Kamar Kamar Boutique Hotel, Seminyak: The beautiful thing about staying where I have been is that the owner is a designer and antiquities collector and everything is from his personal collection. I’ve been to a couple of museums in Bali in the past but Katyia has pieces from all over Indonesia. Every corner was beautiful and full of gorgeousness, but there was still the sense of minimalism. I don’t know how he has done it. I can highly recommend Kamarkamar Rumahtamu . 24 hour security, only 10 rooms (I took 4 steps and I was in the pool), polite discrete staff, daily cleaning, nightly mosquito spraying and complimentary mosquito repellent lotion, a cafe over the road open at 7am with 3 other delicious and affordable cafes within walking distance. A wonderful hotel manager- Poppy. Laundry, beauty spa and Circle K around the corner. Off the main roads but still only a $3 maximum Grab fare into main Seminyak, and $4 to Petitenget and Kerobokan. A delicious and healthy local Warung 1 minute walk where you can sit with the locals or have a little brown paper cone of freshly cooked Nasi Campur to take back to your room for under $4 everytime. 3 schools in the village. I loved being away from the main stretch of Seminyak as I felt the sense of a modernised local village life rather than just seeing tourists. Double Six Beach was a very easy and interesting but totally safe 60 minute walk. Sunset Road was a 4 minute walk. The nearest biggish supermarket (Frestive) was a 7 minute walk depending on how insane Sunset Road, be prepared to pray for your life as you cross it. The BNI Bank was a 4 minute walk.

I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like.

Location is "good". When you add in the friendly, welcoming service from Poppy and the staff, the beautiful sanctuary of the interior area, the pool and gardens and the well appointed rooms then considering the pricing then "good" becomes "excellent" and outstanding value for money. Each unit has a lounge and kitchen area with small dining table, fridge, sofa, coffee table and Samsung Flatscreen TV. Separate to that there is a good sized Bedroom (good AC Unit) with en-suite enclosed bathroom. Pool is a perfect size for this small hotel (only 10 suites) and never was busy. There are several convenience stores within 2 to 5 minutes walk, several Warung in the same area. 5 minutes walk to Sunset Road (easy to cross with the intersection & traffic lights) and another 10 minutes walk brings you to the crossroads at the start of Jalan Camplung Tanduk for all that has to offer and the direct access to the beach at the end of that road where the great restaurant/bar "Chez Gado Gado" is. Hotel was peaceful, clean, well looked after and staff always available to help and with smiles. Poppy was great to deal with and definitely would not hesitate to come back again and again. Great value for money and fantastic experience.

Poppy and her team were fantastic. We loved the location as it was away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to walk into Seminyak. You do though have to cross Sunset, which can be a tad scary!! The positives, customer service was fantastic, the team always happy to help and always greeted. The rooms are clean, cool and very spacious. The pool and garden are just stunning. We were looked after and felt enjoyed where we stayed. I would happily stay there again.

My only negatives are the bathroom could do with a vent and the shower needs a bit more pressure. It would be good if you could leave the aircon and fridge going when leaving your room. But I get it, power and costs.

Poppy and her team at this place were great, from the moment I arrived to the point I checked out, they had been very helpful and kept smiling. The hotel is in a quite place. I did not hear any dog barking or street noise. There was a a lonely cow in the field next to the hotel that kept mooing though :) In the mornings, the two canaries wakes you up with their songs. There is no cooking facilities in the room and I thought this would be a problem but there are nearby cafes, including a very good Starbucks. I had no problem with calling Grab to the hotel.

Water pressure is really low. The hotel owners must do something about it. Also, the hotel guest manual was outdated; i.e., the manual mentioned a departure tax to be paid in cash at Bali airport, which apparently was abolished several years ago. Otherwise everything else was great.

The staff were exceptional, in particular Poppy the manager, who went out of her way to help us firstly with locating a repair/spare parts place for our bike, and also was a fantastic support when I got Bali belly. Beyond and above what I would have expected. Keep up your good work Poppy.

The binds in our room did not work correctly and need to be fixed.

The swimming pool is located right in front of the room. The room is very spacious, come with mini kitchen , living room and then you will enter the bedroom. Behind the bedroom there is a small balcony with seats for you to chill. Overall design of the place is beautiful . Staff is polite and efficient. More importantly the bed is big and comfortable. The surrounding is quiet and minutes walk to convenience store and main road.

The bathroom shower pressure is no strong. Also the shower head and hand held shower need to be changed.

The room and bed are so spacious, egg flowers decorated everywhere inside the room. We stayed for two days and had an excellent experience. The staff are super friendly, they even helped me to print my visa as I needed for customs. The place is full of greenery, and different kinds of plants, and the hotel has a pond with fish and birds. The place is very quiet, close to Seminyak village, just a few minutes drive. Also close to the Airport, just about 10km.

It would be great if the hotel could provide breakfast. But thankful the staff have given us a useful map and marked lots of great restaurants nearby. We visited a few and they are all affordable and tasty.

The staff were super nice. The daily service were great: they provided water for the night and cleaned up the dishes and cutlery. The rooms are all super spacious and clean. The hotel is within 10 min walking distance to one of the busy areas. The closest eateries are reacheable within 5 minutes. There are 3 mini marts and laundry service within 5 minutes as well. The bed was really big.

The shower head was heavily clogged, it was not pleasant using it. There were many mosquitoes and other types of visitors like worms who came regularly to our room. The doors wouldn't close entirely and always had a gap. On the floor and some furniture pieces were stains. There was no stove nor utensils to cook an egg or similar.

Great Internet to work remotely. I have been working for a week from the living room of my suite and it surprised me how good the internet was. The internet is great for zoom meetings, teams meetings but also if you need to host webinars, download heaps of documents and work in the cloud uploading lots of documents is incredible! The team is super nice and they work around you to accomodate the best times for cleaning your room if you are in meetings. Great views from every room, super quiet and nice! Didn’t expect this quality so I booked for a day in the closest coworking space but it wasn’t necessary to pay for that!!! It saved me a lot of money! Great internet. Good internet. WFH. Work remotely. Working from Bali.

you need a scooter because everything is 1km away but for working from home it suited us well.

Very lovely staff, Poppy and her staff are amazing, it was a nice, clean and comfy accommodation with a really good vibe in a quiet location, nice and clean pool, comfy beds, very recommendable plus everything can be reached and delivered with Gojek

The relatively super touristy area, absolutely not my style but that nothing to do with the accommodation!
