Good check in procedure for late arrival, complex and apartment were clean and tidy with all modern facilities. Breakfast was a nice touch as well and ample free parking.

No lift so had to carry 2 suitcases and 2 large rucksacks to the 3rd floor (severely out of breath after 4 trips) so may be worth noting. Really strong smell on top floor which lingered all night. Had to hold our breath to get to our room but by the time we had traveled the corridor it was in our cloths and carried into our room. Smelled like someone had been cooking (fish) Kippers all evening but assume this to be a one off so won’t mark down.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place is at a great location within walking distance to many great places. Room was old, but clean and comfortable. The aircon worked very well, there was a kettle, coffee/tea, milk in the minibar. There were also shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom. The breakfast is paid + extra, but very affordable and the breakfast ladies were delightful. There's a pool and outdoor lounge area, which I didn't have time to use, but looked clean and comfortable. Great value for money, would stay here again.

The place is clearly old and could use extra maintenance, but it wasn't anything serious!

The staff were really helpful and pleasant to chat with.. We wanted to add an extra night to our first stay and it was no problem. We asked for some extra coffee and tea and they just brought it to the room, lovely staff!! The lady in the kitchen was quite stern if you didn't clear the rubbish from your plate before handing it back but they were all lovely. We stayed twice in two weeks and both rooms in A and B block were super for us, we're backpackers at heart but looking for slightly nicer accommodation and this place was perfect.

I liked all of it, I can understand from some of the reviews how people get confused about the different lobbies but it is all one hotel and the rooms are all pleasant, clean and nicely presented, nothing was a problem for us.

Staff were without exception friendly & helpful in every respect, which for me is a very major plus. Breakfasts were very good, with a reasonable selection offered. Reception always great service. Very nice pool and surrounding gardens, spent a lot of time here. I really enjoyed my stay at the QC and would be very happy to stay there again the next time I go to Cairns. It is a very good quality budget accommodation, highly recommended.

Great value for money and most of the staff were very friendly. The female manager was particularly great. Fantastic little pool that was often empty!

The male staff member on nights was particularly rude. We witnessed him being unkind to a few different guests who just wanted to ask for help. He also got angry at us for having a bowl which the breakfast person said we could borrow. Very odd to be rude to us over a bowl??? He left an unfortunately sour taste on an overall great stay.

The location of the hotel is great and most of the facilities were very good, The room was a good size with the exception of the robe.

The room was OK but there was no facility the hang long dresses only small shirts or pants. This made us have to hang them on the outside of the short robe supplied, not very good. Also had to ask several times to have something done about the tap in the kitchenet the filter was blocked.

We enjoyed the swimming pool. The air conditioning in the room worked well. The location was OK - only about a 3 block walk to the waterfront. At sunset we could watch the flying foxes going by. We originally booked for two nights and then decided to stay for five. We couldn't extend the original booking on booking.com, so we made a separate one for the additional 3. The hotel was able to amalgamate the two bookings so that we could have the same room for all five nights. And we ended up with a big room with a full size fridge.

Well more channels on the TV might have been nice, but this seems to be just the way it is everywhere we stayed in Australia - ended up watching a lot of reruns of Friends and Big Bang.

This is a clean comfortable motel in a good location. There are many restaurants & fast food outlets nearby within walking distance. There is a service station close by too. Reef fleet terminal (for great barrier reef cruises) is about 2 km and Esplanade is about 1 km from the motel. Cairns museum , night markets etc are also located not too far. There's a well maintained, clean swimming pool inside the premises. Complimentary continental breakfast is provided daily. The reception staff, kitchen staff and cleaning staff were excellent.

An exhaust fan inside the shower/toilet area would be good.

Huge room and good facilities. Location was perfect and short stroll to the Foreshore Cafe. The best fish and chips are only 2 blocks away. We were able to check in using keysafe after hours.

We arrived early hours and discovered that there is no elevator. I think I read that but didn't register until I got there. You can't withdraw money for laundry so take change or walk down to the servo it's 7 mins away. Our room had a view of the next door houses so nothing special about the view.

Clean, comfortable and easy walking distance to nightlife. Shampoo & conditioner provided which is always a treat.

Being woken up (I’m assuming) by the housekeeping having their team powwow before 8am. (I think our room was next to their staff area). Normally we’d be up/awake at this time, but our late flight meant we didn’t get to bed til after midnight, so an extra hour snooze would have been lovely. It didn’t impact our stay, just maybe something to be mindful of ☺️
