When I booked this I did not realize there was an onsen on the roof with views of the water. I just saw the affordable off-season price and was in the area. So it vastly exceeded my expectations. Staff were generally very nice and tolerant of my poor Japanese skills, though some were less tolerant than others. (Not holding that against them as a visitor here). I think every room has a view of the sea, it was beyond charming. They also rent out e-bikes, which I did for one day. Essential for getting around the island as the buses do not run frequently.

This is located very far from the main ferry port. There is a shuttle bus service, but it only runs a few times a day. So I found myself waiting for about an hour to catch the shuttle bus, and similar waiting on the way off the island. Still, it's a nice service they offer so you don't have to drive/have a car on the island. This is an older building and has some wear and tear that comes with that, so manage expectations accordingly. There was a mildly odor in my shower, but I didn't mind it terribly. There are not a lot of restaurants in this part of the island, and during the off season the few that are there were closed. So I would recommend using/booking the hotel restaurant out of convenience.

What impressed me most was the assistance of the service staff I happened to meet a young girl from Taiwan who helped us with the language barrier and was very patient in helping us translate and solve the problem! There was also a young Japanese boy who helped us with the hot spring temperature and finally helped us carry our luggage to the shuttle bus. I was very impressed by his perfect service.

The dinner buffet is very delicious, but it may need more variety of ingredients

Good View, free hot spring, free shuttle bus between the tonosho port and hotel, very friendly staff who gave us a big help to the convenience shop, and delicious breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed the stay and will come back to the hotel next time.

Amazing view onsen, world-class “omotenashi” service, spectacular food (morning & dinner buffet is amazing-strongly recommend half-boarding options since there’s really no good restaurants around and cheaper to book it online than adding it at the hotel), free drink (coffee & tea)and free shuttle bus service from every port (reservation needed by a day before)

There were beautiful views everywhere, in the lobby, from all the rooms and from the elevator. The Onsen was lovely and the hotel was super thoughtful about providing all of the things someone might need to have a great first Onsen experience. The staff were also very kind and accommodating.

The private spa was really nice - outdoors but private and wooden. Breakfast had so many choices and very tasty! Japanese room was large and great ocean views - such a relief after Tokyo crowdedness.

The room comes with half board which is useful as there aren't restaurants close by. The breakfast is mainly Japanese but you'll find some Western stuff if you prefer that. The dinner buffet is very decent, with many choices and beer or sake included! Luckily the food labels are also in English. The room was spacious and the personnel very friendly. However, they speak little English, so crank up your Japanese. Bicycles and cars can be rented at the hotel. They also have regular shuttle buses to most ferry ports. The hotel is well maintained but looks here and there a little bit worn. Onsen and swimming pool on site.

The service was great, the dinner was excellent, staff members are very friendly and helpful.

There is nothing much around, need to drive or ride the e bike a little far. And there was a mosquito in my room so couldn’t sleep well for the first night.

On arrival I was able to rent a small car from the hotel for a few hours, and on the second day I rented an electric bike. It made it very easy to get around. The rooftop onsen is a delight. Meals were good, and included 'all you can drink' beer, wine and so on. The hotel also provided transfers to and from the ferry terminal. Very helpful and friendly staff.
