Stayed at this charming hotel and loved its quirky character and spotless cleanliness. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and the town itself was absolutely lovely. Highly recommend for a unique and enjoyable stay!

My room was spacious but unfortunately had a low beam, which restricted movement—a drawback of the hotel’s quirky, historic design. The bathroom also featured an eave ceiling and only had a bath with a tap attachment for washing your hair. Standing to shower was impossible due to the ceiling height. While the hotel’s charm is undeniable, a proper shower would be a much more practical option for today’s travelers.

Good position, comfortable bedroom, hot water, on site parking . Good selection at breakfast.

Unable to close one of the bedroom curtains, and rips in the net curtain.. reported but not resolved. Appreciate this meant changing the track but with 4am sunrise, and the room overlooking a car park it wasn’t a great experience. The bar top was full of empty glasses, I would say at least 60, we had to ask for one to be washed to have a gin glass. There was no attempt during the 90 minutes we were sat there to move them or put them in the washer, and at that point there were only 8 people in the bar .All of the ice had been taken for a function and we had to ask for lemon. Small things that mean the difference between an excellent highly recommended stay, and trying somewhere else next time

The staff at Villiers were absolutely incredible! I could not have asked for better service from check in until the day after. Every staff member went out of their way to help, were welcoming and friendly. Myself and friend had travelled a long way to this hotel and did not know the area at all. The staff were more than accommodating from allowing early check in to booking public transport to our venue and the train station the following day. Thank you so much for excellent customer service and a welcoming stay!

The rooms were spacious and comfortable! However, the rooms were extremely hot (although it was a warm day), there was quite a lot of dust on the bedside tables and the noise from the high street was quite loud. These were minor quarms but nothing that would stop me staying at this hotel again!

We were amazed by the size of our rooms. We booked five rooms for a group of us and three of the rooms were very spacious. All rooms were lovely and tastefully furnished. Two of our rooms were the garden rooms as we had dogs, both rooms were fabulous. We loved the bar area and enjoyed a few jugs of Pimms. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The hotel in general has a really nice feel about it and in a really central location. For anyone travelling with dogs, we found the area really dog friendly with many of the pubs and coffee shops welcoming the dogs with open arms and treats….as a dog owner, finding places so welcoming of dogs really Does make a huge difference.

Very tastefully decorated and lots of very thoughtful touches. Everything I needed was in my room and was of good quality. Room was spacious, fresh and clean. All staff very polite and helpful, making us feel very welcome. Breakfast was exceptional.

My only real disappointment was that I found the bed rather narrow. Personally I can sleep almost anywhere, but I could see that it might be a problem for others. I didn't think it matched the overall luxury of the room. However, it would not stop me from being very happy to return and stay again.

The hotel was lovely, the staff were so helpful and friendly. We were in a Standard Room which was a decent size. The bed was comfortable and the towels were big and fluffy. Breakfast was outstanding and dinner was very good too.

One thing could improve our score - a fridge in the room. It was baking hot when we stayed and it was impossible to keep drinking water cold. Also, it is worth noting that Room 107 had a shower over the bath so not too easy to use for the less mobile guest.

Loved the room, we had a very comfortable and relaxing night's sleep. Perfect position to visit London (via Milton Keynes Central station, 20 mins), and Stowe Gardens (National Trust, 5 mins). Parking was very close the hotel, with the entrance 20 meters or so down the street. Good choice of breakfast, and the food was lovely.

Can feel like a bit of a maze, depending on your room. The receptionist did show us around which helped!

The staff were fantastic, particularly the night receptionist who made us feel very welcome when he checked us in at 1:30.am. Very spacious and well equipped room. Have stayed here before and would stay here again.

There were some very 80s looking finishes in our room like a red and silver padded headboard and a carpet on the window seat that looks like it came from a bus. Bit of a shame when everything else is done to a high standard.

Very nice hotel. Staff excellent. Evening meal and breakfast good.

Central heating broken on the floor where our bedroom was ( room 222 ). It was not repaired during our 2 night stay and room was pretty cold to sit in but very helpful room staff lady got us extra blankets and duvet. If you have that room you can warm it up a little by turning on electric towel radiator inventory suite and leaving en suite door open. Gentleman on reception said fault affected the whole floor and engineer had gone back to Romania. Presumably other engineers are available?!

We were in a room opposite the entrance which was spacious and comfortable and within easy access to the main hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful but see next question.

On Thursday 20th July the person on breakfast duty was somewhat grumpy and not very efficient, she may have been new or feeling unwell. There appears to be different ways of updating people's accounts, this was eventually sorted though.
