Pretty decor great staff

The architecture and the decor is stunning, the breakfasts are incredibly delicious and generous, the location is very close to the centre. Our room was huge with a huge and beautiful shower room, the bed was super comfortable. And with the profits they run educational social projects to improve young people’s prospects. Also very eco conscious.

I didn’t enjoy the pop music while I was eating breakfast but I think the lovely staff in the kitchen did, so maybe that’s more important. But some Mexican or classical or jazz would be more relaxing, but everyone has their own opinions on background music! This is a very minor criticism as I absolutely loved the place.

This hotel is pared back comfort. I loved the hotel's mission, and the people who worked there. It is a quiet hotel but full of life. It is excellent value for money, the space is simple and spotless, and the breakfasts are plentiful! I appreciated the staff's knowledge and help, which helped us enjoy our time in the most wonderful city of Oaxaca. It is very conveniently situated, close to the historic centre but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. I would happily stay here again, probably on my own so as to go on more expeditions and hiking.

There wasn't anything I didn't like - all the staff, from cleaners, kitchen team, front of house, were polite and helpful, place was spotless and I felt there was a real pride in the place. Both my 15-year-old daughter and 84-year-old mother enjoyed their stay!

The breakfasts every morning were wonderful, the staff were especially helpful and the location is excellent for access to the city centre. We booked the room with a private patio and it was a beautiful space to read in the morning or have a beer from the honour bar. The fact that the hotel is also a social enterprise made the stay feel even better. We plan to come back when we return to Oaxaca to try the cooking classes.

The shower tiles were very slippery, so a non-slip mat would be helpful. This is a very minor note though. The bathroom itself was large, very clean, and well-equipped.

This hotel was absolutely adorable. I stayed here by myself for one night. My room was super cute. They even included little chocolate hearts on the desk. I loved how the proceeds went to help a good cause (education of Oaxaca kids since graduation rates are some of the lowest in Mexico). There was also a complimentary breakfast cooked to order, so it was super fresh. The staff was delightful, too.

I went in December and it was colder than I expected, so definitely bring clothes to bundle up in, since there isn't a heater. There was some noise because of a nearby festival. These were minor things, though.

The location is optimal for walking to the center or catching a cheap ride with taxis to attractions. The food was the best I have received in a breakfast included hotel. The rooms are well equipped with a fan and A/C. They have tours to the major city attractions. The staff was caring and available during the whole day. This is arguably the best small hotel I have stayed in so far.

The rooms are small, but we knew that before booking the hotel. Unrelated to the hotel: our visit to "Hieve el Agua" was a waste of time (The place doesn't really seem to have thermal water anymore, it's man made. It was overcrowded and the water was slimy.)

It is a very cool architectural property, much like a tree house mixed with an Escher drawing. I didn't realize this when I booked it, but the revenue goes to a non-profit helping children which is lovely. The bed was quite comfortable and the shower had good pressure and was plenty hot, though the space is quite small and perhaps challenging for a person with mobility issues. The unique breakfast each day was delicious.

The staff were not very outgoing or engaging as Americans are accustomed to, but they were professional.

The room was spacious, clean and well maintained with daily housekeeping which was really helpful. The staff are always very friendly and the property felt safe with a secure gate that is only opened by the staff. Our favourite part of the stay was the amazing breakfasts cooked by the in-house chefs each morning - each morning was different and there was also an assortment of fresh fruits with yoghurt and granola, coffee, tea and fruit juices. We also had our laundry done which was a quick and easy process - just handed in our clothes with a completed laundry form in the morning and it was returned to us all neatly folded by night time. Will definitely recommend to others!

There wasn’t really a blanket on the bed - just a thin bedsheet but not a huge issue.

-creative breakfast with local flavour -really helpful staff that helped us organized our stay optimally -the hotel has a mission to support local children from poor families -lovely decoration. You can see in a lot of details that the owner has put her/his heart into this

- the room’s bathroom kind of “communicates” with the next room’s bathroom. Our neighbor was unfortunately sick and we could hear very loud toilette noises that we didn’t want to hear. - The location although quite central and safe (next to a police station) feels a bit “edgy”. Although it’s only 10-15 minutes walk to reach the centre, there is a lot of traffic and noise that make the walk quite unpleasant.

The walk up view of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired but once you go in.... WOW!!! It is beautiful.The hotel is small but modern in many ways.. technology used, competency of staff, etc. The hotel vibe is very casual and sitting out on the patio terrace memorable. The provided breakfast is great and we really loved the honor system (and the price) used if you want a beverage. We felt very safe. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a smaller, laid back hotel.

It's a little out of the way in Oaxaca. The walk up view could present an initial bad impression; but just wait until you go in.
