I booked a separate double room with a bathroom for myself, but I was accommodated in a four-bed room with a bathroom and was informed that I would live in it alone. So I didn't object. It was even better. The advantage of the quadruple room was a refrigerator, microwave and kitchen. I did not use the kitchen, but there is a sink and a stove. Although the weather outside was cold, the room was warm even without turning on the heating. The shower is well regulated, good water pressure, the temperature is easy to adjust. The staff kindly provides the opportunity to leave luggage before check-in and after check-out in the luggage storage room. Breakfasts are delicious. I definitely recommend it.
There was some noise from the neighboring rooms, but it was moderate, as the neighbors were not too noisy.

I liked the room, the hostel itself is very nice and near distance of the city center
breakfast. they could at least boil the eggs. or add vegetables or fruits.

The breakfast included is very nice, everything is fairly clean, and for the price I would say it's ok, nothing fancy but for some nights it's good enough. Staff is also pretty good and the check in - out is smooth. Average beds/bedroom.
The bathroom curtain was dirty, and (I know it's a hostel and you can't ask a lot) the sound isolation between rooms is non-existent, the only thing that separates our room from the next was a wood/cardboard door, so you could hear EVERYTHING. We got awake by the people next door two of the three nights, by people speaking in a normal voice tone, so you can imagine. But its good enough for the price

My friend & I shared a twin room. Wow, it was lovely. Extraordinarily clean, in-room bath, comfy beds, very spacious -- we were sooooo pleased with our choice! The staff was friendly, there is a lovely balcony / roof-top. About 25 minute walk from downtown; well-connected with trams & buses downtown. We felt it was a safe area -- but -- it was a bit dogy from the NORTH train station (but we arrived during late afternoon -- just saying, if you are arriving at night) ... Breakfast was ok, typical Belgian breakfast (some fresh veggies would have been nice) .. . . . . A Carrefour in the neighbourhood -- we bought salads (etc) to add to our breakfast & to enjoy healthy dinners.
There was a kettle & limited access to a fridge -- but no real kitchen. Can't recall if there was a microwave or not. Breakfast was included, but pretty basic (all of our Belgian breakfasts were like this!) Be careful if you are arriving at night by train (North Train Station area is a bit sketchy). The downtown area is just 25 minutes by foot -- but -- if you come home for a rest & then want to go out again after, you might opt to stay home. None of this affected our stay at all, but then we also had a scope on what we wanted to do...

The hostel was really good and it sort of exceeded my expectations. Friendly and helpful staff. 5 minutes walk from nearby Metro or Bus stop (Botanique). Good bathrooms and room was quite compact and clean. Bedsheets and Linens were provided and the bed was quite comfortable. I also got a quiet room as i requested. Enough power outlets in the room and lightning inside the room was quite good. Had compact shelves and wardrobe. There was also a Reading table near the window. We were able to enjoy the Euro cup football matches in the TV in common room. Common room was also adequate with sofas, toilet, books, TV and also a good balcony. Close to the Brussels-nord stations with lots of restaurants and super-markets nearby. Ideal place for solo travelers and couples.
The breakfast was free. But it was very minimal so don't have too much expectations. You need to pay additional 2 Euros per towel. There should be a bathroom mat at the entrance of the bathroom to wipe our feet. Check-out time was early at 11am while in most Belgian hotels it is around 12 noon. The main complaint was that there was no kitchen in the hostel. However, there were microwave ovens and Refrigerator.

It is a nice place to stay. It is well located and the staff was really nice. Traveling to the center is super easy, yo have a metro station at 3 min walking. Also, you can walk to the center and it will take you around 30 min to reach gran place.
The breakfast was really simple, just some bread and coffee, but this is generally a European issue (for us non europeans used to have a good breakfast). In general, Brussels at nite has a very dense environment, so be aware if you're walking alone (specially for women), but I think this doesn't have anything to do with the hotel.

Friendly reception staff. Location not really convenient for travellers as 30 minute walking distance from Central Station. However, there are restaurants and supermarkets at the nearby streets. Bathroom shower also okay.
Upon check in, the reception staff will hand over the pillowcases, bed sheets, quilts to you and you need to make the bed yourselves. Anyway it's okay for us but just not expecting this. No towel offered, too. Luckily we brought our own.

The staff were very helpful and kind. You can call them at anytime of the day and they’ll answer. You could reach a bus stop by walking 1 min, then a 10min ride to the city center. We stayed in the fifth floor, the room had a terrace with a nice view. Although not too fancy, breakfast was good (fair for the price-coffee was delicious!) They have a lockers to leave your belongings if arrived before the check-in (bring your own lock) We personally liked the fact they give you clean sheets to make your own bed.
During summer, it would be nice to have fans in the rooms.

I only stayed one day, so I was not able to get the full "experience" of this hostel. I would recommend this based on its location, overall cleaniness, and value. I was in the 6-person mixed room, on the 5th floor so view was very nice! It was nice having a kitchen area in the room and balcony; however, it would have been much better if we were able to go onto the balcony. It seems like the balcony was purposefully kept off limits, from our room. The bunkbed was acceptable in size and comfort and sheets were freshly cleaned. There is a nice deck on 2nd floor (was open to guests) with adjoining pool/social room. Breakfast (included) was more than I expected: there was cold food and meat/cheese to make sandwiches if you wish, better than I've seen in other hostel "buffets". Overall, a good experience with the facilities.
My main complaint is the only ONE BATHROOM for six beds. I would have preferred a bathroom "AREA" with mulitple toilets and showers, even separated from my room, than just one assigned to our room. In addition, the shower can keep you up at night because it's so close to the beds. Other than this, I'd recommend Van Gogh.

I like the location, room, and breakfast, but mostly, I like the service. The staff at the hostel is the best, especially Maxime and Gulia, who were very kind and helpful. They did their best when I had questions about the city and asked to leave my luggage after check-out. I`m very greatful them and during my next trip to Belgium I know for sure where I`ll stay.
I didn't know that there wouldn't be towels in the room and that I would have to pay for them. There also wasn't any soap. I think it was written in the conditions and I wasn't attentive, but anyway, it was a little strange. Just take into note and be prepared.
