northern lights on our 1st night 🤩

Increase the choice of menu at the restaurant and we probably would have used it more. Although it had snow, it would have been nice to see the view from outside the sky bar on the night we went there. The doors were locked and the staff said the didn't know how to open them

The room had no space to place your clothes or a bag but had a not-so-useful ironing board. The shower was so "Eco", that it was impossible to get warm under it. No coffee maker (or was it an instant coffee and a kettle?). It's not a big deal but it's listed in facilities. Of course, there's coffee in the lobby. Also, placing a couple with a small kid next door to a bar that works till 1-2 am is quite inconsiderate

Excellent location right in centre of Tromsø. We were given a much nicer room than we’d booked and it was just lovely: super comfortable bed, excellent shower and with great blackout blinds (crucial for a good night’s sleep during the midnight sun! The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a huge range of breads, cereals and cold meats/fish and hot options. The bar upstairs had gorgeous views over the city.

The coffee was pretty dire from big machines. And the breakfast was incredibly busy so the layout made it awkward to get around. We got locked in the left luggage storage and had to beat on the door to exit: an internal opening button might be a good idea?

- 24 hour desk service was appreciated given we had a late arrival flight and early checkout at 330am. Lovely Christmas decorations - Breakfast excellent, buffet style with cooked breakfast, bread, cheeses, tea/coffee and drinks. Not overcrowded and nice views of harbour - Location ideal - within 5 minutes walk of tour pickup points, boats, 5 mins from central town - Open and enthusiastic about environmental efforts in keeping with location - Very clean - Hot shower any time of day - Kettle in room - Double bed is big and 2 quilts are provided - when we booked in Feb for December, there were no twin rooms left but as two small women we felt like we were in two beds with plenty of privacy and room, using separate quilts and pillows are fluffy and comfortable - Hairdryer in room and nice Rituals shower gel, shampoo and conditioner - Clean, fluffy towels

I've just seen in other reviews there was free coffee/tea all day, my friend really wanted packet milk for a coffee in the room and we didn't know about this facility to get it "on tap", would be good to make this more clear upon arrival Gap in door is a bit weird for the bathroom if you are sharing the room, since when you sit on the bench in the hall and take your shoes off you can see the other person sitting on the loo as the gap is 2 - 3 inches between the door and the wall. Neither deal breakers at all!

We booked superior double as the standards looked quite small. It was very comfortable. Great location for tour pick ups which saves time in morning and central to city. Breakfast was amazing and you can get free food bags if you have an early trip. If you want gym access, there is a 24/7 gyms 200 yards away that you can access for free with the hotel, these are better equipped than hotel gyms so it’s worth the extra agg. Tromso is an expensive city, but you see why when you’re there! it is spectacular, so clean and would recommend the clarion.

We looked at the rooftops of other buildings from window of our room, asked to change the room 3 times and every time we was told to come back later and then heard again "not possible, come back tomorrow ". We were there for 3 nights. I understand it's popular hotel but from our point of view would be better to hear: not possible, we are fully booked" first time round and we would not keep hope up for it. No one made a note regarding our request so when we spoke to different people at the desk each time it felt like this is standard response to keep customer "happy"

Good location, really friendly staff, breakfast, bar, restaurant, and lobby area were to a high standard and looked really nice. The breakfast was really well stocked and good quality food.

Awful view - we ended up with a lower floor room, facing another building which was a shame and did not reflect the images that advertised the room. It also made the room very dark. The corridors upstairs also don't reflect the niceness of the hotel downstairs. The shower was not very good water pressure.

My third stay at this hotel, which is aging well: the rooms are beautiful, although a little narrow for many; the breakfast is fine and its staff pleasant.

The welcome : the reception, when we arrived, was the most disastrous of all my hotel experiences for several decades: for more than 10 minutes, the receptionist did not address us a glance, because she was on the phone and hidden behind the big screen of her computer. Then she gave us our key without a word of excuse, with only the usual welcome formulas!
