Regarding the hotel itself, almost everything was great. Very good value for what we paied (two connected rooms for less than 100€ per room per night). Clean, solid quality, nice facilities... At a normal hotel you couldn't wish for more.

The communication regarding a possible late-checkout was difficult. We got at least three different infos (officially from the NH Hotel group) via their homepage, the telephone hotline and the Booking-chat. The outcome was absolutely fine, but until our check-in we didn't know for sure which info (check-out time and price) will be the right one. Also, the (external) parking garage massively increased their prices a few days before our arrival but the hotel homepage still stated the old ones. The hotel is not responsible for the parking of course but this old (lower) price-info led us to park there (instead of somewhere else maybe). Not a big deal, just a bit unlucky.

We ended up at this hotel after we had been evacuated from a night train. We were a party of 12 Girl Guides and 3 adult leaders who were inter railing across Europe and this was an unplanned stay. The check in staff member we spoke to was amazing, I am sure he had already had a very long, stressful night but he was so helpful and patient when checking us in. HE tried his best to get us rooms as close together as possible, he managed to split us across 2 floors so we could have at least one leader on each floor.

The stay was great and the girls really did enjoy a night in a hotel after staying the hostels we had used so far. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful.

NH Utrecht is very conveniently located for the railway station. Despite its location I wasn't bothered by street noise at all during my stay. I liked the tea/coffee making facilities. I also liked the fact that there was an empty fridge in the room, to store my own food and snacks. The room was a generous size for one person. It was good to have two chairs - there was both a desk chair, and a comfy armchair. I had breakfast at the hotel each morning, and was impressed by the choice available.

The hotel is located in an area that is very modern - the immediate surroundings don't have the character that one finds in the historic part of Utrecht. However, the old town is only about 10-15 minutes walk away.

This is an excellent hotel with large and airy rooms that have very comfortable beds and everything else one might need (nice and large bathroom with rain shower, electric kettle, airconditioning, fast WiFi). It is a few minutes away from the Utrecht central rail station and a large shopping Centre and restaurants right outside the station. One can easily walk to the centre of Utrecht in approximately 15 minutes, where there are many nice restaurants along the canals. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

I did not immediately find the hotel. One has to take the back exit from the rail station rather than the front exit and then cross a tram line. The hotel is located behind the station near a highway and tram lines, so the views from the windows are not beautiful.

Neat and clean. I always like NH style. Staff friendly, all facilities are good. Breakfast is great! Location VERY VERY convenient, just across the station.

Although I appreciate the minimalistic style and arrangements usual for NH hotel group, the shower setup was beautiful but not functional. Half shower door doesn’t protect the water coming out to the floor. So although we support green clean policy and would stay without HKP services, with this lakes on the bathroom floor it was not possible.

Breakfast is awesome. Continental with several options: from fried to healthy. Staff is amazingly kind and very polite and don't keep anything missing in the buffett. Highlight goes for the omelete a cheff can make out of fresh ingredients of your chosing. Another highlight is the fact that you can sit and ask for fresh eggs, omelete, bacon, sausages just for those that don't want what's on the buffet. Several options of coffee, machine, freshly brewed or even instant. The same goes for juices and teas available. The hotel is not in the heart of the city, which for me was great since all I got was a quiet room and no people screaming at night on the street, but that doesn't mean you're not in a good spot. You're 2 blocks away from train station - if you come from Amsterdam, you just have to buy train tickets in the airport itself, then go down the stairs, take the train to Utrecht, go out of the station, take the stairs down to street level, walk one block towards the street and you're right in the hotel. You're surrounded by good restaurants and places to have a nice cheap meal. You're like 4, 5 blocks away from the canals, and beware, despite the sun going down after 10pm in June, is hard to find a good place to eat, don't be fooled by the sun. There's a huge mall near the central station (opposite side of the hotel). By June 2022, DOM Church would only open until 2pm so no touring after that. St. Jacob's Church is a good option if you want to visit a church full of history inside each column or even in the floor, since it's a functioning Church that was inaugurated before Reformation, which means a beautiful architecture and lots of reading. All the way the canals you'll find free wifi, no password needed if you get lost. If you do get lost, don't worry everyone speaks in English and is very helpful. For buying groceries, water, beer, etc. look out for Albert Heijn's stores.

After covid, there's an empty minibar, no complimentary water and nothing besides some teas and 4 instant coffees. If you're not Dutch like me, you wouldn't know how EXPENSIVE the mini-market in the front desk is and you may end up buying 3 euros for a bottle of water that will cost less than 0.5 euro two blocks ahead, but if your thirsty after 20 hours tripping, you'd probably pay. WiFi is slow, as they want you to buy the Premium option, but it's bearable for working, but not that good for streaming. BTW, old flat-screen tv in the room is not smart, if you want the smart one you have to pay and upgrade your room.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this NH hotel, and it definitely lived up to the brand's reputation for superb quality. The standout feature, as always, was the incredible breakfast - a great start to each day, and of course the modern rooms and overall high quality. One unique aspect of NH hotels that added a special touch to my experience was the "guest of the day" incentive. Fortunately, I was randomly selected as the lucky guest of the day during my stay - this was for me the very first time at NH. I got chocolate, a room upgrade, free breakfast, premium wifi, etc. This unexpected perk added an extra layer of enjoyment to my time there. Thank you so much again for the amazing time and also for the super friendly staff.

They left some chocolates with a hand-written welcoming letter on the table. They think about all the needs of a traveler: multiple and easy-access charging ports and electrical connections, stands for your belongings in the shower (despite they provide liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner), lights in the closets, light switches that control all the lights in the room (so you don't have to stand up at different parts of the room to access them), and other little details that make your stay comfortable outside and inside the rooms

The water hotter for tea had some moisture inside, probably because people don't dry it after using it. I didn't report it because finally, I didn't use it, but I'm sure the service would have been happy to give me another one ASAP

The reception area was small but welcoming. It had welcome drinks, snacks and fruits. There was a little pantry (for purchases) if you need anything. I was given a corner room and it was large. Twin Room with a lounge chair. Able to work with the long desk. I liked it more that the room is not carpeted so it gave a real-clean feeling. The location was really near to the station.

The lobby had 3 lifts but if you were standing at first one, you can't see if the last one had arrived.

Great size room & good showers. Massive selection at breakfast including good gluten free options. Secure storage for bicycle. I know its a weird one, but really liked the width and decor of the corridors.

Hotel wanting to create an account just to get on WiFi. Having been in a new hotel every night for three weeks ranging from independent to corporate, this is the first one that insisted on this. Irritating - just wanted the Internet not a company relationship.
