We went to the Lakehouse for Sunday lunch when it opened, and the service was horrendous, and the staff were very rude. Fast forward to 2024, we decided to give it another chance. It was a one night stay on a Sunday night in January with our 5 month old baby. The place was cosy and comfortable with lots of Family's and couples with dogs. We had drinks in the lobby and dinner at Bonnie's. The pool was full of people swimming in the dark! Dinner and cocktails were delicious, and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more friendly. The room was gorgeous, and we had the best sleep. We are delighted we gave it another chance, and we will definitely be back.

We can't fault the place at all. Loved every minute of it. The place was so comfortable.

Glasson Lakehouse was exquisite from the moment we arrived. The decor, the smells, the dog friendly vibe, the views, the restaurant, the outdoor heated pool/hot tub, the activities, literally everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was our anniversary and they had left a special treat and note in the room for our arrival. Our suite was exquisite and so large with a stand alone copper bath tub, a record player, 2 tv's, a living room with a log burning stove. I could go on! The bed was so comfortable, id buy that duvet and pillows if i could! We loved the chill vibe of people wearing their bath robes and slippers in public areas. Would love to come back in the summer when outdoor bar is open and fire pit is lit!

The hot tub price was 40 euro for an hours use which I thought was a little bit steep, it was 20 euro up until recently, but to be honest ill still do it again the next time i go so it is still a worth while experience! We took the latest slot for breakfast (10.30am) and on both days all of the pastries were gone so if i had to make any slight note it would be for the pastries to be replenished so that those coming at 10.30 get the same experience as those who came earlier but again, a very minor issue breakfast was delicious.

Amazing location and peacefully quiet. The lake is beautiful, as are the hot tubs and outdoor heated swimming pool. We didn’t bring our little dog but there were lots of dogs there, brilliant to see a hotel catering for our best friends. The decor is stunning and the room was huge (king). You can sign into Netflix on the tv.

Definitely the staff need to be more attentive. Had dinner in the restaurant, no one ever asked if everything was ok when it was brought down. Portions are small so had to ask for extra chips. Had to follow a girl after dinner to ask her to put it on our room. Breakfast staff the next morning were not much better. The man in Tom’s bar told us how hungover he was and when we asked about the food in there, he told us to go to the Villager or Grogan’s in the village and not eat in Tom’s. Bit strange.

The spa was beautiful - it would be nice to have a bigger communal area to be able to relax in your dressing gown with tea/mimosa with your friend or partner (like a bigger relaxation room that’s not the lobby)

The breakfast was quite weak - our eggs Benedict was really poorly made - the bread was a bit soggy the ham was dry and the poached eggs were hardboiled, and the sauce was basically just butter - - the avocado on the avocado toast tasted way to zingy which usually means it’s a day or two old - it might be better to do a nice buffet spread. The staff were lovely but we were often trying to ring reception and got no answer so you might need more staff Might be nice to have a shuttle service you can pay for going to the train station

i loved all the activities for kids and i loved all the little attention to detail in the bedrooms. we also got an upgrade which was really kind and gave us loads more space as a family.

the only thing i would criticise is the standard of the food and price in the restaurant. the stand is very hit and miss. some dishes were quite good, but a lot of dishes were quite average even though they were quite expensive. the service was very friendly, but it was a bit slow. however, the restaurant was very generous, anytime we needed any little food extras for our kids, they gave us way more than we asked for and accommodated all our special requests for our kids. and they had a fantastic kids menu. the standard of the kids food was almost better than the adults.

The overall experience was exceptional from the moment we arrived until we left. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was fabulous with a lake view and minibar. The beds were so spacious and comfy and we had the added bonus of a deep bath in our ensuite. It was bliss! The food and service in Bonnies restaurant was absolutely brilliant. Every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. The food was absolutely gorgeous. We at breakfast, lunch and dinner here and both had different dishes on every occasion and we were bot blown away with how nice it was. We had the fortune of having sunny days on our side which only added to the overall experience. The views, walking trails, outdoor swimming pool, golf course, hot tubs, lake activities and playgrounds make it the perfect haven of escapism and offer a chance to enjoy the beauty of nature.

We shoud have stayed for longer.

The entire hotel was designed and decorated to a high standard. Very clean, the staff were polite and friendly. The gym was great, plenty of modern equipment and space. The surrounding grounds and facilities provided by the hotel is brilliant.

The food was ok but could have been better. The bar menu could have been better. From 3.30pm onwards it's only really finger food available such as nachos, cured meats plate, chicken wings etc. This isn't a great alternative for those who don't fancy the restaurant á La carte.

Very relaxing, great amenities, lovely ground for walks, hot tub was fab! Room very comfortable and spacious!

The service was a major let down, staff very slow even though there were plenty of staff on, a lot of standing around looking like they didn’t know what they should be doing! Especially at breakfast, trying to get tea/coffee was hard work! Left standing around for hot tub, empty bottles of water left on steps from previous guests, and when the attendant did arrive he strolled down to us with his hands in his pockets!!

Location was ideal for our stay. We received a free room upgrade due to it being my partners birthday which was very kind & very much appreciated. The hotel itself is beautiful, and extremely clean and comfortable. Staff very welcoming & efficient. Would recommend

Breakfast is cooked to order but you don't have the usual breakfast buffet for your cold choices, fruit cereal, pastries etc. We're big fans of the 3 or 4 course breakfast :) so we were a little dissapointed by this. That said, the breakfast was very nice & served in a lovely dining room overlooking the lake.
