The Location was excellent, I was 15 min walking in the direction of all my destinations. The staff was very friendly and the access was very easy and secure. I recommend it for a city break. The hostel is also very lively, with people coming and going, and parties on the weekends, it's a very fun vibe.

The rooms are unfortunately very small, there is no place to put your luggage. You can't unpack, basically you have to live out of your suitcase. The bathroom is minimal, soap and shower gel that was almost empty, so no shower gel. The drinks at the restaurant are mediocre, I don't recommend any cocktails and the coffee is almost drinkable.

Location is excellent, close by to all main attractions ( Nyhavn and main shopping streets are just 10mins walk away ) supermarket opp the hotel

I stayed in a private room for 4 with ensuite bathroom There are no daily housekeeping services, staff just came to empty the dustbin Very disappointed with no boiling water facilities in the room ( no kettle provided ) nor free drinking water provided for private room reservation.

The hostel is easy to find & in a great location to walk, or catch the metro, across the city. I arrived early and wasn't able to check in yet, but was able to rent a locker for 4 hours and left my luggage so I could make the most of the day. The room, bathrooms & common areas were clean and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. 24 hour reception is always a bonus. The food in the bar downstairs is reasonably priced & lovely. I will definitely be back, I had a great time :)

The only thing, it's difficult to find somewhere to sit in the bar due to reservations from the early evening, but it's a great atmosphere the team have created there & also a good way to mix with locals and other hostel guests :)

Location was great. Very close to the centre of town and the main attractions. Room was small but could deal with that as we were only staying one night

Hard bed and horrible pillows. The lockers to store luggage were expensive for a backpackers.

Within the "Generator" chain of hotels, and within the youth hostel category, this is one of the best hostels we've been. Our private room was not too small, good beds, lighting was good, large private bathroom, safe in the room (very appreciated !). This hostel has a huge common space with nice facilities : lockers for luggage storage, dinning space, bar, large outdoor sunny terrace, petanque facility, pool tables, multiple shuffleboards, bike renting, underground parking with direct access. Location is perfect, a few minutes away from city center, royal palace, canals, restaurants and bars, etc. A supermarket just in front of the hostel is very convenient.

Everything is extra, and not cheap, from the most obvious (bike rental) to the most surprising (pool tables, petanque). Overall, it felt like they are trying to make the most money out of guests, without considering that most are families or budget travellers. This said, Copenhagen is an expensive place, so tariffs charged by the hotel were mostly in line with outside prices, but then, why go to a youth hostel ? Copenhagen is a nice city but nothing outstanding, so not sure I'd come back, for the price we paid, but this has nothing to do with Generator hostel, this is a more general remark. Main downside of the hostel is lack of kitchen facility, but I have the impression this is always the case in generators hostels.

Staff, especially the lady serving coffee in the morning, nothing was too much trouble and very friendly. Bar was reasonable priced for drinks and busy most evenings. There was a drag bingo night one evening which was fun and really busy. I think people come to drink here that aren't even staying there which is a positive also.

The storage under the beds isn't ideal as it's very difficult to be quiet to pack when people are sleeping (our room was full) . Minor - but a hairdryer would have been a welcomed addition

Location was fantastic, near a station and very central to everything. Room was adequate for our needs and breakfast was lovely. Atmosphere amazing and staff friendly and helpful.

The room was smaller than expected but it sufficed. Pillow too square and soft for me but thats personal preference. Would be nice to have tea making facility but thats an added luxury. Breakfast was lovely but more bread options would be nice and pastries as part of the buffet. No whole meal options.

Location is very close to the main square which is an enormous plus, also there is plenty of grocery shops and restarurants around the place, so everything is easily available. Staff is very friendly, we had no problems geting anything we asked for, everyone greeted us with a smile and they were very friendly. At the counter we got a map with Copenhagen's main tourist attractions which was also very nice and helped our stay. Bed was comfortable and we had plenty of places near bed to plug in our devices. Food we ordered was good, staff automatically gave us hotel discount on bar even when we forgot our ticket with it. Its one of the cheapest options in Copenhagen and for the price I definitely think it was worth it.

Automatic light in the bathroom was annoying to deal with when we had to leave doors open for the room to dry. At the same time the shower area (which is just a curtain dividing bathroom in two parts) is a bit worrying since the door has a gap and I was constantly worried about sinking not just bathroom but also room outside (floor remained wet even after using the swiper so I think our decision to leave the door to the bathroom open was valid). As mentioned in the hotel survey, rooms could definitely use cups since many people have to take medication.

Staff is really nice and friendly. So well situated, i could walk to anywhere from there, really the best spot as a tourist Super great chep food close (like gasoline hamburger and fabro) I was in a 6 girl dormitory and it was spacious. Had a blow dryer, which is super appreciated Lockers are big, all your stuff fits There are some lockers at the entrance, where you can let your stuff after check out (but have to pay) Cheap bike location Beds are confortable I hesitated between generator and new house hostel and ended up booking both (half/half of my trip). I’ve been to generator amsterdam and barcelona before, so i knew i could trust generator, but new house seemed like it had more features. For the friendliness of the staff, the localization and the space of the locker and room, i would suggest booking generator.

More old than other generator (not as pretty as the one in amsterdam - however better localization) The bike i borrowed was not the best, i dont if it’s a one time thing, a copenhague thing or all bile are like that. I wish there was a pub crawl offered by the hostel. I found it difficult to meet people as an alone traveller The bathroom/shower are separated, which is pratical, but the arrangement is weird. Shower curtain seems cheap. Wish i had a place to put my shower stuff while showering (had to put it on the floor)

We have the double room with a private bathroom. The room was very comfortable apart from the heating not seeming to work but to be fair, we didn't follow up on this and it didn't really affect us. The bar area is really nice and we enjoyed some games of shuffleboard and the happy hour. The hotel is in a great location and lots of food options close by, as well as a supermarket across the street.

As we were checking out, we asked about leaving luggage. The cost for 2 cases was about the same as getting breakfast so we decided to get breakfast then leave to avoid storing cases. The breakfast is very limited and I wouldn't have paid had I known. However, this was just a small thing in a good stay.
