Staff and location could not have been better. Restaurants were both good and wine/drink selections good too.

Our room’s air conditioner leaked all over the floor causing me to flip and fall and my back is still messed up months later and the fact that my clothing I had on the bed since the room is pretty tiny, fell on the floor and was also soaked by the mess was pretty gross to me. They came and fixed it and yet the same thing happened again the following night. Gross. Waking up and stepping into that water on the floor.

Nice and clean hotel. Loved the cork flooring in the room. Very nice staff who responded to requests quickly. Hot and warm pools were excellent.

Small things such as the bathroom drain was broken, so I couldn’t have a bath 🙄. Coffee machine was a bit tricky to figure out. The desk lamp where the coffee machine was didn’t work, so couldn’t see how to work it. Had to walk to the Manteo to check in, which was a pain.

The location was great, the room was very clean, there’s an espresso machine in the room with different flavours, the place is beautiful and has a great feel to it, the bed was very comfortable, the amenities were great although we didn’t use them. Just an awesome hotel altogether!

Was a little upset about the surprise resort fee considering we didn’t use the resort. It was a little pricy but all in all a very nice stay.

Beautiful location on the lake. Gorgeous views from the roof top. Fantastic bar/lounge area. Exquisite fine dining if desired. Lots of parking. Nice long walks to shops and restaurants on Pandosy Street.

Kept having to have our key cards reconfigured in order to access the building. They must be experiencing magnetic interference with those cards?

Love the lakeside location, the character and quality of the rooms, the convenience of the excellent restaurant and the gym. Staff is great. I think this is my 5th visit and plan to stay here next time we’re in town.

I didn’t know that we had to check in at the neighbouring Manteo, but it wasn’t difficult. Would have been a little smoother to have the information in advance so we could have stopped on the way to the other parking lot.

When we checked in the room provided faced the parking lot. The hotel clerk was very gracious about changing our room to one that faced the lake and it also had a very nice balcony. All the staff were very cheerful and helpful.

Did not like the shower/tub. Tub very small with very high sides almost not safe if you have any balance issues.

Lovely setting for a very good smoked salmon benedict breakfast. The receptionist made sure that I had a quiet room because there was a big party that night near my first room. I felt very welcome in the hotel, and enjoyed meeting the staff. The hotel itself is a landmark, and is very stylish. I'm tired of the sterile, stereotyped hotel room that the big brands offer, and I can see myself staying at the El Dorado many more times.

There was a very noisy flock of Canada Geese holding an important meeting just outside my window. They kept waking me up all night. This is entirely beyond the control of the hotel, and might be just a seasonal phenomenon. The waterfront view was great, however!

Breakfast was amazing.. it's pricy but I get it.. there are lots of options.. more than you could possibly eat for sure! everything on the menu, so much sea food, traditional breakfasts, omlette bar, roast beef, turkey dinner, pastries, like i mean everything! Very cozy, comfortable, and nostalgic. Room was so quaint just perfect! and the view was amazing, staff excellent.

Went off season. wish the bar was open past 12, dinner drinks are VERY expensive, when you can go next door to buy a bottle of wine for the same price as a 9 oz glass!!?? Pool and hot tub was indoor, a bit of a detour to get there from inside, but worth it. Would have been nice to have out door hot tub???

The facility is in a lovely location. Its waterfront deck is beautiful, even in the late fall when it was quite chilly. The room had customized artwork, was big and comfortable and generally as one expects from a quality resort.

My room looked at the parking lot instead of the lake but that was just luck of the draw.

The room was bright with lots of windows. The room had good amenities like a coffee maker, and mini fridge, wired internet connection, and a TV on a mount that could swing towards either of the two queen beds. The bathroom was spacious with a deep tub and a separate shower. Lots of choice on site for pools with a couple indoor pools and both a family and adult only outdoor pool.

The express checkout on Sunday had me go to the other resort and wait in line for 10 mins to drop off my key cards. Not too big a deal, but it would have been nice to have a drop box onsite. With all the wonderful pools, it would have been nice to have bathing suit dryers in the changerooms.
