The location was great, the room was spacious, loved the separate shower room. The staff is very nice and welcoming. We loved the couch in our room. Happy to also have a view of the castle. The laundry facilities were also a plus. Room was very comfortable.

The room had shelves in the closet that were extremely dusty and hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We had put some bags up there and when we pulled them down, they were covered in dust and it flew through the room. The rest of the room was very clean though. The staff was nice but not very English speaking friendly. We had only come across one English speaking staff member for our whole stay. So google translate was our friend to help with our limited Japanese. Would have loved to experience the onsen but the property had strict rules about tattoos.

location is the best near castle and shopping spot. Large room size where you can open 2-3 luggages and big shower room

Location wise this hotel is in the middle of the hustle and bustle of central Kumamoto so great if you are aiming for that. Getting from and to the JR Kumamoto station was also very straightforward and quick. The room was spacious and clean, with touches of luxury throughout. Size of the room was above average for Japan measures. Breakfast was also varied and the views from the breakfast area are grand (Kumamoto castle grand!).

For a hotel this big the public bath felt small and was crowded most of the time (not sure if I was there when big groups of tourists from overseas were also staying at the hotel). Also for a hotel this size and number of stars one would expect the public bath is cleaned more regularly (the light coloured floor was full of hair every time I visited with trash on the floor at the sides of the locker space). Also I felt that the price was a little high compared to other hotels in the area.

Booked one quadruple room for a family of five. The kids 10,11,14 shared two beds by pushing them together to sleep as one big bed. Enough space to open two luggages. Lovely room setup. Onsen was wonderful with a cold pool to dip in. Overall the hotel feels quite new. We parked opposite the hotel at Times parking. Many restaurants and convenience stores nearby

The extra blanket for the fifth person was a heavy scratchy kind which wasn’t warm enough and scratched my neck the whole night. Other than that it was a good experience.

Room was reasonable size for Japan. Well appointnted and modern. The onSen was excellent. Location was very central and easy to walk everywhere. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Easy to check out...dropp key off as leaving..

Information on the parking before arriving would have been useful. We had a lot of trouble actually finding the hotel and initially went to the wrong hotel. This caused a 2 hour delay driving around the city...very annoying. Should have better location information when booking.

There was a rooftop onsen spa called "Sky Spa", where you can enjoy the night views while dipping in an artificial hot bath. Breakfast variety was good and seats were abundant. You can also enjoy a view of Kumamoto Castle if your breakfast seats were good. Good location within the (actual) heart of Kumamoto where the restaurants and eateries and shopping street are located.

Breakfast requires a timing reservation and you'd have to adhere to it. 7:15-8:00 seems to be the most popular. Too many people in the Sky Spa when the hotel is fully booked. Washing machines stopped working after so many guests used it, but was fixed within the hour.

I love everything about this hotel and wished I stayed an entire week. There are too many good things to say: 1. The property itself - the entrance is fantastic and the elevator is fast. 2. My room was great. The size is good for what I paid and the lighting fixtures are perfect. 3. The sky spa - I love the spa with the sauna and open-air bath. 4. The toiletries smell great - hair care, facial care, body wash 5. I feel that the scents used in the toiletries permeate the building. My room smelled great when I entered and after each cleaning.

Couldn't use the spa at all. Too many guests not following the rules and covering themselves with a towel. Tried to go in at midnight and there were just 2 dozen Chinese men in there making 0 attempt to follow the rules and cover their front

I would definitely stay there again: The rooftop baths were fantastic, the staff were professional yet friendly and helpful (only encountered one who was a little abrupt, but it may have been a language barrier issue…), the rooms were beautifully clean and well equipped, and the location was absolutely brilliant. I loved being in the centre of town, which became lively at night with many dining, shopping and entertainment options (but could not be heard from the hotel which was just slightly removed); there were wonderful parks and quiet spaces within walking distance; an amazing building with beautiful public garden spaces and everything one may need including free wifi (Sakuramachi Kumamoto); and anything else was only a short tram ride away (tram stop was very close too). Absolutely fantastic hotel and experience, great services, did consider massage and other services offered but simply ran out of time!!!

Nothing, everything was very good. The japanese speakers spoke slowly and courteously, and there were a number of English speaking staff which made it easy. The room did not have usb connectors but reception provided the appropriate chargers as required.

The hotel is just next to a very big shopping arcade, with a lot of restaurants and shops. So you will definately find something you like to eat or shop. But even you are full in the action, you will have a good and quiet sleep (especially after the onsen 😄). The Kumamoto castle is is short walking distance and the street car station is also nearby.
