Loved the location of the stay, tram stops to flinders station right out front and tram stops to Spencer street and Bourke street half a block down. the room was clean, easy to get to and had lots of storage. I was quite pleased with how little the noise was from the trains (I was on the 9th floor on flinders street) it more sounded like a heater kickin in when the windows where closed sort of like white noise.

The bed and pillows were very soft as someone who likes a hard pillow it was a big adjustment. There were quite a few scratch and scuff marks on the walls and the aircon in the living room didn’t reach into the bathroom or bedroom due to the layout. I would have preferred the tv in the bedroom as well and possibly an aircon or vent from the aircon into the bedroom particularly. When the windows were open however it was extremely noisy and not bearable. The cables to close the blinds were extremely short and if you’re shorter than 5”4 you probably wouldn’t be able to reach them as I struggled to open and close the blinds each day.

The location was super easy, walking distance from the southern cross station (where the airport transfer bus dropped me off) Tons of coffee shops and restaurants in the area. Walking distance from where a lot of tours picked up from. The receptionist was so nice and helpful. The apartment was so clean and identical to the photos online. Such an easy stay for my 1 day in Melbourne.

The location is close to the train station, so you hear the trains. The noise stops when the trains stop running at night. This didn't bother me at all, but its just something to note if you go to bed super early or are super sensitive to noise.

The people were amazing. On Saturday night 4th Jan 2025 from 9:30 pm, the fire alarm went off and we evacuated the building. The firemen and police were there to manage the Canvas guests. I guess there was a Canvas employee but not sure. Anyway the situation was under control in under an hour, and guests returned to their rooms. I thought the situation was managed very well by all involved.

Noise from public transport outside. We were fine with that but some guests may have issues. The trains are quieter if the technology was upgraded.

My partner and I stayed in the executive suite on the 25th floor with a view of the city, unexpectedly we also had a view of the Yarra. It was absolutely beautiful! We were both impressed with not only the view but the size and cleanliness of the apartment. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Upon booking I read reviews about how comfortable the beds were and they didn't disappointment either. The bed was super comfortable which was the main reason why I booked, I like a good quality sleep. I also read some reviews about the train line being noisy but for us we hardly noticed it. I actually found it calming listening to a faint train every now and then. It may of been because we were on the 25th floor but either way it didn't bother us at all. The location was perfect! Close to Southern Cross station obviously, so it was easy to come and go and get public transport. It was also super close to the Yarra. Everything is within walking distance plus their is a tram spot right out the front to hop on and off. I honestly loved my stay here that I would book again. There was nothing I didn't like.

The location was incredible - park the car (secure parking) & enjoy the city! The view was amazing. Staff were beyond friendly, cannot praise them enough!

It was unfortunate the TV didn't work. I've been in hospitality for 25+ years, so I would change a couple of things. The rubbish chute is on the same level as the penthouse, so I'd have an automatic air freshener to mask the smell. I'd move the current TV to the lower level bedroom and have a 55"-65" TV on the top level of the apartment. I'd ensure there were enough condiments (no sugar) and perhaps bottles of water in the fridge. The fridge also made a noise which some might find irritating. But that's just from my experience. We did enjoy the stay!

The parking process was difficult and in the end more expensive than organising my own parking. You need to park to go to the hotel to grab the fob and the parking instructions. Then go to the parking and then walk back to the hotel. The parking was $30, which was only for the length of my stay, yet the reason for the stay was a work item in Melbourne on the day of check out so I then had to organise additional parking. And for about $20 I could have organised my own parking and stayed the full 24 hrs. Considering the day was very warm, it would have been nice to have the air-conditioning on in the room

Central location, clean and good value. Able to leave bags before and after check in/out.

Beds very soft, small space but expected for central apartment.

No breakfast provided. . I liked having the microwave and the fridge was a great size. The view was amazing, the bed and chairs very comfortable and the bathroom toiletries nice. The hotel was in a great position, easy to access everything. For example , it was really easy to get to Sea life for the 9.00 time.

It was difficult to cook because there were no basics provided(oil, baking paper, salt and pepper,spray) I have dietary restrictions and I found it very difficult to find any suitable meals in the neighbourhood. I would have appreciated a Melbourne guide or suggested eating establishments or at least where Cole’s or Woolies were . The instructions for using the air conditioner were very small and I did not successfully manage to adjust it.

The location was perfect for us, we were only staying for a few hours to catch our flight that evening at 10pm, the views were phenomenal with ceiling to floor glass windows in the lounge and bedroom, we haven't been to Melbourne for a long time but from our 22nd floor views we could see exactly where we needed & wanted to go. I recommend Canvas Apartments to anyone who is from out of town.

Everything was ideal for us. We had a smooth check-in process and because we were leaving after 9pm we had very easy instructions for our check out process too. The convienience of the location was the best decision for us.

the view was incredible! my jaw was on the floor and i couldn’t take my eyes off of it. the location was perfect for my concert at marvel stadium- 10 min walk. the bed was super comfortable, i didn’t want to leave. the amenities were like a full house- perfect for a longer stay where you would cook. the staff were so lovely- i even got a free upgrade and it made my whole trip next level. couldn’t rate the overall experience any better. i could store my bags too which was great considering i had a 7kg carry-on luggage bag which meant i didn’t need to lug it around with me after check-out.

amazing- but some wear and tear. some black scuffs on the walls and doors. the shower head also kept falling off. everything else was just perfect.
