The rooms were in a separate building from the bar/restaurant so were quiet. Nice room with king size bed with bath & shower. Nice finishing touches like robes, toiletries & irn bru & tunnocks caramel wafers. Also umbrellas at the entrance for guest use (ideal when it rained during most of our visit). Bed was really comfy & room clean. Staff really friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Nothing.

I stayed here for two nights while I was working locally. Perfect location for me, easy parking, seemed a secure/safe area off the main road. Love the style of the room and the furniture, all very cosy and comfortable and the desk area was ideal for me to work on my laptop when I needed. I wasn't needing a full sit down breakfast but the staff very kindly made me a bacon roll so I could get out to work quickly. I wish I was able to make use of the restaurant and bar facilities as it was a lovely cosy wee pub, maybe next time!

No complaints at all

We had 2 rooms. Rooms nicely decorated and well equipped. Well stocked courtesy tin with tea coffee etc and even some Irn Bru! Plenty of towels the bath towel was a really good size and some lovely complimentary toiletries. A big plus was a small dressing table with mirror and close to plugs which was appreciated. Comfy bed and soft pillows - heaven Rooms set back from the road so not disturbed Meal in the restaurant was fantastic and breakfast next morning was well cooked and presented nicely. There was even a menu for our 4 legged friend

I can’t find fault we had everything we needed and the staff were very helpful

I didn't have time for breakfast, but had dinner on one night of my stay in the pub which was very nice, warm and welcoming. The bedrooms were excellent - clean and very quiet tucked away behind and very easy and close to the carpark for luggage. The rooms were warm and the feather duvet and pillows so comfortable.

The Yale lock on the bedroom door wouldn't lock from the inside, but it did feel like a safe place to stay.

My colleague and I booked two rooms at the Horseshoe the day before we needed to stay. We were struggling to find somewhere in the area we needed to be and this seemed to meet our requirements. We were not expecting much but it turned out to be an excellent choice. When we arrived we received a friendly welcome and decided to eat straight away as we had arrived quite late. The menu choice was really good and full of local produce. I had one of the best meals I have had in quite some time. After the meal we went to our rooms which were a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast the following morning was just as good as the meal the evening before. Every member of staff we spoke with while there was extremely helpful and friendly. I can't recommend the Horseshoe Inn highly enough and will definitely stay again when I am in the area.

Nothing I can think of :)

Our room was really lovely. Bed was lush-looking with the huge velvet headboard. Very comfy, with feather duvet. (Pillows could have been plumper for my taste, but, that's just me.) Potted plants and mirrors were fab! Gave the room a real touch of class. Not forgetting the beautiful, quality curtains. Loved the duck in the bathroom! Food is first-class. Nice choices for a veggie like me, really appreciated. Thanks Chef! Breakfast was very good. An automatic jug of hot water for the tea would be nice. However, a huge pot of tea! Proper china, too. The dining room is full of quirky touches - loved it all. We will definitely be back.

Nothing. All good. Would happily recommend.

What a find, this place is fantastic, great value for money. Great location, just a short bus ride into Edinburgh and the nearby village of Peebles is lovely too. Very cosy and welcoming. Iain and Fiona were great hosts and friendly, offering tips on places to go and travel. We came to watch Bruce Springsteen in concert at Murrayfield and the few days we stayed over did not disappoint. The food here is exceptional, and not overly pricey would return here in a heartbeat and will be back in the future for sure.

The staff were all very welcoming and helpful.

The Horseshoe Inn was OK but just a bit disappointing, th room was adequate, but being separate from the bar and restaurant was slightly inconvenient. In a similar way the food in the restaurant was acceptable but not exceptional.

This is my third visit to the Horseshoe Inn. I travel a lot for work all year and I am now 'experienced' enough that if somewhere is good, book again. It is perfectly located, quiet, comfortable and well equipped. The staff are excellent and always ensure you have everything you need.

The bathrooms can be a little cramped - clean, tidy etc, but for example the towel rail in Room 4 prevents being able to sit square on the toilet... but, first world problems. I have nothing negative to state.

Bedroom was beautiful with the biggest and comfiest bed we've ever slept in when away. Room was quiet and spotless with the cams of irn bru and the tunnocks wafer being a lovely Scottish touch. Breakfast was perfect, lots to choose from we had the Scottish breakfast which had the nicest haggis I've tasted. Will definitely book again and have dinner in the restaurant this time.
