I absolutely loved everything about this hotel!! Every morning we were provided with a good breakfast, when we came in contact with any of the staff, we were always greeted with a smile and a hello. We got the ocean view room and that’s exactly what it was. We could open the sliding glass doors on the balcony and hear the ocean and see the ocean. It was beautiful. The ocean is about a two minute walk from the hotel. When you look at the pictures online, that is exactly how it looks. The thing that stood out the most with this hotel was the cleanliness of it. When we walked into the hotel, it smelled great. When we walked into the room. It smelled great. The bed was comfortable the room was very big. This hotel is close to everything a variety of restaurants are in walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to have a very clean, comfortable affordable hotel to stay in. We are already planning our next trip and we will most definitely be staying at this hotel.

If I have to come up with something that I didn’t like about this property, I guess it would be that there’s no smoking in the rooms. Lol it is a non-smoking hotel but you can go downstairs and smoke there.

The staff were helpful and accommodating throughout our visit. We loved that the hotel was just across the street from the beach. Speaking of the beach, the hotel provided beach chairs, towels, and even some beach toys, which was a huge convenience. Having a hot tub right in our room was a nice touch, perfect for unwinding after a day sightseeing. Plus, the rooftop deck offered a view of the ocean and is a great place to relax morning or evening. For breakfast, there's a continental spread available, although it is monitored by staff, so you will have to ask for each item. While the selection might not be extensive, it was a good way to start the day.

The parking situation was a bit tight. The limited spaces under the building are narrow, so be prepared for some maneuvering. There is additional street parking behind the hotel, but there are not always spaces close by, and I prefer our car onsite.

Hotel has 30 rooms, not too small, not too big. VERY family oriented. I'm from Oklahoma so I had plans to bring lawn chairs, sand toys, extra towels, etc. for the beach days BUT to my surprise as soon as you check in, the owner has all the above provided for your family to enjoy! Including family games to play in the room, floaties, you name it! The Owner was so nice and helpful! The rooftop is adorable, this place had a feel like it was your home, the breakfast was homemade. My mother-in-law had her own room, and she loved it as well. I could go on and on, I loved it and will definitely be coming back! GREAT JOB OCEAN SURF!

We love the location, the proximity to the beach, restaurants, and the laid back feel of the hotel. The rooms are clean, and you can see how much effort the staff puts into making everything nice and presentable! The front desk manager is very friendly and makes you feel at home.

No complaints. Maybe just a suggestion…It would be nice if there were some pictures, and maybe some planters in the hallways to the rooms, and on the rooftop deck, and in the courtyard, to liven them up a bit, and give them a little more of an inviting look! But those are just a few suggestions, nothing that would make us not want to stay there again! We love The Ocean Surf Inn! We will definitely be back soon!

Clean room smelt SUPER minty when we came in , nice staff, free beach items to use , towels, toys , chairs. Things also to do like games and books to read if you wanted to enjoy the on the rooftop

The only thing we did notice was how musty the ac smelt but we used it on dry mode most of the time since it was so humid so we didn’t have much of an issue when we used that option. We had an interior room so our room entrance was inside above the lobby. I will say it got kinda noisy from guests checking in , coming in the evenings coming off the elevator with their suitcases. But they can’t change that. Most guests were quiet but you’ll always have that one group or those families with loud kids. The staff was amazing and so nice.

The construction, was too loud, it triggered my husband's anxiety and panic disorders?! Sadly he had a meltdown and a seizure. Can't smoke on balconies; very inconvenient and a hassle, too much for Us! Unfortunately the conceire counted the deposit back to me and he totally counted our money back inaccurate. I had to correct him to count our deposit in cash, $150.00. I'm uneasy about deposits put on hold for these hotel's? Nope, not on my watch! Thankful!

What a gem! We paid a little extra for a room facing the ocean, with a balcony, so we could hear the waves, feel the breeze, and catch glimpses of the beach. It's very close - a quick pleasant walk. There's an elevator, so family with limited mobility could get to our 3rd floor room just fine. Fun little spots outside to sit, including rooftop terrace. Very chill beach vibe. Really comfortable beds! Breakfast is a bit unusual, but I knew what to expect after reading reviews, so the short wait was no problem and food was good! (Bonus tip ... Parking is limited. We got a great spot, so I looked around for dinner I could walk to and take out. Calico Fish House is a block away and we had the best meal -- clam chowder and steak salad were exceptional. Lobster roll also very good)

This location is nice and quiet. 2-5 minutes walking distance to the beach. The front desk staff were kind and professional. I was given some advice on cool places to eat with good prices. There in a Starbucks that’s within walking distance as well as a super cute market called Mother’s that is right next to a boat pier that we went and sat and relaxed had our breakfast and coffee. All in all this was a great stay for my birthday really was able to get some R&R. This place has a mom and pop feel to it. We also had a balcony that we came back to have lunch on.

the location could not be better. only steps from the beach, we’re able to walk to wonderful little Italian place and it was an easy drive to our cruise ship the next day.

Its not that we didn’t like things but be aware, they are obviously fixing the place up. Its a work in progress but its clean and the room we were in was very large with nice beds and a fresh coat of paint. Water was incredibly slow to warm up in the shower. This is likely because of the low flow requirements in CA. The man running the place was very odd and sarcastic which wasn’t inviting but he was harmless. There are only maybe 10 parking spots for the hotel. The additional parking was on the green belt between the hotel and beach front homes which were completely full. We got lucky and had a hotel spot but some guests had to park blocks away.

Location is perfect, right on the beach, with parking either under the property or on the adjacent street. Staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful and my room was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed, a good shower and wifi that was reliable, which is pretty much what i look for! Breakfast is simple but fine, the format avoids waste like in big hotels. I almost don't want to write such a positive review as I would like to keep this a secret so it does not get overbooked for my next stay, but Shaun (property manager) and his team deserve the business!
