After spending many nights in airconditioned rooms, it was heavenly to sleep in fresh air! The guesthouse is located in a small village not too far from Ubud. You can make beautiful walks in the ricefields and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. The villa is very spacious and the garden is beautiful. I enjoyed a morning swim in the almost private pool. Putu and Kadek made the most delicious vegan breakfasts. Every day something else and always fantastic.

Eveything about this property was enjoyable! The location is on a road that can only be accessed by walking or scooter. The road itself is fun and interesting (don’t make a wrong step 😉). Once we walked onto the property it was mesmerizing! There are (I think) 4 bungalows, and they are all private. The private terrace is soo cozy! I spent nights sitting and listening to the wildlife. It even made me cry one night. The sounds of different nature, the peaceful setting, and just being was serene. The room itself is cozy. Bed is nice! And my FAV part of the room; the bathroom 😍 I’ve always wanted an outdoor shower and toilet. And I was beyond perfect. While doing our bathroom duties we were watching a frog hop in the plants, or heating the many sounds of nature, and slightly feeling a bit on guard (hahaha) but the calmness over took me. We had one scary (surreal) moment when a snake was found twirling in the upper wooded banisters in the ceiling, while I was taking this calming shower. It freaked me out, but I was quickly reminded that I chose a place on a rice field, in the jungle, and an open air place. The snake was leaving since he doesn’t like light. We told the owner right away and he was sooo nice and reassuring. They even checked the room the next day while we were out to make sure it wasn’t back at night. I appreciated their care, empathy, and overall soothing nature. The owners have two small boys and they are darling! If you come with kids around the 7 and 9 range, they will have playmates. My other FAVORITE part of the property was having breakfast. There is a little hut (garden bungalow) to enjoy breakfast. It was out of this world soo cool! And that was the cherry on top for me. I highly recommended booking here, rent a scooter, and explore!

Nothing! Absolutely nothing! They have been the property care takers for 20 years and the owners live elsewhere; this place is immaculate!

Kindness and friendliness of the host. Breakfast was different every day and home made from the hosts, fresh and tasty. Amazing location in the rice fields away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The cabin is cozy and it had a little kitchen downstairs with fridge and drinking water. Bathroom and shower are outside. The garden surrounding the cabin is amazing. The pool was clean and great.

It took us a little bit to get used to the lizard and gekos that were sleeping in the cabin during the day and walking on the roof by night. Nothing too extreme, the mosquito net around the bed works perfectly. Such a beautiful carved wood cabin that might require a little love as the termites are destroying it unfortunately.

Location is close to very good, affordable and tasty restaurants. Caretakers were very responsive and took care of us. Food was exceptionally great, no noise but only the sound of the birds and nature. Cadek (not sure if I spelled his name right, and Putu (his wife) took care of us very well. Will definitely come back and stay here again when we get the chance to visit Ubud. The place has a booklet with a list of activities, it also includes a list of very nice and helpful people that helped us through our journey while we were in Ubud, and very priced fairly I would say.

Limited options for food, personally we don't mind it but for people who prefer a different meal should have options.

A little gem nested in the middle of the rice field and nature. From the room, nature is everywhere. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is a very quiet place. The manager Kadek is very nice and accommodating. Breakfast is a dream. Ubud centre Is located 20mins away walking (and it is a pleasant one) or 5mins with a cheap scooter taxi.

Just as a warning, as the rooms are located in nature nad open on nature, it comes with animals noise and some insects visiting. Nothing scary at all AND the mosquito net works perfectly but might be unpleasant for some people.

The breakfasts were exceptional, beautifully prepared vegetarian meals which the contents/recipes were fully described each day, which was interesting.

My joglo was at the bottom of the garden and seemed to be in some sort of internet shadow, connection was infrequent. The connection from the restaurant at the top of the hill was excellent and the owner had no problem with me phoning from there, so no problem. It would be a problem for someone who had difficulty managing stairs.

Breakfast was different every day. Delicious vegan meals. Kadek (manager) was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Very pleased with him and feel that he is now a friend.

The beautiful rice field location was a plus but also a negative, if you are a poor sleeper. We are bird watches. I found the birds, ducks, chooks, gecko’s, water monitor lizard, frogs and quails delightful. However, after a heavy rain, the wildlife throw a “party” at night.

I have stayed in numerous places around Penestanan but this really tops it by far. I realize that, for me, to be away from the bustle of the main street, yet still in walking distance allows for much more tranquility - and that is what Bali and particularly Ubud is about. The garden next to the rice paddies was a refuge for the soul and allowed for real relaxation. The breakfasts were way better than what most places offer - inspired and fresh daily.

After spending 2 nights in the Villa, I decided to extend my stay and booked 2 more nights in the smaller bungalow in the back of the garden. Here you feel even more like sleeping in the jungle. I even had a firefly in my room one night! No bugs or mosquitoes though, the mosquito net works very well. From the open air bathroom I could see the super bright moon, a magical sight! Breakfasts continued to be amazing, now even brought up to my little balcony. I can recommend to walk through the ricefields from here as well (not only the ridge walk and the paddies from Ubud). If you take a right when you walk out of the property and just follow the concrete path, you will reach a street with lots of art galleries, the NEKA art Museum and some excellent restaurants.

We stayed in the small treehouse-like bungalow and it was absolutely amazing! It might not be as luxurious as other villas, but it has everything you need, including a small pool shared with another cottage. We were so in love with the garden, the tranquility and the lovely family who manages the BnB. Breakfast was different every day, freshly prepared and delicious - so, if you are after a magical stay, go for the treehouse!! It even has a tiny outdoor kitchen with a kettle, fridge and stove. We were so sorry to leave!
