We are a family of four, travelling around Bali for a month and staying in 15 places! This was our second visit to Gili Air, and we stayed a week on the island and 4 nights at the villa for Christmas. The property comprises seven villas, including a three-bedroom option in another location. We stayed in the secluded two-bedroom villa at the end, which was perfect for our family. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival with a fruit platter (extra cost) and brand-new bikes (80 per day), including a smaller one we had pre-arranged for our 10-year-old son. The villa features two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, making it ideal for two couples or a family. The staff were lovely and friendly—they would wave to us every time we rode by on our bikes! Breakfast was pre-ordered the night before, and we appreciated thoughtful touches like complimentary water refills (thanks for being sustainable and not using plastics) and the availability of massages. The towels and bedding were changed during our four-night stay, and the Australian family who owns the property even gave us a thoughtful departing gift. The location was fantastic, but if it’s your first time in Gili Air, I’d recommend staying in two places to experience the island entirely as it is a distance from the main wharf when you arrive. We walked it - 10 -15 mins with luggage.. It’s close to Legends (owned by another Aussie), where we enjoyed a fabulous Christmas lunch. The staff there were terrific, too. We also spent a great day at BASK on Gili Meno (a quick trip via the Island Hopper for 40k IDR per person). Snorkelling to the statues was fun, though it was pretty busy. Pro tip: Make sure you get bicycles—it transforms your entire experience of the island!

The kitchen couches were uncomfortable; adding more pillows would make a big difference! Especially as it was raining and it was the only place to sit! My husband, who is 6'3", found them particularly challenging, and I felt the same. I would suggest a renovation to remove the kitchen and put in couches instead—just an idea. The villa is situated right next to the pool area, but the walkway is relatively narrow —just a heads-up, it’s not ideal for very small children because the pool is outside the bedroom doors and you would be super stressed thinking of your little one! Additionally, the toilet seat wasn’t properly attached, which I brought to their attention. It's super minor, though!

The Villas are spacious and nice. The privat pool is awesome and makes it very enjoyable. The rooms are good and the Toilets are clean. Overall that is all great. The location is a little of the beaten path but still close enough to where ever you want to go. It makes it quiet and relaxed.

The breakfast itself was good, but the presentation when it comes in "tin cans" is a little off of what you expect. Not sure why it was that way but maybe because we had the last villa from reception the internet was really slow. Considering that you book you breakfast via an app this is tricky. However, the team always tried to help asap. as Good as the privat pool is, it makes the "yard" of the villa quite small and you have to look out that you do not fall into it, especially in the dark ;). Nothing to do with the Villa itself, but the calls of the Muezzin can be heard quite well, also during the night...

The villa is very nice and beautiful with a large pool and 6 min walk to the northern beach. Staff are very helpful and responsive, the system to order the breakfast is very practical and you can chose when the cleaning staff comes which is so convenient.

Under the bed was very dirty and dusty which caused me some allergies, the ac needs a revision as well, it wasn’t cold enough and had to use the fan as well. And the breakfast could be a bit upgraded, it’s quite basic for an accommodation of this standing.

We were a family of 15 and booked the 2 three bedroom villas, which worked out perfectly for us as we were able to have them interconnecting by closing a gate between the villas. The villas were beautiful, spacious and very clean and Gili Air is Paradise! We all loved exploring the island on bikes and electric scooters and everywhere was easily reachable within minutes - the western side for snorkelling during the day, the eastern side for balmy sunset dinners, not to mention the many fabulous little cafes/restaurants/shops dotted throughout the island. Most of all though we would like to thank the amazing staff and owners who went above and beyond to make our holiday so wonderful! In particular when my little one year old granddaughter accidentally broke a glass and cut her leg requiring stitches, they drove her and her Dad straight to a medical centre and the owners stayed with them to see if they could help in any way. Their kindness and generosity was so very much appreciated!

We stayed in the villa 6 and we had all the intimacy to swim in the pool and listen to music every evening without being disturbed by the neighbors. The food that can be ordered inside the villa from the available menu it’s delicious. The villa is very nice decorated, supplied with everything that you would need. The location is good if you rent a bike to explore the island, and the closest beach is 5 min away by bike.

It’s an inconvenient that the rooms are not well secured, I mean the door it’s secured, but there is still some space remaining opened for the geckos to enter. The same thing with the bathrooms, they are somehow opened and we had many mosquitos and geckos in the room, which was not pleasant during the night :)) but if you pay more attention to them before going to sleep, you can spot the mosquitos and clear them away.

Our stay was perfect! The pool, dining outside area is everything you could hope for! The size of the villa is generous and amazing value for money (we stayed in another one that was more than double the price and loved this one much more)! Great A/C and noise isolation. Great location! Both sunsire, sunset and turtle points less than 8min bycicle ride. They helped us getting a bicycle that was delivered to our doorstep in 5 minutes. They’ll also help us out getting a transport to the port. And when we realized we forgot our googles they brought it to the pier in no time! If in doubt between villas, choose this one.

The staff are super helpful and friendly. The villa was very clean, and the whole place had a happy, cared for feel. The staff really care about your stay. We loved the alresco kitchen and pool area. The private pool was incredible. The bedrooms were spacious, and the aircons were great. The location was good as we were a short bike ride from anywhere on the island. There was filtered water and coffee and tea supplies. Ozy organised a private snorkel trip, bikes and every request was met happily and professionally. Kezia in Bali organised our ferry and car bookings and everything went smoothly. So easy. Our group of 5 highly recommend the villa and staff.

If anyone has a mobility issue, the stairs were steep. However there is a bedroom downstairs and kitchen,pool ect is downstairs.

We really liked our stay in the Akasia Villa. It was a two-bedroom villa with an open-air kitchen in between and a wonderful private pool surrounded by palms and trees. Very beautiful and peacful. The open-air kitchen comes with drinking water where you can refill your own water bottle, a stove and a fridge and freezer and furnished with comfortable sofas. We enjoyed sittning there in the evening while the kids played in the pool. We stayed during Ramadan and were very happy that this villa is a bit away from the mosque. Beds really comfortable, bathroom nice. The hosts were so helpful and gave us tips on what restaurants were open during the Ramadan. Since we couldn't get breakfast during Ramadan in our room, they paid us back for the breakfast and also helped us rent bikes. Would love to come back and can highly recommend this place.

As soon as we arrived we entered a bright, cool and relaxing reception area where we were greeted by the manager. He was very welcoming, friendly and spoke very good English. The suite we stayed in was really spacious and inviting with each bedroom having its own fully enclosed ensuite. The main living area had ample seating room for all guests and looked on to a large private pool, surrounded by lounge chairs for enjoying the sun. We were extremely pleased with the breakfast which was convenient and tasty and delivered to the suite. We would highly recommend this boutique hotel.

I enjoyed all aspects of this hotel

Villa is a but further from the centre of the island, it’s much more quiet, which was fine for us. The beach is 5-min walk from the villa. We stayed in a villa for 4 people, the rooms were clean and had AC. The pool was very nice and bigger than what you usually get. There is an open kitchen joining two rooms with fridge, kettle, tea and coffee. Breakfast is included in the price, they offer pancakes, nasi goreng, scrambled eggs and there is always additional fruit plate. The breakfast is delivered from a restaurant nearby. It is quite simple, not the best we ever had, also sometimes cold. But it is quite comfortable to have breakfast by the pool which is delivered to you.

Sometimes there were problems with water pressure and hot water in the shower, but I guess it happens on a remote island. People on the island are burning palm leafs with plastic near their homes and sometimes you could smell it. But it was still almost nothing compared to other parts of the island.
