The location of Chez Coco is in a fantastic position within the walled town of Riquewihr. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant and the hosts hospitality was exceptional despite the language barrier with us only having limited French and the owners speaking no English! All the amenities, restaurants, cafes and shops are within easy walking distance with the bus-stop just outside on the main road for buses further afield ie Colmar.

It was very difficult to find any parking outside the ramparts especially free-parking. We managed to find a spot for which we paid the hours up to 19.00 pm and then it was free until 9.00 am the next morning. Wi-Fi in the property was not great but that may have been because of the location of our room on the top floor. Also we could not get the TV to work and there were no instructions to help with this.

Accommodation with local people on a RBNB basis. The least we can say is that the accommodation is just like the magnificent town of Riquewihr: magnificent! Bricks and wood make a beautiful combination. Breakfast was very good and was shared with other guests, which made it easy to exchange information and share experiences. A special mention for the little cat, Zoé, who unfortunately doesn't come to sleep with the residents.

The only downside is that, for ecological reasons, in the bathroom we had, the hot water took a long time to arrive (it took minutes for the water) and the WI-FI wasn't always efficient. But it's all very minor!

The property is very well located. The owner and her family are very kind and supper friendly. Always one step ahead and devoted. A huge breakfast included with many option to chose from. Not a single noise in the room during the night, perfect for sleeping. The temperature was just right all night long. Very clean and private bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and clean also. We most likely will come back to stay here whenever in the region again.

All was perfect

Chambres chez Coco is a great place to stay! Everything, from the interiour of the rooms, to the tea table was exceptional. Included breakfast consists of local cheese, charcuterie, patisserie and granola of choice. It was so extensive that we felt full till late lunchtime. Rooms are squeaky clean, there are more than enough fresh towels and hair dryer. Hosts are living in the same house as well as other guests but in general it was quiet. Location is superb, within 5 minutes you can find cheese shop, wine degustation, a couple of restaurants and local souvenirs. Owners are so kind and welcoming, they have made our stay really exceptional.

Sometimes on the third floor you can hear other people taking showers, but it's not a big problem. Every hour the city bell is ringing which may be good if you don't want to miss your breakfast. But it's not 100% soundproof. Also, lights on the stairs are automatic and they don't turn on until you go really closely to them. No elevator - but it's a common thing for ancient buildings, so no surprises there.

Staying at Chez Coco was like being in a Fairy tale. Despite being in a medieval building, the room was new, comfy and well furnished with everything you may need. Moreover, on the same floor and in the one below there were shared comfy spaces with sofas, books, table games, cake and a boiler to make tea or coffee. Breakfast was composed of local products like croissants, cheese, ham, jams, fruit and yogurt. All was delicious! Madame Coco and her husband were exquisite and helpful, and I really recommend their B&b.

For us this was not a problem, but the room was on the last floor of the house (the 4th) with very steep stairs. There is no private parking but Madame Coco did tell us when we reserved, and we had no problem finding a place to park our car just outside the city walls. Sleeping in Riquewihr was worth it, and these little troubles were not a big deal.

Nicely decorated and the rooms are upstairs. Although we felt bad bumping in in their living area, there was much space upstairs for us guests and even a lounge area in front of the room. The private bathroom in the assigned room was modern, clean and well equipped.

… it just felt we intruded their living area when passing by the kitchen. Everything about the property was perfect.

This location was perfect. We were in Riquewihr for Christmas Markets. When we arrived we noticed this place right away. People were taking photos by the lights. It looked like a perfect Christmas in an old French Alsatian town. When we walked in we were impressed by all the old beams, and the atmosphere of the location. Everything was very clean and the hostess was most welcoming. Breakfast was typically French with the addition of several very good cheese selections.

Because this is an old walled town with ramparts, parking was not available on site. But we followed her directions and went to the top of the town. It brought us to the parking lot that she said was closest to the property. Parking was free from 9 PM to 9 AM. We paid for a few hours when we arrived and then put some more money in the meter the next morning to see more of the town. Figuring out how to pay for parking might be difficult for some travelers who are not used to Europe's paid parking. The other issue was getting luggage up the stairs. But the atmosphere of the property was worth it.

This was the most lovelies properties we have stayed in this 2 month trip in Europe. Everything was top shelf. The location was feet within the walks of the village. You would look long and far to find better people and charm at this truly French gem. Thank you for 3 great nights.

Love this place. First of all, the owner of this place is a nice lady and very helpful. She doesn't speak english at all and we couldn't speak any french, but she has google translate gadget. The place is close to back gate of the town. There is free parking space close to the payant parking, so ask the owner for the location (we didn't know and pay for nearby street parking a few euros before it is free from 19.00pm-9.00am). The room is cosy like home and the bathroom has relaxing lighting. The place is a traditional house on the outside, renovated to modern home inside.

Do manage you belongings in small bag. Otherwise you have to drag big luggage through cobbler stone street of old town and carry it up to 4th floor.

The lady who runs Chez Coco helped us and worked around our needs to make our room available when we needed it…without hesitation. She was happy and super helpful. The breakfast was great and again she was on hand to make sure we had all we needed. Due to having a large late dinner the night before we couldn’t eat all that was on offer…only wish we could have done. I’m sure we’ll stay here again and make a bigger dent into the breakfast then!

Nothing at all. Tiny watch out for future guests is the need to be able to climb stairs.
