We could see this place from quite a distance, And the closer we got , the better it became.. On arrival, their parking guy was on the case, and showed us where to park, helped to reception etc. To say we were WOWED, is almost an understatement, As someone who loves old buildings, History, And artistic things, It was almost a sensual overload. Everything, everywhere, the details, the one off peices of furniture, The sculptures. Our room was very spacious, With a very nice TV/ Lounge room, With views looking down on the peasants outside,,,, Well years ago anyway ! Breakfast was very well presented, And just the right amount. We did eat there in the evening,,,,, To be Brutal, Judging the Mains, and Based on price,,,, it was ok no more. 7/10 We decided if we ate there again, We'd have the superb bread basket, And 3 courses of the Superb deserts, Yes they were really good

The castle views are stunning! The ancient walls and authentic period furniture and decor is really out of this world fabulous! Modern conveniences such as comfy beds, exceptional (although a little pricey) dining, and a multitude of seating in cool nooks and crannies, make your castle stay fabulous! The staff go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and happy. An all around phenomenal experience!

The only downside was trying to figure out how to work the skeleton key to enter our room. But, that’s on us! 😂

The property was truly amazing. It was like walking back in time yet every comfort was catered for. Every corner was a photo opportunity and the renovations that there were had been sympathetically undertaken with castle’s history in mind. The restaurant served incredible food at a fine dining level. It was not only a holiday that we had at this property but it was truly an amazing experience. We would highly recommend.

There was nothing that we didn’t like about the property. The only thing that guests need to bear in mind is that the village below works to its own opening schedule as per the culture especially within smaller areas of Italy. If you decide to have lunch in the village you must check the opening times as most places have a siesta in the afternoon so an earlier lunch is recommended or else eat in the castle restaurant. Again for the evening meals check the opening times as culturally most Italian patrons will eat their evening meal much later, people coming in between 8-9pm.

We didnt know what to expect coming to Castello Di Limatola and we were blown away!! The hospitality of the entire staff was unparalleled. Of course it is a castle on top of a hill so there are some stairs and at times steep incline to navigate however there are multiple elevators and a golf carts on the property to accommodate. We got there about mid- day and they were able to whip up a delicious assortment of aperitif and we enjoyed every last bite. We even bought two bottles of the local wine they served us! We cannot say enough about the staff and how amazing they were. They were able to arrange transfers for us late at night, checked in on us during our stay and even told us to treat the castle as if it was our own home. Phenomenal service. We have heard wonderful things about Christmas time at the castle and we are looking forward to coming back. The location is BEAUTIFUL - however you need a transfer or car to arrive at the property. The room was so wonderful. They have two options modern rooms on the outside walls of the castle and traditional rooms physically in the castle. We stayed in the traditional room and it was great. Modern furniture, firm mattress, all the amenities in the bathroom , stocked mini fridge, safe, TV & AC. Shower was small but not an issue. We were very comfortable. Super clean.

It was awesome staying in a real castle. The staff was great.

I was not very impressed with the restaurant. The food was OK And overpriced for what I got. For some reason, I was not able to get the bill until the next morning at check out. I did not like the lighting in the room. The lock on my room door did not work. I did not complain about it, but told them when checking out.

The location was AMAZING! Incredible views from all sides of the castle. The dinner and breakfast were very nice, food was excellent, and the servers were the most kind and hospitable. The food was great as well and presentation extremely professional and with culinary creativity. The reception host was SO great and went out of her way to show us the room and orient us to our room and how to navigate the castle. The towels and robes were really thick and great quality material. And the CASTLE was unbelievable! It’s an actual CASTLE on a huge hill, and it was so surreal to be staying there, for a ram rally reasonable price!

We didn’t know where the check-in reception area was. The signage was a little non-existent. But we found it fairly easily, and we kind of appreciated that it still looked like authentic medieval castle without a lot of signage cluttering the view.

The beauty of the rooms, the interior and the view were all beyond expectance. The whole experience of staying in the Castello di Limatola made a perfect fulfillment of our Italy tour. To be able to combine the historical authenticity and modern comfort like they have achieved, must have taken a long time and lots of effort. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff was extremely helpful, they met all our questions with a smile and did what they could for us at any time.

Loved the fact we stayed in a castle, so unique and beautifully appointed.

The plastic chairs/ sofa set in the outside areas also we felt the rooms should be appointed with more traditional desks vs the modern desk they had in our room. If they do that a glass piece on the top would protect the wood. Restaurant evening meal could have had larger portions, it was the smallest portion in 3 weeks being in Italy.

The hotel is a real castle, you immediately feel that you are a part of another historical period of the past.

Apart of being a hotel, they are also organizing private events such as wedding parties etc. To some guests this might be annoying. It didn’t bother me though as it was giving an extra vibe and life to the whole environment of the area.

Back in time .Hotel in a castel , every thing was excellant . The suits , the breakfast. Sofia waited for us for a late check in explaind everything and was very helpfull even it was 23:00.we felt like in a film. The castel is very beautifull decorated and equiped with every thing. Sofia upgrated our room to one with jacuzzi so we enjoyed our stay very much. iIf you are in the area do not miss the stay in the castel.

It was dificult to find the entrance at night. More signs in the road and marks to the entrance and reception.
