Welcome to a beautiful garden with loved ones. We booked a wonderful safari tour through the lodge with a knowledgeable driver as guide. The box includes breakfast, snacks, drinks. Saw many animals and then had a delicious lunch. Friendly host and staff and the room was clean and perfect. Highly recommend bird (bats) lake tour with them. Thanks again everyone.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Nehansa Resort and Safari in Tissamaharama, just 30 minutes away from Yala National Park. The staff's warmth and dedication made our stay exceptional. They were incredibly helpful and ensured we had a memorable experience. The resort's serene ambiance, spacious rooms, and beautiful garden provided comfort and relaxation. The on-site restaurant served delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. This resort offers outstanding value for money, given its quality and proximity to Yala National Park. Conveniently located near the park entrance, it made our early morning safaris effortless. Meeting the owner, Mr. Anura, was a delightful experience. His genuine kindness and passion for the resort and wildlife added a personal touch to our stay. Nehansa Resort and Safari is a must-visit for Yala National Park adventurers. The exceptional staff, good facilities, affordability, easy access, and the owner's personal touch make it an unforgettable destination.

Honestly, there wasn't anything we didn't like about our stay. It was fantastic from start to finish.

If I could rate this place a 12/10 then I would. Easily the nicest place we have stayed in sri lanka. Immaculately clean. Excellent ac. Very comfortable bed. Stable wifi. The staff are simply wonderful. So friendly and so helpful, the highlight in an already 5* room. We were advised on which buses to take, and taken to a from the bus stops for free on a tuktuk, organized the safari, took us to a nice restaurant, available at all times. We were greeted with a cold king coconut on arrival which was a great treat! They prepared breakfast/snacks to take on the safari and made sure we had time for coffee in the morning before we left. When we returned from the safari we were provided with fresh mango! The safari was incredible - I'm not sure if the driver/guide is the one who always does the safaris from this hotel but he was amazing!! He was so knowledgable and could spot wildlife at great distance. He was so patient and allowed lots of time for appreciating the wildlife

The only negative thing I could comment on was the shower pressure which wasn't amazing - otherwise i couldn't fault it!

We booked this place because of the good reviews and all of it was true! We were looking for a place that could arrange a half-day safari in Yala for us and they did! The night before the safari the staff took us on a car ride along a lake and we spotted some beautiful birds. We were on the hunt to see crocodiles and we found 2. We finished this small extra safari looking at 1000+ fruitbats who just woke up after sunset and flew away. It was breathtaking! The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is very good! And you can order dinner here (or go to Smokey Kitchen which is 6 min by tuktuk and very good local food!!)

Exceptional customer service. Very quickly after booking the manager Priyankara maessaged me to introduce himself. He provided very helpful information or how to travel there from Ella including bus times, bus licence plate number and his friend was ticket guy on the bus so he also told me where to get off the bus. Priyankara then met me at the bus stop in his tuktuk and toot me back to Nehansa. I was given a welcome coconut drink on arrival in the beautiful garden where they even have wild spotted deer that they feed. That evening Priyankara took me on a complimentary tuktuk ride to the lake to see the fruit bats at dusk which was cool. Priyankara arranged my whole day safari with driver Asanka who was lovely and definitely recommend. Yala is a big park and the jeeps go in different directions so you sometimes feel you have the park to yourself. Picnic breakfast and lunch included. Lahiru -staff member at Nehansa is super nice and friendly. The day after my safari Priyankara and Lahiru were amazing and went above and beyond to help me. I had found a street dog at the lake with a bad case of mange. Priyankara arranged for a vet to come to Nahansa and with Lahiru we went looking for the dog. For just £5 the vet came out, gave the dog two mange injections and a worm tablet! Thankyou! Great place to stay and excellent customer service all round. Highly recommended

I was travelling alone so had to pay for a private jeep. This may be out some peoples budget so would be nice if there was some jeep sharing options between guest houses

Absolutely amazing experience with Nehansa Resort. The owners shown us very special attention, they took us from the bus stop, organised a special little tour for us to see the sunset and birds, gave us great recommendations what to do around, helped with the laundry very quickly:) When we came at the reception they welcomed us with fresh coconut juice, so I can definitely say that their service is of the highest quality. We took safari tour with them, only the best recommendations as well. The room was very clean and cosy, it had AC and all the other things needed. The area around is beautiful, there is a cosy garden around the room. At the resort they also suggest a lot or food options for decent prices. Whenever I’m back to area,I will come here.

Amazing place with wonderful staff who want to help you. Calm, relaxing environment where you can feed deer and sit overlooking the well kept garden. We enjoyed 2 nights here, including two dinners which were very nice. The Safari organised by the hotel is really good, they even supply tea, coffee and cake before you leave and a bowl of fresh fruit when you’re back. One of the staff members drove us to the bus stand and helped us to get to our next location. Would recommend if staying in Yala and looking for a well priced, well organised safari stay.

Dinner does take a long time to cook but this wasn’t too much of an issue for us as we had no evening plans and were happy to wait.

Lovely peaceful place and the room was clean and comfortable. They arranged a safari (in-house) & we had a fabulous driver/spotter. Breakfast is included & you can order other meals there too - which are all good. They provide daily water, a trip to the lakes to do some bird, croc & bat spotting & they have deer out the back that come when they're called! Their main focus is keeping the customer happy & it's evident in everything they do. The staff are amazing- they really want you to have a good time. Thanks especially to Mihirange, Priya & Shamika who made my stay wonderful!

We love this place: best accomodation so far in our Sri Lankan trip. The room is big and very clean, the location is perfectly mantained. We really appreciated the 360-degree service from the staff. They are polite and helpful, and we enjoyed chatting with Priyankara, Mihiranga and the others. They even took a 9 hour go-and-come-back journey to come and pick us in Passikudah to take us to the resort, as there weren't other options for us to reach the place in reasonable hours. Moreover they took us to see the family of deers living nearby and organized a private tour to visit the lake, while explaining us the local wildlife. Of course they did organize the safari to yala national park, which was a good value for money because they took care of literally everything (breakfast, lunch, transportation, jeep and safari tickets) for a good price. Finally, they made us a lovely local dinner and knowing that after checkout we needed to go to Ella they checked for us the buses's timetables and dropped us to the bus station.

We absolutely loved our stay at Nehansa Resort! The staff went above and beyond from start to finish. We booked very last minute and the manager messaged straight away to organise pick up from the bus stop we were being dropped off at (this was free!). We were also helped when it came to figuring out how to get to our next spot - the manager dropped us off at the bus stop and also waited with us till the bus came to make sure we got on ok. We were greeted on arrival with fresh coconuts (very much needed after our 4hr bus journey from Galle) and were then taken on a mini safari around the nearby lake which again was included in the price. We booked our safari at Yala National Park through the hotel also - this trip was absolutely incredible! Our driver Amila did such an amazing job at spotting the different wildlife and we could not have asked for a better driver/guide. We enjoyed our stay and safari so much that we extended our stay and booked on the safari again for the following day (this ended up being even better than the first day with us spotting 3 different leopards). The room we stayed in was lovely and super clean. It also had A/C which was very much needed after the safari. We ate here every night and the food was great - the portions were big so we never went hungry! The breakfast that was included on the safari was also plentiful and tasty. Shout out to the 2 guys on the front desk (apologies as we didn't catch your names) - they were both fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Nehansa Resort and Safari is hands down the best value for money hotel we've ever stayed in!
