This is a really pleasant, clean, well-run and homely guesthouse, which is a separate wing of the owners' property, with its own entrance. The owner, Sue, was very kind and makes a great breakfast. The rooms have kettles and generous supplies of biscuits. The shower had plenty of hot water. Guests can use the breakfast room downstairs at any time, where there is a useful microwave and crockery/cutlery. There are three bedrooms upstairs of differing sizes but all clean and nice. It's a short walk to the small mall at Palmyra Junction, which has a Woolworths food shop and café. The guesthouse would be very convenient if going to the sport at Newlands. Claremont is a pretty, safe suburb. We would stay again and recommend.

Nothing to dislike. However, be aware that there are a few steps up to the property and a full flight of stairs up to the bedrooms. The useful private parking spaces are ideal for smaller cars. There is a certain amount of traffic noise from Palmyra Road at the front.

This very comfortable and tastefully decorated B & B was lovely. From the delicious home-cooked breakfasts to the comfortable beds, we very much enjoyed ourselves. There were high quality toiletries in the bathroom and tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolate in the rooms which were replaced every day. There are four rooms available at the B & B, we took two of them. One of ours was particularly nice as it had a large terrace overlooking the swimming pool.

There were no facilities for washing clothes at the B & B. Apparently the only possibility was to go to a professional laundrette with a same day service, which according to Google Maps was a 7 minute walk away.

Absolutely charming place. Airy and spotlessly clean room, comfortable bed, lovely shower. Sue is such a warm and friendly person and made me feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and she clearly loves hosting. Many sweet and thoughtful touches and great biscuits and tea :) So very deserving of its other good reviews. Thank you again Sue.

Not booking longer stay

Sue is a wonderful host, she was always available and ready to assist us. We enjoyed the breakfast and found the rooms comfortable. The location is central and convenient. Highly recommended accommodation.

The size of the parking bays made it challenging to park off road. Sue accommodated one car in her driveway, but we battled to fit in the bays provided.

Sue and Steve are wonderful hosts, who go above and beyond to make stays comfortable for their guest. From accommodating gluten and lactose intolerance, to giving recommendations to being flexible whenever possible, Sue has made our stay truly exceptional. The property is in a top-notch state, and it has a fantastic location, especially if you come with/by a car.

The property was clean , it was extremely well located and the room was spacious , comfortable and had all the amenities. Sue was really friendly and helpful with everything and breakfast was absolutely delicious with a great selection of fruit and cooked breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here if you are going to be visiting Cape Town. I will definitely be back!

Breakfast was good. Secure Parking was a little tight with respect to the size of our (Toyota Corolla) hire car.

Unfortunately, restricted available space precludes enlarging the on-site parking. Small or compact cars are OK for a maximum of 3 cars. However, on-street parking is available for larger cars.

This place is just „home coming“. The most lovely, personal and detailed place i have stayed in CT before. Thanks so much Sue & Steve for making my traveling so relaxed and feeling home. Exactly what i was looking for to take a break and enjoy me-time. Loved the breakfast, couldnt wait to get up to start the new day with poached eggs and fresh fruit salad. i enjoyed networking with other guests at the breakfast table; specially with locals staying here for business trips. everything is super clean, room service is perfect, snacks & waters are filled up every day. bed is super comfy, slept so good. nice pool area within the Victorian houses neighborhood. area is a bit outside downtown city, close to Kirstenbosch gardens, close to roads for daytrips such as Muizenberg, Cape, Winelands… and you avoid traffic jam within Camps Bay and city center. One Last Word: just AMAZING THANK YOU. I will def return for my next visit.

The Victorian Goose is a great guesthouse. The location was perfect for us, close to family in Newlands and Wynburg and also the Kirstenbosch Gradens and Newlands Swimming Pool. The accommodation was so comfortable, and Sue and Steve so friendly. They were always happy to help and provided extra chairs for us in the big room for our family to sit and have tea in the one room. The breakfast each morning was delicious too.

The ambience of the B&B was wonderful. It was, comfortable, beautifully appointed and very comfortable . Sue was so welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and all my requests were accommodated. Would definitely recommend the Victorian Goose and hope to stay there again.
