Pool, spacious, tasteful decorations, clean, garden, plenty of amenities at short walking distance. In essence, a very good and nice place, especially at this price point.
Murky water in the pool (VERY - it CAN be clean, though, I am sure!) - even if it is no health issue at all, it just looks (and feels) very strange. Also, I learned here how one should look at a map before booking, and NOT go to the direct 'line' in which the runway of an airport goes. The planes fly over SO low here and SO loud, until the middle of the night. It's absurd. That said, in actuality, it bothered me slightly less inside / at night than I was expecting (dreading), once I'd arrived. Still, Chiang Mai should re-arrange their airport, because this accommodation suffers for it (and could/would be a LOT better, if if did not feel as if it were almost part of the runway).

The Royal Shilton is a traditional Thai style resort hidden in a bit neglected garden, but the rooms are in a perfect condition. They probably made some renovations recently in the building where my room was: wooden stairs were shiny with a fresh lacquer, the room was neat and strict, with wooden furniture and decorations. The bathroom had a bath tub, and it was faultless! Actually, the bath tub is something rare for not expensive hotels like that. Shower also was good with really hot water, which was nice in cool weather. The cleanliness was exceptional. It happened sometimes during my stay that I left the hotel very early in the morning and was back by noon: and the room always had been already cleaned by the time.
There was no breakfast and any restaurant on site. The lighting was not perfect: it was too dark for my taste.

We stayed in one of the villas which was a clean and cozy little place with gardens immediately outside and a little porch with chairs and a table, perfect for sitting and having coffee in the morning. We appreciated the area, which is a little bit tucked away from main roads (and noise) and the other guests were also really quiet.
They really could not have done anything to make it better. We weren't aware how far the location is from the old part of the city and that's where we mainly wanted to be, so it was a lot of figuring out rides in and out since we stayed 5 nights. Also, bring yourself some earplugs as there will be planes flying overhead in the mornings and evenings.

Amazing pool, spacious room and very nice communal area! The resort offers a peaceful courtyard and pool sheltered by palms and other greenery, a very nice change from the bustling city of Chiang Mai. The room had more than enough space, an excellent bathroom and a comfortable bed. It is worth walking towards the MAYA shopping centre as this was nice and lively with many options. The One Nimman mall is also close and very nice to browse.
I really wish we had a longer stay to make more use of the facilities and be able to explore around more as we were only there for one night. Quite a walk to get to the shops, albeit through an interesting section of the city.

I love that they gave me the whole bungalows which is lovely and spotless clean ,having open air leaving room with traditional Thai style furniture, small kitchen . Surrounded by trees . The bed is super comfy and the toilet room separated with the bathroom with the big bathtub in Japanese style. And the price is unbelievable cheap. Safe parking .
The resort located in the area that the airplane passing by and that made some noise,if you are not going bed early the flight will be end around 12.20 midnight .In the morning starts around 7 am.,The little pool looked a bit dirty.

We really would reccomend this place! It is a super cozy place. You have your own outside space and a big room. The bed is big and super comfortable. They make your bed, clean your trash etc everyday when youre out for breakfast or something. You get 2 bottles of water everyday. The staff was also really nice.
The only 2 downsides (but not dealbreakers) were: The pool became very dirty quickly. When we arrived it was clear, but it turned super green. It became quite bad. The room is very clean, except in the room with just the bath, there was a lot of dust. And some other corners as well.

Lovely place, clean, quiet, everything is just like what you saw on booking.com. The room was big. It definitely value for the price. Very easy access to near by shops, local restaurants with in 500 meters walking you can find lot of places. The best part is the host. I want to say She is SUPER HOST amazing. So helpful and hospitality. Because the room wasn't full so she allowed me stay little longer till my evening bus. I really recommend anyone who like quiet place, real local area with nice swimming pool, clean BEST host ever. The Royal Shilton Resorts is the place for you. I know it was about 4-5 km. from Nimman walking business street. I don't mind to reduce the cost of staying.
There is nothing that I didn't like about the place. It is very local, nice, clean with a very best host. I know before booking is not right in the center and it is about 3-4 km. from Nimam street. I even walked there about 30 minutes walk, with local Taxi is less than 100 THB.

Staff! Best after 50 years traveling. Also the pool was tepid, just cooler then air. My three rooms were spacious for a bunglow. It was clean enough for my wife, nuff said.
Slippery in the rain, just like my house. I think the need a gardener a day a week.

Beautiful units with heaps of room inside. A lovely private porch outside that's perfect to hang out. The staff helped me rent a scooter to get around the city. Didn't get to use the swimming pool sadly!
Slight inconvenience is that it's on the path the planes take to land at the airport. Doesn't happen at night though so you can still have plenty of rest.

Nice peaceful place. Roomy and clean. Very quite. Seamless service, quick check-in. Located within 15 15-minute walk to the downtown with plenty of restaurants.
wifi could have been better (I work remotely, had to use mobile internet most of the time)
