Very interesting experience of staying on a farmhouse. The room was definitely better furnished than what I expect. The bed was super comfy and the sheets are very very clean.

It's hard to put my finger on it but it seems like the room is clean in some areas and dirty in others. It's probably because it's managed by an older couple but the toilet was stained very badly from the previous guest and it was not cleaned. Also a clear suggestion to rubber proof the shower because I cut myself on one of the sharp edges when I was stepping out of the shower.

The house is nice & cozy. It has a bit of an antique feel to it due to the furniture. The rooms are clean and tidy. It has a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook your meals. The bathroom is also very clean. The host is very nice and friendly. He explained about different things that we could do in West Iceland. The location is also good.

Last 8 kms of access road to the property is a gravel road, but this is manageable. However, there was a 18 kms stretch of gravel road on the 36 kms Laxárdalsvegur road, which was very bad. It seems that there is some construction going on there and hence road condition is very bad. In order to avoid this 18kms stretch, it's recommended that you continue down the ring road until little before Bifröst and then take the Vestfjarðavegur road to go up.

We loved our stay in Seljaland! The guesthouses are located in a stunning serene area among beautiful mountains. We stayed in a 9m² house that has two comfy beds with warm blankets, a microwave and some storage. The bathroom, wc and kitchen are in another building. The hosts sent us detailed information about the property so we knew exactly what we were getting. They also sent us a detailed route description, which was very helpful. There are no grocery stores in close proximity, but there is a small restaurant in Seljaland, and the food is super nice! Both the dinner and the breakfast were delightful. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the baked cod for dinner, and Níels was also kind enough to cook a delicious vegetarian meal for me. We wholeheartedly recommend this place and would love to come back again! Thank you Níels and Ragnheiður!

The view is stunning. The house overlooks a valley with a river and green pasture. The sheep are right in the backyard (fenced so you don't need to worry about animal waste everywhere). It was very relaxing. The hosttess seemed very nice by the way. The house is old but spacious with three bedrooms and can sleep 6 people. The kitchen is nice with a dishwasher, which is a bonus since many cottages we stayed in Iceland don't have dishwashers. The hot water is very nice and shower is great. Some decorations are antique and/or interesting. Overall it was great.

The location is remote and the main road 54 is gravel and under construction. It was a rough ride going around the entire peninsular until we got to the cottage. The cottage itself is very close to the ring road and the Westfjords, but since we drove from the west of the peninsula it was rough. Then the cottage is about 10 km from Route 54, and it took a while to get in. The house is old and the floor is creaky when walking. It's minor though, compared to the positives. Overall great experience and no hidden fine prints and surprises. Would like to stay there again next time, if going to Westfjords again.

One of the cutest places we stayed during our tour. We had a little balcony were we made our breakfast and dinner. The room has a microwave, a toaster and a mini fridge. We absolutely love it. On top of that, the host took his time to show us where to go for the rest of our tour and gave us a map of the peninsula. We also got to see the Northern Lights which was an amazing experience.

We were in a cottage which was very cute. Kitchen is small but ok equipped, bathrooms nice, clean and warm. Attention to detail. As the property is very isolated there is both perfect silence but also long bumpy road

Nowhere to sit and eat if bad weather. For longer stay it would be inconvenient.

If there was an option to give more than 10 rating, we would have given it. This place is soo peaceful, the host is super sweet and we had such an amazing time that we never wanted to leave the place. We saw northern lights with red flare since there was no light pollution. The host even let us chase his sheep. Awesome and lovely place.

We had the larger double room with the sofa bed and private bathroom/ kitchenette. I thought it was very good - the decor was rustic but well maintained and very clean room. We even had a little sun house to sit in - shame there was no sun 😂

Facilities in the kitchenette could’ve been a bit better stocked. We wanted to cook some basic food in the microwave but we’re stuck for full size plates in the cupboards and no forks. However, Niels, the owner was very friendly and has a reputation as a great cook being an ex chef. We wish we’d had time to sample his cooking which was available on request.

The host is super friendly. The location is a bit out of the way, but the mountain views are amazing and the place is very peaceful. There are also two cute little lambs on the farm, though you can't get too close. Overall, it's a great spot to relax. Highly recommend!

Great value and large 3 bedroom home. Loved some of the antiques int eh home and the "charm". Road to get to the house was "bumpy" and unpaved like many roads in Iceland but did add a little bit of time onto getting there and to Reykjavik. Owners with great communication and details to locate home. Accommodating for our late arrival as well.

a while on unpaved road to get to location
