My husband and I liked everything about the accommodation. We were there in August, 2022. The young man on reception was excellent - he also doubled up in the bar. Nothing was a bother for him. The breakfast room and breakfast were excellent. All the staples were available eg cereal (6 choices), yogurt, tea, coffee, toast (3 choices of bread), bacon, scrambled eggs. (Note: the breakfast is included in the tariff). The young girls who were replenishing the food were also excellent. We had a ground floor room which was close to the "red" door which led directly onto the car park, which was incredibly convenient for getting luggage in and out. Our room had a walk-in shower with taps which were clearly marked "hot" and "cold". The location was fantastic - close to the shops and restaurants. The modern RSL is just across the road. (wise to book) We loved the feel of the hotel - in its day, it would have been amazing, but you can still appreciate the original features even today. We had traveled from the Novetel in Darling Harbour (which we liked), but we also liked the coziness and laid-back feel of Hotel Blue. We'll be back!

The hotel's location is fantastic, with easy access to the Three Sisters lookout and other local attractions. The charm of the historic building added a unique and cozy feel to the stay, and the beds were very comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the complimentary continental breakfast was a nice touch to start the day. Parking was easy and hassle-free during our stay.

Some areas of the hotel could use a bit of an update, as they feel a little dated. While the breakfast was nice, the selection could be expanded for a bit more variety.

Breakfast was very good only the time it starts would be more convenient at 7.45 am. Our room was comfortable. Would have liked a second chair to sit on. The hot water was excellent! The bed was comfortable & plenty of rugs & dunas for the colder nights. Very convenient location near the RSL Club for meals.

The room was a little bit pokey. It was recommended not to use the air conditioner for cooling because it drips. The fan we were given was great for the hot night.

The Rooms at Hotel Blue were spacious, warm and comfortable. the bathroom was clean, and the water hot. Continental Breakfast is offered with accommodation, comprising of cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit, juice, tea and coffee. This is more than adequate. The common rooms are furnished in an older style, but are very comfortable and welcoming. There are some games to play if the weather is too wet to encourage outside activities. This is a nice hotel to stay at. There is also parking available and if you are a good walker there are lots of things to see within walking distance.

I don't think I can find anything to fault. It is an older style Hotel and what you would expect of this type of accommodation.

The interiors of the property are lovely with antique furniture and beautiful lead light windows. It was a quiet location and there was off street parking which gave easy access thru a back door. Our room was a very large family room with a modern shower room (with adjacent separate toilet and hand basin) The large bed was really comfortable. It had a huge tv for a bit of Olympic viewing. There was a basic continental breakfast served in the morning but we were keen for a cafe so didn’t eat there but it was served in a nice dining area and the staff were lovely. I’d definitely stay there again.

The size of the room was amazing. We were a family of 5 travelling. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was good quality. The suite was massive and the TV was huge. The breakfast although basic was fresh and tasty. The staff were very friendly. Parking was easy. Location was excellent just a quick walk go Katoomba high street. Cafe across the road for good coffee.

The only negative would that the hotel is a bit tired and musty as you enter but I'm sure improvements will be made in time. Maybe a candle or similar could be going during the day.

It’s interesting. Lovely lounge room and breakfast room with leadlight windows and decorated plaster and cornices The rooms and bedding were clean. The showers hot The Continental Breakfast was good. They had Gluten Free bread and cereals too. Plenty of breads, muffins etc to choose from. There was a choice of milks including Soy, Oat and Almond .

The corridors and stairs needed a vacuum there was white plaster or paint pieces around. It’s needing a bit of an upgrade to carpets and painting. I don’t think the bar was opened at all

Beautiful old lounge room . Love the old furniture around the hotel . Next door to RSL club Staff were pleasant when we came across them .

Was there Tuesday to Sat . Bar wasn’t open as advertised and it was too cold to sit in lounge as fire was never on. We were told we could light it if we wanted but it would have been more inviting it being on from late arvo Rooms very basic although we’d been upgraded had to sit on the bed to watch TV as no where to sit which staying a few days was uncomfortable

We really enjoyed our stay. Despite being old, the hotel has a lot of character, with old fashioned chairs and a lounge/games room to relax in. We spent a lot of time there. The room was small, but comfortable, and we slept well. A light breakfast was also provided. There’s an RSL next door, and it’s a short drive to the shops and Wentworth Falls Lookout.

The bathroom was very tiny. We couldn’t get changed in it as there wasn’t room to move around.

Location was convenient for our travels in Katoomba. The room provided for all our needs and the establishment was sensitively maintained to keep the heritage feel of the area. We needed to change rooms and this was organised without any difficulty.

As we had not asked for rooms on the ground floor, it was difficult to negotiate the stairs for luggage, breakfast and general movements. The manager checked us in and was quite abrupt in her approach to our questions. This seemed to reflect a sombre atmosphere to our stay.
