Loved the fact we had the whole lodge to ourselves. Master bedroom with ensuite. Plus family bathroom . Cot provided for 2 year old. We were 3 generations, so this was important. Messages promptly responded to by owner. It’s a small town with many great options for any meal within walking distance. Thanks to the loose leaf guide in the property, we were able to get to an amazing sequoia trail - “ The Trail of 100 Giants”. Also, Easy drives to the lake and boating options.

Works going on opposite. Loud, dusty and it blocked the access to the river and playground. Had we been told in advance, we might have booked elsewhere. Owner said they hadn’t known and gave us late checkout.

Lovely place, real kitchen and living room w a divider to the bedroom portion, very comfortable in a quiet nook yet close to everything. Easy working w staff prior to arrival. Friends stayed at another inn nearby, I liked mine much better, will happily return again.

Had to fix a loose faucet on the fly, without proper tools- some aspects of the shower definitively need some TLC/proper maintenance. Useable, no serious issue, ought to be tended to though. Ventilation had a smell, presume from some prior guests? Minor, maybe the system needs a cleaning/filter? Able to ignore after a short while. Not uncommon in motels to find this scent.

Wonderful little place to stay for a trip to the Kern River. Very convenient location, and great price ($85 for a night for us). It has a lot of amenities for such a little place, and the host was kind and answered the phone and told me how to check in when I arrived.

It was listed as being big enough for four. The pull out bed was insanely uncomfortable. There seemed to be some kind of memory foam thing on it that was malformed by being in the couch, and made it extremely uncomfortable. The other, actual bed was fine though. The heaters were also very loud.

This place is located across the street from the Kern River that passes through here and alongside this lovely park across the street from this hotel. This is a super lovely setting nestled in the mountains. We had a bench on our front porch and also in our back porch! Amazing views from both our backdoor windows AND front door windows. You MUST stay here if you want a super fabulous place. You will not be disappointed. Fabulous views with the mountains and river across the street. This room was super adorable to the max. My friend and I saw it and HAD TO STAY. We are soooo glad we did and you will too! Gloria at the front desk was exceptional. She is super friendly and courteous. She was "the" only friendly person we encountered in all of Kernville as far as staffing in any hotels or restaurants. Everyone we encountered at the park across the street was friendly. Regarding staff at the other two hotels {not this one} and a store where there was a subway and our waitress at Cheryl's Diner were all not friendly. The cottage we stayed in exceeded our expectations. The mini-split worked the best of any other hotel that we stayed. The kitchenette was adorable with retro-style red fridge, red microwave, and red toaster added such elegance to the kitchen. Large 5' fridge accommodated all the food we brought. We had a front yard and back yard for my service dog which was suuuuper fabulous. My doggy found a treat behind the front desk and Gloria had no problem my doggy Silky taking it and enjoying it. That night he found another treat in the back yard. We later placed a written request to Gloria on her desk to gift us another. Before we knew it, she brought it to our door. My doggy was in heaven. We were in heaven. This place is super clean, super adorable, super comfy with digital entrance on both door knobs -- to backyard and front yard.

We need a second night but we had failed to make prior reservations and had to find a different place. We REALLY wanted to stay here another two nights. These accommodations were "the" very best we found in all of Kernville.

The location is excellent, near a riverside park. Note that the local fire station is just behind the building, but there was no serious activity there except for some fire truck testing done around 9 am. The apartment has a dated charm and the bed was very comfortable (not too hard or soft). I had to use the A/C at night, but the noise was more like white noise and did not bother me, even though I am very sensitive to these issues.

My only minor complaint is that the floors did not seem particularly clean when I had to wipe off some food from the living room floor with a wet paper towel. It would be nice if it was mopped more regularly.

The spacious and cosy flat with a big terrace offered a very nice living room with a kitchen corner, two bathrooms and two bedrooms with AC. We had the feeling to be at home. The location of the holiday apartment was great - we had a nice river view and the village center was in walking distance. Parking facilities in front of the house were for free.

It was nice to have flyscreens at he windows, but in the smaller bedroom it was broken. One bathroom was very nice, the other one a bit worn-down and could have been cleaner.

a place for biker/motorcycle folks from bakersfield that are middle aged and drink too much. Homey grandma vibes in the room, super stocked kitchen area and big fridge. you could live here. location is amazing. makes up for everything.

semi racist artwork in our room, not sure about other rooms. could use some updating, but it’s a mom n pop type of spot with only a few rooms and they’re doing the best they can so we gave them a break.

Great location, large and well appointed room with big fridge, hob, microwave and coffee machine. Nice decor and new towels and very clean. A/c worked well too. Lovely swing seat out front with view towards river and bbqs and garden space out back. Wish we had booked for longer.

Wooden construction meant that you could hear every footstep overhead, but luckily they were early to bed and early to rise like us!

This is the most romantic, clean, fully furnished with a full kitchen with more amenities than anyone could ever need. The room was above our expectations by far and the local restaurants are amazing. The linens were super clean and fresh smelling, the pillows were fluffy and soft and the beds were soooo comfortable, I could have stayed indefinitely. Our privacy was respected as we never saw a staff member during our stay. Our two Jack Russell service dogs were welcomed with opened arms. This is our first choice for lodging in Kernville. I give them a 100 out of 10.

There wasn't a thing that we didn't live

The communication exceeded my expectations. I called the number after hours. A helpful lady answered. I had trouble finding the place. I told her I was about 15 minutes away putting fuel she offered to stay on the phone with me the whole time to direct me to the place until I got there, that’s amazing.
