PROS - regular cleaning - AC - enough electric sockets - pool - staff is really nice - breakfast is OK - bathroom was big - hairdryer, towels - nice riad overall - shower gel and shampoo (though shared in big bottles) - parking nearby

CONS - the room we stayed in isn’t pictured in any of the categories; it was much darker as it had fewer and smaller windows and looked ‘used’ (note that pic is taken during the night) - bad lighting - had 4 bank cards, none worked at the hotel (haven’t had issues elsewhere) - small room - one big shower gel that you have to move around between shower and sink; two would be nicer - it was our 3rd stay in Morocco (also Marrakech) with several different accommodations and honestly we were a bit disappointed in terms of price/quality ratio - the bed is very used, it was impossible to sleep - breakfast on the terrace would be much nicer (it’s on the ground floor in a special room) - small bed (specified though)

Our stay at Riad Carina was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed into this charming and impeccably maintained riad. The cleanliness of the property was outstanding, with every detail meticulously cared for, making it a comfortable and relaxing retreat after exploring the bustling streets of the Medina. The location of Riad Carina is unbeatable, situated right in the heart of the Old City. It’s perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and history of Marrakech. Everything from the souks to key attractions was just a short walk away, yet the riad itself felt like a tranquil haven. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was Said. Words can not fully capture how wonderful he was throughout our visit. Said was more than a host; he was a true gem—kind, helpful, and endlessly sweet. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, from recommendations on where to visit to arrange anything we required. His genuine hospitality and warm demeanour made us feel like part of the family. If you're considering staying in Marrakech, Riad Carina is an absolute must. It's a perfect blend of charm, comfort, and unparalleled hospitality. We can’t wait to return! Thank you!!!

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Booking came with breakfast although my mother and I never had it. The location in terms of the city was pretty awesome(it is in the Medina) however, the Riad itself is down a small lane/alley so be careful with the wheels of your suitcases or if you have any early morning activities. Although the sir at the reception is kind enough to accompany uou if you are alone. The 10 euro taxi pick up to the riad becomes 50 dirhams (to the train station) when leaving…. Overall nice, clean, small issues with the hot water and not a lot of tv channels in the room… but you should be out and about anyways 😄, the restaurant at the roundabout is affordable and delicious.

A really gorgeous Riad, in a prime location! Our bedroom was on the terrace which was super handy for us when we wanted to chill outside on the sun loungers or go for a dip in the pool. The food served at the Riad was exceptional, it was really clean and amazing value for money.

One of the only down sides for us was trying to pay at the property. None of our cards worked despite us using them at other locations. Despite having a card against the booking, they wouldn't allow us to pay through booking.com so in the end we had to take money out which took us a while due to limits at the card machines. Just a warning to pay before you arrive as this can be a really tedious situation for both the Riad and yourself.

Location just 3 mins walk.from Tinsmiths Square and the cafes and restaurants. Once through the entrance door in a cobbled alleyway, it's a beautiful Riad. An oasis of calm from the hustle and bustle of the nearby market. We had Room 3 which was spacious. The bed was large and comfortable. There was plenty of storage space for clothing. A very good breakfast of coffee, juice, pancakes or omelette, bread and coconut cake. Lovely roof terrace overlooking the old Palace walls and the nesting Storks. A 20 min walk from the Saddian Tombs, the Mosque and right next to the entrance to the Badia Palace. The Bahia place is a short walk away also.

Loved the location, far enough from the madness of Jemaa el fna, but a direct 10 min walk there Lovely design of rooms and riad with rugs , tiling giving it an authentic feel Plunge pool on very hot days-35+ deg arvos, but really good A/C in rooms Mint tea on arrival

Being shooshed as I walked down to breakfast after 9am, despite lots of noise by others after midnight on the roof- seemed a bit much Breakfast was small but some days tasty , others a bit bland I needed to requested tea every morning and I felt awkward asking each day

Riad Carina is an absolute gem. Superbly located on the fringe of the Madina, this Riad is quiet perfectly set up and a joy to stay in. Breakfast was traditional and a perfect start to the day. 'Said' seemed to be there the whole time and looked after us daily. He was also able to arrange a guide to take us around the Medina and highlight some of the must see locations. Well worth booking if you're able.

The room aircon was a little temperamental and it was quite cool at night. However, the extra blankets made sleep very easy. You won't get a taxi to the front door, which is located down a narrow alley way, but this made it all the more exceptional and added to its ambiance and quietness.

Staff were very friendly, even when we turned up late from the airport on the first night. We had pre-booked dinner and felt bad that it was so late, but the dinner was great. There was bread and dips, then what we thought was the main course of 3 or 4 different dishes. Then when we thought we were done, a huge tagine of 6 pieces of chicken for 2 of us arrived too. Breakfast was also great for the price - coffee, orange juice, a sort of omelette, various breads, jams, and some sort of breakfast sponge cake was served to our table each morning. It was a bit hard to find in the dark on the first night, but the location was actually perfect. At the end of the street on the right, you can see the walls of El Badi Palace straight in front of you. If you turn left at the end of the street the Road is on, to the roundabout, there's a local square 1 minute away, with lots of choice for food in the evenings, that's a bit cheaper than at the main square, . There is also a cash exchange that feels quite safe on the local square. The Saadian Tombs were about 5 minutes away (West from the local square), with a Bim supermarket on the way for very cheap drinks and snacks. The Bahia palace was also about 5 minutes away (North-East). There are lots more restaurants on Av Hommane al Fatouaki (North-west) from the local square. However, the main square Jemaa el-Fnaa was less than 10 minutes away in a straight line North, so you can still get there easily enough. I think it was a perfect location so as not to be completely overwhelmed by staying right in the very centre at Jemaa el-Fnaa, and not wanting to stay outside the city walls at the very Western-looking hotels on the West of the city. The rooftop terrace and (unheated) pool area were very peaceful, considering how busy the city is and how close it was to the centre. I also enjoyed seeing the storks that nest on top of El Badi Palace a lot closer up from the roof terrace!

By booking a "small double" I knew from the photos that there might not be an actual door between the bedroom and bathroom. I could have spent about £5 more per night for the better room, but I risked it. Well, the small double room we were given indeed didn't have a door separating the bathroom. This might not be what some couples would like, but we got more used to it over the 6 nights. It was still extremely good value for about £42/night. I would absolutely stay again, but I would probably pay a bit extra for a better room.

The staffs were really helpful, kind and thoughtful. They were flexible and was ready to answer any queries we had. The place was clean and cozy. It was a bit far from the main road so it was quiet (you don't near any vehicle movements). They organise day trips according to your needs and was informative and not at all expensive. They offer dinners, massages, traditional bath at reasonable rate at the riad which was much better priced than the normal places. Airport is very close (100 derham one way) and you can get the taxi anytime from the square which is about 2-3 mins walk from the riad.

The room was a bit smaller than we expected.

Fabulous staff- Can't Thank them enough - in particular Saaid for his kindness, thoughtfulness and Professional working ethos. The staff were friendly, hard working and diligent. The Riad was Luxurious, Spotless clean, Quiet, and Geographically close to all major attractions. The food was delightful, and each meal was unique - again top hygiene ensured. The upper level on the Riad holds an outside pool nestled in gorgous surroundings of palm trees and scented shrubbery - a lovely relaxing area.

Nothing!..Vacation wasn't long enough :)
