Friendly and helpful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. In particular Jenny who went out of her way to help sort out our printing technical issue. very quiet room (exactly what we asked for) and very comfortable beds. loved the choice of pillows on offer in the room. loved the microwave in the room too. conveniently located next to a big Mall as well as the train snd bus station out the front. very close to cafes and restaurants too. Housekeeping staff swiftly brought us extra blankets when we needed it.

we were charged $50 to check in 2 hrs earlier while the room was ready to go. also totally didn’t like eating out of disposable paper plates and drink in paper cups both jn our room as well as breakfast. also if the paper plates were to help the environment then it missed the mark as people were not sorting things properly when they finished.

Perfect location right at the SkyTrain Station Metrotown for day trips to Vancouver downtown, Stanleyx park etc. Staff very freindly and helpful. Spacious rooms with functional facilities.

Breakfast selection and organisation needs to be improved. Although I didn't expect too much from a continental breakfast in a business hotel, the breakfast at HI Express Metrotown is not worth the money. Poor selection of food, no microwave to heaten up milk, etc. Besides, only single-use plastic & wooden cutlery is used. The waste management concept is confusing (2x2 bins for recyclable and landfill waste with not up-to-date photographic description). Consequence: at the end of the breakfast everey bin contains the same waste items...

I was at the hotel for both a work event, and to stay at during the event. All of the staff were exceptional and polite. There were many times where I would pass a hotel staff from various different departments in the halls, and they would treat me and asked me how my day was an even have a couple short, pleasant words. I don’t see this everywhere. I think this is awesome. I also had some trouble after checking out where a key broke off in a padlock that was securing my motorcycle. I was heading out for a long drive back to Penticton and wasn’t able to find a professional service to come cut the lock for me in a timely manner . The maintenance staff at the hotel, in my opinion, went over, and above, to help me to resolve the issue. The maintenance person in particular that helped out was amazing, and appeared to be happy to help even though I assume it was taking him away from other important things he needed to do. Well done. It’s my second time at this hotel, and I will definitely come back.

Very sweet staff, very accommodating — the whole team! —wish they had a hot tub for the winter months but they do try to keep the outdoor pool warm, great location for Burnaby! free parking is awesome! Hotel cost is similar to others in the area but could be a bit cheaper as it’s an older property. The included breakfast is great. I personally wish they had some better toppings for their oatmeal (cranberries, chopped dried apricots, shredded coconut, chopped almonds) and maybe additional healthy breakfast items (plain non-fat yogurt, berries or other fruit to mix into it, although the fresh banana worked for me this time), but they keep it very clean and guests appear to love the bright space with lots of room for everyone. overall I am always very happy to stay there.

Breakfast was excellent. I appreciated having a workout area. There was also direct mall access, which was helpful.

It was hard to find a way back into the hotel from the mall side. I often found myself walking around to the front, on the outside, when access from the mall would have been easier. It was also difficult for ride shares or other people to pick me up or drop me off directly at the hotel entrance, being on a busy street. And it seemed that the little driveway was closed for most of my stay.

Everyone was very friendly! We got smiley greetings and great courtesy from all of the staff. Great communication when we asked questions. The breakfast choices and variety were a great way to start each day. The coffee was delicious! We valued less single-use plastic for toiletries, yet the offer to get us any we might need. Parking was easy and accessible. Excellent location connected to Metropolis Metrotown, buses and the SkyTram. Easy to walk to endless places of interest. We were very happy to have a higher floor room (5th) and had a lovely city view.

Overall, our room was very clean! However, a long piece of hair, clearly not belonging to any of us, was on the floor in the bathroom. The mattress was not as comfortable as I had hoped for, but still good for a short stay. We didn’t realize there were slippers until it was time to leave (my tall husband found them when he looked up). I just wish I had seen them when I arrived. Maybe set them down lower instead of at the top of the closet.

The location is ideal and the underground parking is great. Room was nice, clean and well equipped. The staff were nice, and the breakfast was pretty good too. Hot buffet style breakfast and the restaurant staff were very attentive with restocking items. The area has tons of eating options and the hotel is attached to Metrotown mall which is huge and even has three grocery stores.

It was a bit pricey but we booked last minute in the middle of high season so it's to be expected.

Love everything, the helpful and friendly staffs, the clean and comfortable room, and strategic location. Me n my husband got stomach flu on the day we arrieved..thank God we recovered quickly after a full day rest at the hotel where we didnt have to worry of where to order foods for the rest of our fam cos the hotel connected to a big mall, metrotown mall so they could just easly go there to buy food and occupied themselves in the mall..very recomended hotel✌️✌️

The convenience of going shopping in an out of the hotel into the mall…that was convenient…. Even booking dining reservations were worth it cause the amenities were so close to the hotel

Having to request replenishing of supplies like water. This should have been done when room was being cleaned and at-least have 2 new water bottles in the fridge or somewhere in the room. I physically had to go get some from front desk. Swimming pool times to be extended slightly later within reason.

Burnaby is a suburb of Vancouver - but the Skylink (Metro) Station is across the street. Thus it takes only about 20 min to get into Vancouver downtown. There are several restaurants around and a big shopping mall next to the hotel. So alltogether a good choice if you dont insist to have a hotel in downtown.
