Comfortable bed, TV with streaming services, close to car in park and easy checkout.

WiFi code didn't work. Bathroom very dated.

The host was lovely, friendly and informative. Gave me all the info I needed on arrival and was very helpful. The location was great, just a few minutes away from the M1 and right near all the shops you could possibly need. There are a great selection of takeaway restaurants that deliver to the hotel and the hosts will provide any crockery/cutlery you might need if you ask them. The tea, coffee and milk was very well stocked and the hand soap and shower/hair wash provided smelled lovely too! The WiFi was really easy to access and worked well up in the top back room I was staying in. There is a car park to the rear which can get a little tight but still big enough for the guests staying.

The light in the en-suite. It is automatic on a sensor which meant that whilst I was showering, the light kept going off because it wasn’t detecting movement so I had to keep waving my hands over the top of the cubicle which was a little annoying. Even with the sliding door closed, there must be just enough of a gap for the sensor to detect movement as if I moved my legs too far over the bed, the light went on, triggering the fan, this did wake me a couple of times through the 3 night stay. This might not be an issue in other rooms, but it was in mine. This really is the only negative I have to say about the stay.

Room only basis. Car park at the rear. Opposite the Hotel there is a small shopping mall with a Lidl store. Very convenient to buy fresh croissants and fruit etc for our breakfast in the room. Kettle and tea/coffee provided in the room. Clean bedding and towels, lots hot water in the shower.

Be aware the the ground floor is being renovated so lot dust and materials near to entrance. Our First floor room freshly decorated and comfortable.

Communication and friendliness both excellent. Good price too. The room had everything I needed and was extremely clean. Mattress and pillows clean and comfortable. Bedding and towels clean and fresh.

The decor was a little tired but I felt it was reflected in the price (I place cleanliness over modern looks any time). The laminate flooring could definitely do with being replaced.

It was a warm, well maintained comfortable room as part of what appeared to be a converted double garage. The weather was horrendous when I got there but my clothes (more like a diving suit by then) dried out in no time. I didn’t drive but there is ample on site parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. En suite bathroom and shower, tea and coffee facilities, wi-fi and tv with Freeview+. Great location with bus station, shopping centre, market and pubs all within a few minutes walk.

I don’t really have any complaints but as you might expect the bathroom is a tight squeeze which may be a problem for some.

I had a wonderful stay at Central hotel yesterday. The property is beautifully maintained, offering a blend of comfort and elegance. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. I particularly liked the cleanliness and attention to detail in the room, which was spacious and well-appointed. The location is also a big plus, conveniently close to local attractions while still providing a peaceful and relaxing environment.

All was fine just the parking was a challenge. There was enough space but bays are not marked out and some people then took too much room making it difficult for those arriving later to park

I want to take this moment to express our appreciation for the wonderful experience during our recent stay. When we arrived, we were both greeted in a warm and welcoming manner. Tina's professionalism and courteousness was commendable, making us feel valued as guests. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the accommodation itself. Our rooms, room 18 and 20, were nothing short of brilliant. Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and peaceful night's sleep. Staying at the Central Hotel allowed us to unwind and relax, ensuring a restful stay that exceeded our expectations and we are already looking forward to the possibility of returning to the Central Hotel for another stay in the near future. In conclusion, I would like to sincerely thank Tina for making our brief stay so welcoming and pleasant. Thank you again for your outstanding hospitality.

Tina is so lovely. She's the proprietor and NOTHING is too much trouble. She is friendly and approachable. So kind and we both adored her from the moment of meeting. She had put a bed cover fake fur in our rooms in case we were chilly and made room in her fridge for our picnic food items. Should she still be trading (sadly she and Stephen are selling up) we will be back next year for jousting at Bolsover. Fabulous is the only word to use for whole experience and huge huge thanks Tina. We were so touched by everything done .

The room was very comfortable and well sized. Tina was very friendly in welcoming me into the property. The hotel is also located very close to most of the amenities you might need. I shall mention that I stayed here for business and therefore did not explore the area outside of those basic necessities such as shopping/grocery stores and restaurants

The water pressure and temperature of the water in the bathroom was not as expected. The wifi was also not up to scratch, I was using it for work and it struggled to even keep up a video call. It would also be nice if doors autolock upon leaving or once in the room but they instead need to be locked manually even at night so you gotta make sure you remember to lock them
