The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, they went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and had everything we needed. Special thanks to Sasika Bogahalande (manager) for providing local recommendations, or quickly addressing any requests, their friendliness and professionalism made a significant difference in my experience.

I did notice some areas for improvement, particularly in cleanliness and bedding comfort. The room could have been cleaner, as I noticed that could have been addressed more thoroughly. Additionally, the bedding, while acceptable, was not as comfortable as I would have hoped. The mattress was a bit too firm for my liking. Improving these aspects would greatly enhance the guest experience. Despite these issues, I enjoyed my stay and would consider returning if these improvements were made.

We had a wonderful stay at the Avonil Resort. The room was clean and spacious. The air conditioning works well. The shower did not always get hot. The staff is friendly, thoughtful and ready to help you if you have any questions. We had an excellent breakfast and a delicious meal in the evening, although the restaurant has little atmosphere. Our attendant each evening was exceptionally friendly. The hotel manager brought us for a good price to our next hotel. This hotel is a good location for a safari in Yala, you leave at 5:00 am and receive a small breakfast package with an egg/cheese sandwich, a juice, a banana and a bottle of water. A safari can be arranged through the hotel, but we chose to do this through another party. We spent USD 60 per person for a private safari, the hotel charges slightly more, but this price is perfectly in line with the market.

The property provided a wonderful, relaxing retreat, with every detail meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean. From the spacious room with a large, comfortable bed and well-functioning air conditioning to the beautiful balcony views overlooking the serene paddy fields and stunning sunsets, our stay exceeded expectations. We're already looking forward to a return visit in the near future.

The TV & dialog connection was not working and found few insects in the room. water pressure was bit low and could be improved.

Very spacious and comfortable rooms. This is one of the better places we stayed during our trip around Sri Lanka. Good dinner at a reasonable price and international + Sri Lankan breakfast. WiFi and air conditioner work very well. Nice swimming pool on the property. Friendly staff.

The shower water doesn't get very hot (but the water pressure is fine). Bathroom is not as clean as modern hotels (but still good for the area). Location feels isolated; best if you have your own car.

The room was very spacious and meticulously clean :) it lies quiet among rice fields, which I loved. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful. The food was good 👍 and the showers hot or cold, depending how you liked it. Laundry service was perfect. Yala safari was perfectly organized for me as well as a TukTuk to the city when I needed it.

Only tiny thing was, that the pool looked brackish green instead of blue which wasn't very inviting. Something with the chemicals. It was okay for me, I just took a nice cool shower that day.

The room was spacious with large beds and a clean washroom. Water was hot but water pressure was a little too low. Equipped with kettle and tea/coffee packets. The restaurant had food that catered to all types of palette and the morning breakfast spread was very good too. We had the continental spread.

The Google map location can sometimes lead you down a dirt path to get here. Maybe some signage on the main road will help us take the correct good road to this place.

The staff were lovely, the hotel was rather busy and he automatically picked up on this and ensured our stay was special by provided complimentary cinnamon tea and rice balls- this was a lovely touch! The hotel grounds are lovely and in a great location, the rooms are also very big.

The pool did have live bugs in which put us off getting in, the loungers could also be more comfortable as they had no cushioning.

Perfect for our stay while touring Yala. Super nice staff, incredible food, great pool and the room was fantastic! AND they were incredibly accommodating when our tour went a little past check out. Let us stay late and have another delicious lunch before we got back on the road in our tuk tuk. Would absolutely stay here again when in the area!

Rooms are spacious and clean , well maintained. Good view of fields from top rooms can enjoy evening cup of tea from the balcony . The most delicious Srilanka fish curry enjoyed at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately I could not use the clean pool .The owner and staff are helpful.

The room is huge and clean, there is also a lounge space with a sofa and a small table. Bathroom is ok, maybe needs a bit of renewal. The pool was great during the hot days, the staff gave us also some pool towels, very nice and appreciated service. From there you can also arrange a safari tour at Yala. Recommend!
